Immigration is a great way for service companies to illegally bypass the minimum wage. Everyone knows the old trick illegal immigrant dressed in tracksuit told to tell inspector he's a visitor if asked.
That's a sensational article by McWilliams |
|
By:
He was one of the first to warn about the resession as well Racing , knows what he's talking about , it would be a shame if they let this go . The working man made to pay the price once again .

Christy Burke correctly demanding action but if you asked that same gentleman about the migrant crisis in the Meditteranean he would say welcome them all in,he and all the emoters don't get that the problem will magnify if Peter Sutherland and Liz ODonnell had their way.
|
|
By:
It is a brilliant article, and D Mc has guts in abundance for saying it exactly how it is.As in the warning of the recession you wouldn't be betting against him being wrong with this either, only the scale.

Homelessness still in the news yet none of the feel good merchants thinks that importing 5000 + dependants suffering war trauma will increase the problem.

1122 homeless children in Dublin alone,Simon spokesperson says they have never seen anything like it and the situation is totally out of control. Very sad for children particulary,it just shouldn't be happening. The goverment,s long finger for 2020 is a totally inadequate response.

Was driving through Tallaght high st this morning , and asleep on a bench outside Smyths toy store was a woman wrapped in a sleeping bag . Shameful that we cant look after our own , yet we seem hell bent on allowing economic refugees in and welcome them with open arms ,something not right.

By:
Its a complicated problem but one certainty is that if Liz ODonnell and Peter Sutherland had their way the problem will soar.
Bringing in five or ten thousand migrants from the Meditteranean will cause havoc, the advocates never tell you once in they are entitled to bring their immediate family in as well, these families are extended and all are dependents. They also neglect to tell you that it can't and won't stop there, once say the first five thousand are in this will encourage more and the same arguments will start again. Its great to see Workrider and others get the connection. |

Ireland beginning to see the results of a lack in funding throughout the social sector since the bondholders had to be paid off. Like as in the UK, a conservative led governemnt is voted in. What do you expect them to do. Increase public funding? Both countries turning quickly into America. Unless you are already in the middle class, have your own home which is preferably owned, a well paid job and can access private health care, then you will be cast adrift of society. Look to America and you have the trailer trash syndrome. Do we want that here?

It's nothing to do with our own homelessness issue. A lot of our own so called homeless people have had opportunities in life and are not prepared to help themselves - junkies, alco's, petty criminals etc. I'd sooner see us help genuine families who just want to live in a safe environment and are prepared to integrate and work in our society.
|
|
By:
You might not like the Irish homeless, you may deem them unworthy, you may deem them ungenuine but how do you know these new arrivals will be worthy, will be genuine.
Any chance you might house one of these families for a short period, then you will find out how worthy how genuine they are whilst showing us how genuine and worthy you are. |

Give up wfb your fighting a losing battle against the lefties/do gooders. Plus if you carry on with this post going against the sentimental flow the Betfair police will soon remove this like they did on the football forum. It's the first thing gone already.......free speech

There are plenty of hard working families who have fallen victim to the present circumstances and have found themselves homeless. I work in the social sector. I'd think you'd be quite surprised to see the tye of people presenting themslves to local authorities and agencies such as MABS. Everyone, regardless of their backgrounds deserve a roof over their heads. |

Too true Wildman, in a country renowned for dole cheats, benefit fraudsters, insurance scammers etc how could we risk further contamination in our society. Who will pay for their water !

The main benefit cheats are recent imports, ones that committed fraud to get in here.
I think we are a country renowned for horses, music and great literature an island of saints and scholars. |

Tallaght high street......now, THAT is funny
Don Quixote: [about to attack the windmill] Ho, there, foul monster! Cease the knocking at thy craven knees and prepare to do battle! Sancho Panza: [nearly simultaneously] Your Grace, I swear by my wife's little black moustache that's not a giant, it's only a... [with a yell, Don Quixote charges off] |

Could you stop emoting for a minute and give us the relevance. |

1122 homeless children in Dublin alone
They have a home, Pa, it's just not an ideal one. They are well fed, in schools and nestled to the bosom of a Social Welfare state that will suckle them for the rest of their lives if necessary. There is no comparison with these refugees who are roofless and would be delighted with any roof, on the run from a War torn country that has offered them no opportunities . They carry tiny amounts of possessions in an single bag, if that. My cosmetic and paraphernalia bag for a dirty weekend away would dwarf their luggage. To be clear we need to help both, not cower behind 'our own'. |

Are these the same people you called starving.
Are these the same people who having settled in Turkey decide the benefits are better in Germany. Are these the same people who shout Allah Akhbar Are these the same people who flagrantly disobey police instructions. They are not refugees, they are migrants. |

