Amazing the amount of times Jordan birdies the 18th. Class act.

Kirks drive on 18 is not making it easy. Playoff looks likely now IMO. And if Kirk gets too cute with second shot....he may not even be in it.

WD callit.
Disappointing Sunday for my team. Molinari failing to close again and Poulter comes up short in a strkeplay event again. |

Cheers Apple.
Poulters driving was horrendous. How he finished within two is a mystery. And hugely infuriating for backers. |

Alberto Contador (Giro) & Lehman (Seniors) yankees with Walker, Freddie, Kirk & Ogilvy in Hogan's Alley Kirk and Jimenez in the bag with 4 stages to go for Alberto to collect doubles/trebles. Had this typed & ready to post but it never made it to press. Only Ben Hogan has defended his title at Colonial. He did it twice. There’s not much wonder why this place has the nickname “Hogan’s Alley”. Course Architect in 1936 was Perry Maxwell – he was the driving force behind Augusta National after Alistair Mackenzie’s death and it’s not a coincidence that two of the last three winners here have been green jacket winners. Of the last seven winners here, five have been major champs while in the last six events on the PGA TOUR, a player ranked in the top 15 OWGR has won. Had Spieth and Scott in mind but they didn't make the cut as we went for the four above in the end. Chris Kirk 75 on Sunday saw his 54-hole lead at THE PLAYERS evaporate and T13 might have taken him off the radar. Not me. He likes Colonial as he closed with 65 here in 2012 for T5 and fired a second round 64 last year (T14) to make him a perfect five-from-five in his career. Last time in Texas at SHO Chris posted T8 result and he played well last time out at THE PLAYERS (T13). His recent record at Colonial is good with three top 16s in his last four starts including a T5 in '12. Chris went cold in February and March but now has top 35s in each of his past four stroke-play events. He doesn't rely on distance or scoring on par 5s, so short par 70 tracks are right up his alley. His record of 5-for-5 cuts here with three top 25s doesn't hurt either, when it comes to striking a bet. |
