I noticed that Sir Mark Prescott had the last winner at Killarney yesterday. He has a good strike rate when he crosses the Irish sea I think, certainly from the races I have seen which he has a runner in. They frequently go off favourite so no surprise but his level of success in Ireland seems similar to that in France and Germany when he sends horses to those countries.
At Curragh today I see that Sea Moon has come to Ireland and is now being trained by John Oxx. Have the Australians sent him to Ireland for a few more races before he goes to stud there at the end of the season?
Thought Ted Veale was given very exaggerated waiting tactics today, may well haven't won but think he would have gone very close. Herald The Dawn done the job well enough given the cut in ground,on a line through Sunglider both him and Shogun were entitled to be close up, Shogun disappointed but the eventual runner up is no mug in any case. Think the winner is improving for each run and would be staying on well if he went for next years guineas, workmanlike and not at all flashy but no forlorn hope for it if goes there.

High Secret broke a ten horse losing streak for Prescott in Eire with his last winners being a trio of odds on shots in 2007 (total LSP was €0.13 for his runners that year). For the last ten years his LSP here is about -€6. You'd want to have deep pockets and patience if you were following them!
I wouldn't say that Sea Moon did enough Down Under to justify a place at stud there. I imagine he will find his way to a NH stud either here or in England.

Actually my figures are wrong. The RP website is missing horses from it's statistical summary. Think it may be to do with the Baronet recently being added to his name, it isn't catching all horses that ran during the period.
In any event, you would be doing well to turn much of a profit on his runners.

I seem to remember Prescott having success with Cheveley Park and Rausing horses in Ireland. I think it was 2006 he had a winner at the Galway festival.
Sea Moon showed he had some spark left last week I thought. Always remember that turn-of-foot in the Hardwicke!