I seem to have broken my gagging order
![]() One more point to make; does Catholic doctrine state that Charity begins and ends at home? I don't think so. Ironically it appears to be the most openly religious on here that are most in denial. It seems you can pick and choose aspects of the teachings that most suits you. Your adoption of the higher moral ground on so many issues stinks. |

And as for this 'emoting' label that gets thrown around, well if James Brown was the Godfather of Soul, the you, Borneo, are the Godfather of Emoting!
I look forward to tomorrows Daily Bleat. And now, Sir, I must get on with my day. Good day to you. |

Catholic doctrine should promote Christian values, inviting in Muslims is lunacy..

That's you in a nutshell, insular.
You remind me of the Holy Men rushing past the beggar lying on the road because he wasn't 'one of their own'. Thankfully for him, The Good Samaritan showed up! |
|
By:
Ozymandius sees himself as The Good Samaritan.
You are a funny kind of Good Samaritan one that hates your own people but have this love of the strange I suppose he thinks giving money to desperate Eastern European women for favours is a noble act. Parading his goodness another noble act. When and until you and that other paragon of virtue the well read RoyalAcademy actually do something I will think of ye grade A hypocrites. |
|
By:
you're good value Wildman pontificating the redneck republican credo, doesn't ring true to me for a second.
as for your sidekick Sancho, I think you enjoy humiliating him without ever the penny dropping you know nothing about me bar some amateur pseudo pyscho-analysis Tallaght High Street....I'm still laughing out loud |
|
By:
We know plenty about you.
You sneer at country people, rednecks in your lingo You sneer at people from Tallaght You do however have a soft spot for the religion of peace, you are caring and compassionate also passionate. |
|
By:
I simply dislike dishonesty and I can spot a bit grandstanding when I see it. I think your a snake oil salesman in preacher's garb.
I have a theory that your betting points to you being mostly a favourite backer in your punting. This completely contradicts the contrarian approach you adopt, albeit very intelligently, on most social issues. It just doesn't ring true to me. I also bridle at pretentious rubbish like "High Street" and it makes me wonder if there isn't an equivalent version of the Ross O'Carroll Kelly lifestyle based on Sancho from Tallaght who wields a golf club as his sword and is faithful to a fault. |
|
By:
That's the typical liberal response,Ozymandius has it in spades.
If anyone has a differing view there is something wrong with them, they have a phobia or mental problems. This intolerance of differing opinions is now so prevalent that RoyalAcademy can't believe it,so " it doesn't ring true " These " redneck " opinions must be discouraged, must be banned. |
|
By:
from your comfortable high horse it doesn't ring true. I would put your in the same box as Dickie Boyd Barrett-pontificating about a cause that he simply finds expedient to further a career. "Uisce" Murphy in the same boat. In your case, its to ridicule all "us" bleeding heart liberals.

It's OK lads the European migrant crisis soon to be over, the Russians are currently building structures at Syrian airports and the other day said they would honour long standing contracts with the Syrians. In a nutshell USA v Russia ! You'll all note how many young single lads there are amongst the migrants. Why ? To gutless to pick a side and fight ! So when WW111 kicks off they'll be gone. You never know we may become the refugees, I'm sure we'll get a warm welcome in North Africa

Homelessness still on the rise.
Surely now is the time to call in those that kindly offered rooms to migrants to ask them to do something similar for their own. Its not as fashionable and is current so watch the scatter. |
|
By:
A not so brilliant article written by someone not educated on the high street of Tallaght.
Lets all go bankrupt, bury the rent money we continue to collect whilst not paying the mortgages we obtained from the state lender, continue bump up rents to excessive limits creating further homelessness in order to fuel another bubble, but not before we can get back into the market at the bottom as a cash buyer off course. The irish fair deal................ |

One of my sons is very involved with helping the homeless , to such a extent that he took over our kitchen last week to cook for them . He tells harrowing stories, lots of people with drink and drug problems , but many who simply cant afford to pay the rents been asked. He was given lots of sleeping bags by Rovers supporters, our house was starting to look like O'Mearas camping at one stage .
The Government are only paying lip service to the problem, one young lady has 3 children and her landlord sold up , which he is entitled to do ,but she was out on the street with nowhere to go and dragging these poor kids with her. They were put up in a hotel room on the north side of the city, the children attend school on the south side , she has no car so the children were missing school as well as been disrupted. This is not a case of drink or drugs, simply a landlord taking the option of selling up.The stress some people are under is unreal, affordable housing is the crux of the matter. |
