Any particular reason or are you still with the "if two people love each other " line.

Reasons to vote No.

The wording of it is dishonest, its not about equality.
Why redefine marriage, they already have civil union.
The cost, there will be a huge financial cost to the state.
You are bestowing rights without knowing the consequences.
The legal profession are rubbing their hands, prospect of some lucrative divorce cases.
Constitutional lawyers are rubbing their hands, the state will now have to fund homosexual couples in their pursuit of children.
Pension rights, despite claims to the contrary there tends to be huge age discrepancies in these unions as well as wealth discrepancies..
This will have to be taught at school as its now regarded as an equal lifestyle.
Where did the Yes side get their huge funding,it came from America, why?
The group think, all politicians in both houses bar two are in favour, show them we are not sheep.
The people in favour,Bono,Bob Geldof,Sineid OConnor whose letter was similar to the opening post,no explanation just an instruction.

Gays can marry they just like everyone else must marry someone of the opposite sex.
If as seems likely the referendum is carried, the gay lobby won't go away, there will be new demands.
Any man who has children would be stark raving mad to vote for this

What is it about denizens of Dun Laoghaire that makes them feel superior.

A complete inability to argue just give bland instructions.

The infamous letter from the Killiney address was a bald instruction to vote yes from Bono,Bob Geldof,Sinead OConnor and the biggest fraud of all Paul Durcan.
Premier Fantasy another Dun Laoghaire resident similarly here just gives out an instruction and does so in a patronising way.

Dun Laoghaire was always a place of sadness, the Mail Boat and a band playing Farewell To Erin its now the capital of liberal intolerance.

Laugh I am not from Dun Laoghaire and only venture down there during the summer to the seafront, hope this helps old chap - the town is still a kip and pretty much a ghost town these days although they're trying to sort that out I believe

I have faith though the good working class residents of Dun Laoghaire and it's surrounding areas will emphatically vote "YES" Grin
Report wildmanfromborneo May 22, 2015 9:37 AM BST
Its not only a town its a borough.

The trendy liberals will all vote Yes but the No votes will come from the few working class areas.

Report tony57 May 22, 2015 10:00 AM BST
none of my business how Ireland voted...but I have sympathy with Wildman..he makes valid points about the yes lobby but I can tell him ..over here it has not made a big difference(like others I was not for it as long as civil partnerships done the job for gay men and women)I know 2 gay couples who were against this..as they think civil partnerships gives them all they need, but times have changed, and sometimes Wildman we have to accept it and move on..
Report wildmanfromborneo May 22, 2015 10:01 AM BST
You know your own area, the breakdown will be interesting.

I think there will be the usual urban rural divide.
I also think there will be a class divide albeit not nearly as pronounced.

Hard to believe you are from a working class area yet get the Luas in Sandyford.
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y May 22, 2015 10:06 AM BST
So it's made no real difference over there Tony but Wildman makes valid points? Seems contradictory to me as if his points are valid it would make a huge difference, though the majority of the country knows what he says will happen won't Grin
Report wildmanfromborneo May 22, 2015 10:07 AM BST
Tony57 all are welcome to comment.

There is a huge difference though as Gay marriage here is being enshrined in our constitution, its also going in under the family, this bestows rights.
The rapacious lawyers are already getting ready to sue the state claiming homosexual couples have the right to " beget children ",This not alone means surrogacy but it means we will have to pick up the tab.

Another unforeseen consequence could be the demand for gay asylum seekers to get here to avail of this exclusive free service.
Report freddiek May 22, 2015 10:08 AM BST
the massive propaganda and intimidation campaign from the YES side should have delivered a clear and large majority in their favour

if the margin in favour turns out to be a slim one it will be a moral victory for the NO side and the plain people of Ireland.

unfortunately i can't see a NO vote being returned.

the valid points premier are the ones on the family and surrounding kids..and whats taught in school..it will all have a knock on effect..over here schools can choose what is taught so kids getting told 2 dads is normal..when its not..can be refined..to 2 people who love each other of the same sex etc...can you not see how people can object to this especially people of faith?..i just point out one problem..?
Report wildmanfromborneo May 22, 2015 10:30 AM BST
You weren't walking passed the stop but sin sceal eile.

The fact that you don't see a difference between Gay marriage in Britain and Gay marriage here shows how shallow your thinking is and why you can't make any rational argument.
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y May 22, 2015 10:30 AM BST
Why is it always 2 dads that's mentioned, is it just homosexual men you all and the "no" campaign object to? What about 2 mothers?

I have not heard that mentioned once, either on here or by any "no" campaigners.

Maybe my school was odd but they never thought me anything about what was normal as re families or anything like that

Report wildmanfromborneo May 22, 2015 10:35 AM BST
For the obvious reasons.

With two men there is a mother who is dealt out.
We are always being told about gender balance, quotas for women but in the one area gender balance is necessary this liberal constant is trumped by the new tyranny.

Tis you that is tied in knots.

With two women( only one mother ) it is generally a sperm donor,he doesn't care where his seed goes so is not dealt out, this is not the case with two men.
There is a mother involved, generally impoverished and generally heartbroken when the contract is enforced, reference the recent case in England where the judge accused the mother of breast feeding the baby to thwart the gay couple.

My recollection was a discussion over Dustin and you saying maybe in jest that you weren't a neighbour,my other recollection was you mentioning Ballybrack.

I never said i was from Ballybrack and that is fact as i know exactly where i am from, was brought up and where where i live now and am not ashamed of any of them.
You have just made it up that i said that and everybody can see that as if i had have said that you would have brought the thread up to show me up but unfortunately for you it is me who is telling the truth.
I have never had a sheltered privileged life, my family where not well off at all growing up (they done their best though) and although it was my choice not to go to college my mother says they would have really struggled had i decided to go down that route. Thankfully for my younger sister things had improved when she reached the school leaving age and was able to continue her education. There has also been major illness and deaths in my immediate family.
So for once stop making things up, stop making out you know people on here you have never met and actually do not know anything about.

As for yesterdays referendum i said over and over i actually did not really care about it in all honesty hence why i voted "yes" for equality. I actually think a 21 year old being President is ludicrous but i voted "yes" for that too as if i was voting "yes" for equality in the same sex referendum if would not be too clever voting "no" in the other.
Report wildmanfromborneo May 23, 2015 10:44 AM BST

You seem to have had a nice childhood but getting yourself into a tizzy about basically nothing, losing sleep over something so trivial would make me worry about your ability to handle any hardship.

I am not in a tizzy either, i just don't like people who makes things up about others and post them as if they're fact when they know zero about that person, hence i do not like you.
I would say most would relate that line towards wealth, privileged upbring??
