PDFORRA demanding an 80 pound a day allowance for the sailors on the LE Eithne, comparing it to what soldiers in the Lebanon received.

The UN paid this allowance.

The government should reject this demand, not on the basis that its unreasonable but as these sailors are involved in the lucrative trafficking trade surely the traffickers should pay.

Prior to the help of he Irish Navy the traffickers used to have acquire a seaworthy boat, fill it with fuel and head for Italy, the traffickers risked being caught and had a long journey back home.
Now they only need raft or a barge, they need little fuel, they just head for international waters summon the Irish Navy who then do the heavy lifting whilst the traffickers return to port by speedboat and are home for their tea.

Its an efficient system that has made the traffickers lives much easier surely they should pay their hard working helpers.

Grace from Nigeria was delighted with the crew of Le Niamh as they safely delivered newborn baby Destiny. 14 out of the 114 that were taken off that particular ship were pregnant women and despite the fierce atrocities they are fleeing with their lives from they also seemed to have time for other activities.

Mairead McGuinness was on the radio hoping that child would be an Irish citizen.

Do these people ever think these things out.
At the moment traffickers are charging on a per head basis but if they could guarantee Irish citizenship for a baby born on their main smuggling ship that would send the price soaring.
It would also cause a rush of pregnant women to the coast of Libya waiting to avail of the LE Niamh's maternity service.

There seems to be a battle between Frances Fitzgerald and Aodhan O Riordan as regards taking in more immigrants and granting them more allowances and entitlements. Fitzgerald seems very capable and sensible whereas O Riordan, as usual, displays arrogance and deceitfulness when it comes to these issues.

Kingrat I'm not withdrawing support I just don't think they should be involved in criminality.

Its not just RTE that has this group think on this its all the media, its just assumed that this is something to be cooed over.
All discussions start with isint marvellous what the Irish Navy are doing, what wonderful people they are,no differing views allowed.

Aodhan ORiordan would be interested in gesture politics,we know his sneering views on rural Ireland,we know his fondness for running to the police over others words,if there is any justice this zealot will lose his seat in the impending Labour meltdown.

I've have carefully read Frances Fitzgeralds statements and am pleasantly surprised.
