2yo races early in the year are 5f and 6f.
Galileo does not produce sprinters.
I can't find a 5f Galileo winner.
Report kincsem July 22, 2015 8:52 PM BST
I think Cuis Ghaire (b.2006) is the only Group winner by Gailleo under 7f.
She won the Albany Stakes (Ascot, Gr 3, 6f), and the Fillies Sprint Stakes (Naas, Listed, 6f).
She was second in the English 1000 Guines to Ghanaati in 2008.
If anyone can add to this let me know.

I don't get mad caught up in the sub 7f at 3 thing with Galileo as all his good quick horses end up as Guineas horses. the Shadwell horse has proven himself to be a good horse winning the July Cup but you'd wager that were Gleneagles to be rerouted to the DeGheest at 6.5f, he'd be a heavy, heavy favourite. Those milers are just a different class of horse to the sprinters in Europe. it's something I quite like about Irish racing that we focus on the quality 1m plus horses.

Take a horse like Mustajeeb, Weld only dropped back sprinting when he knew he couldn't cut it at a mile.
Report neill d July 22, 2015 9:31 PM BST
I wouldn't mind seeing Arod in a weak 6f Group race at the Curragh or Ascot if the ground is lightning.
Report roadrunner46 July 23, 2015 7:42 PM BST
the first GALILEO winner has just won tonight, and by all means has looked the best bet so far, undefeated and trained by the most prolific trainer in the history of horse racing, DEAUVILLE 1ST 9/2.

there was one that raced over the jumps yesterday matched as low as 1.5 IRWink that had very patchy form.
Report roadrunner46 July 23, 2015 9:18 PM BST
since the thread started 20th july has been 9 runners so far in GB and IRE, no point in mentioning the bigger priced losers.
keep this thread going until the end of august. selected these losers because their prices were NOT VALUE SELECTIONS. as with
most things to do with horse racing, opportunities are not only winning horses, also losing horses. the best you can expect is that
the standout picks deliver on the track (are value priced) and the CHAFF gets beat at low prices (best case scenario).

Report roadrunner46 July 23, 2015 9:37 PM BST
the race won tonight by DEAUVILLE tonight has also been won by rip van winkel/ cape blanco/ zoffany/ gleneagles. as i have mentioned earlier
being undefeated and trained by the best in the business, this would be a standout selection, just based on the above variables alone, price
can be perceived as VALUE before the result is known.
Report Vubiant July 24, 2015 11:15 AM BST
Given the history of the Tyros -and  the 2015 field looked a good one - I'm surprised it's only a Gr.3.
Deauville looks a serious beast -more a Derby type than Guineas. Showed immense resolution to beat a smart double winner who got first run and had the rail.
Wouldn't mind owning a leg of this lad.
Report neill d July 24, 2015 12:12 PM BST
He's going to the Futurity I think they said, would remind you a bit of Cape Blanco the way he got down and fought. They're going a similar route but the fact they were going 7f in June and in a race in the Chesham where they never run a good colt would temper enthusiasm.

I see the Weld filly that ran last night is 6's for the Oaks, Weld said after the race she'd never be asked to go beyond a mile. They must just see the silks!

just checked the results and see the money mover last night RECORDER just about scraped home and being entered for group races, not encouraging.
on another note there were 3 winners for GALILEO suppose would of payed over 100/1 at best prices. as for any losers today, no point highlighting
them now.

RECORDER 1ST 13/8

JUPITER STORM 1ST 7/4

TINGELO 1ST 10/1

so there was only 6 runners on the saturday for galileo, two winners on the AW both were unexposed over the longer trips and had positive
write ups because of that and they won consecutive races with the 10/1 shot winning the last race, the other winner was well supported and had
some good entries, also had good trainer w haggas, didnt escape my attention was bred by her royal majesty the QUEEN. shortest price of the day

last winner for GALILEO was on the 1st aug, GRETCHEN winning a listed race by a nose off low weight trained by JG. since then their has
been 18 losers in a row in all codes jumps/flat GB/IRE, there are no runners today, should be a few winners before the end of the week im assuming.
look for the standout picks only, the last winner in ireland that was NOVA 1st 4/1 that just outside the price range of 7/2, as mentioned previously, Wink

anyone can take a look at the entires, and post on here if you fancy one strongly, im sure the lads will appreciate a winner.
Report kingrat August 6, 2015 1:25 PM BST
fields of athenry should win today and maybe go on to win the st leger.
Report ilikewavingatbuses August 6, 2015 2:01 PM BST
All of this info is well and good but what are we supposed to do with it? You're telling us about the bad value losers and big priced winners after the race.

You appear to be cleaning up though so well done to uWink
Report roadrunner46 August 6, 2015 3:15 PM BST
for starters its more efficient (achieving maximum productivity with minimum wasted effort or expense) when your looking at the entries, your
looking for potential winners, you begin to learn slowly "know which way the wind blows"

wouldnt take more than 10/15 mins to check the entries and look at the profiles, something you can do on your own. im just giving a few pointers
to what things can be and are important.

know about the likelihood of certain prices getting beat with shady profiles, which ive learnt from my notebook projectsWink

tonights runner is a standout pick fields of athenery 8/13 against another trainer who has targeted this race in the past (4 wins in a row)
that doesnt scream value at the moment to me, you could argue its 1/10 shot. hopefully will do the business.
Report roadrunner46 August 6, 2015 3:30 PM BST
wouldnt back that one tonight, dont target odds on prices prices, not in a race like that with one maybe two lively outsiders. would be happy
to let that win tonight. possible you can build these odds on shots sometimes into multiple bets on the day.
Report kingrat August 6, 2015 7:47 PM BST
what do you think roadie?he had loads left.its got to go for the english st leger, definitely more improvement to come.we just might get a price on this one.
Report roadrunner46 August 7, 2015 11:47 AM BST
didnt see the race, wouldnt put anyone off backing it for the st leger, picture is not really clear on which horse will have an outstanding chance
in that race at the moment,  WD for putting that winner up. it was good night for AIDEN with 5 winners.
Report roadrunner46 August 10, 2015 4:53 PM BST
so far this month there has been 40 runners AW/JUMPS/FLAT GB/IRE (only 3 winners out of that lot). two of those winners tipped on the forum by KINGRAT and TONY57.

next few days there are a plethora of entries for galileo mainly in irish races and GB. worth checking out over the next few days, have to be disappointed if there are not, a few winners this week.

IF YOU CAN FIND A STANDOUT SELECTION AND POST IT ON HERE, the lads always appreciate a winnerWink
Report roadrunner46 August 11, 2015 10:30 PM BST
was interesting day for GALILEO.

only the two runners today and both in the same race, what was so fascinating was the bookies made the horse with the inferior form and
handicap rating fav. while the winner was drifting out to 11/4 the loser was getting well backed.

LIBBARD'S first 3 runs over 8f / 12f / 9f

MOONLIGHT SONATA first 3 runs 7f / 8f / 10f

can anyone explain why the winner had the best form,, will be interesting to hear any theoriesLaugh todays race was over 12f

another close call yesterday with KINEMA just getting beat by a neck at 10/1 for galileo, was matched 1.3 IR
was beaten by RHOMBUS who was on the 2013 long list and KINEMA is on the 2014 long list and the fav in 3rd.
1400/1 trifecta, must be those exotic wagers people talk about in those racing books.

HIGHLAND REEL 1ST 12/5 wins a group 1 in America, the fav for the race was 6/4 with an American dirt sprinting pedigree, race was over 10f on turf, the most important progeny and highest rated of galileo, all have DANEHILL on the dam side, just like tonights winner, keeps that trend going strong.
