no killer instinct. same with mayo footballers. fair play kilkenny. may not have been the best team for large parts and probably should have been a further 5pts down at halftime. but they regrouped and my god when push came to shove they werent hesitant in tearing galway apart and wrapping up the game with 10minutes still to play.

Tis the difference between thoroughbred winners and the rest Senyatta. They know how to win, and they get it done come hell or high water.
Brian Cody is an absolute legend. It doesn't matter how many accolades he has to his name, he was still like a kid on the sideline today. The hunger he manages to instill in them players year after year is unreal.
The second half performance was superb, making light of a half fit Richie Hogan.
Oh what the likes of Mayo would do for that manager......and that winning mentality.

Kilkenny would still win plenty without Cody. the media has this cult of the manager where they have to focus the attention on 1 genius-figure instead of a team.
He is of course a top manager. Im sure there are a few club coaches in the county who'd like a go of it at this stage.

FREDDIEK ...Kilkenny would still win plenty without Cody. the media has this cult of the manager where they have to focus the attention on 1 genius-figure instead of a team......I Not sure you are right Fred, i wouldn,t mind being a fly on the wall in the Kilkenny dressing room at half/time.

perhaps the last 10 years or so have seen the best generation of hurlers in Kilkenny, and they were bound to win a good few.
same as the 1970s saw the best set of kerry footballers emerge, they would have won plenty without o'dwyer.

Maybe so Freddie, its a hard one to argue. But given the choice, I would certainly rather him on my side than the oppositions.
An awful lot of it is he winning mentality the likes of Kilkenny and Kerry seem to be born with. As Senyatta says Kerry know how to get it done, I think Dublin will have to beat them comfortably if they are going to beat them at all.
