17.05 Downpatrick -Young Dillon 7/2 ew (8 runners is a worry)
Course form often important at these quirky turning tracks and was seriously impressive winning a bumper here by 15 lengths with mine now fourth (that form can't be taken at face value obviously though).
He fared better than the result on his hurdling debut over 2m 4f in soft ground at Mallow after chasing a strong pace, with normal improvement for his hurdling debut and better ground it's difficult to see him not going close. Ibsen has his first run for Gordon Elliot at a track where his runners are to be noted.
Ripon 20.05 -Sarpech
He looks a decent bet at 5/4 tomorrow evening at Ripon,unsuited by a steady pace on the AW (Prescott's horses often unsuited by muddling pace on AW ) but still pulled 7 lengths clear of the third over 12 furlongs on handicap debut. The winner that day had previously racked up a hatrick of wins from a mark of 66 and won this race of 59,the overall profile of the winner and placed horses is solid for a moderate level.
A Sea the stars gelding and a half brother to Youmzain and Creachadoir runs of the same mark tomorrow but over 2 miles. His 2 main contenders are having their seasonal debuts,he's uncomplicated and can make the running if there is no pace. TBH I think he will demolish this lot from a mark of 70 and should be odds on.

The unexposed Cairde aris is also overpriced for the previously mentioned streaky John Kiely,when the yard is in form they tend to all run well and this unexposed definite article gelding has more potential than most in this. Trainer has an excellent record at Mallow showing a LSP with an impressive course 33 winners for a small stable. Controversial previous run over course and distance when perhaps tenderly handled.

The play definitely looks to be to take Unic De Bersey on as he didn't do much right in Tipp the last day. He's making the market for two live contenders against him.

Luck isn't great at the moment and probably shouldn't be looking at one when you know he has a bit of a quirky side still BattleoftheBoyne 6.10 is in fair current form and isn't doing anything wrong,quirky side i think was shown in Navan where it seemed to me he thought he done enough.Rated at one stage in the mid 90's he is off 60 today,also lashing in Cork and it's down for the day which will be in his favour.
A lot of dross in the race but in this grade(47-65)you can expect a shock result at times,still hoping he can be produced at the right time an looks an ew bet at 5/1 to me.

I know that Ed Dunlop thought last season Prince Gagarin was the best two year old he had in years. His only poor run was when taken off his feet on hard ground in York but he bounced back again on softer ground. His form isn't far off the front two who I think are very beatable horses and he is the type to improve as a 3yo. He has the perfect pilot in Adam Kirby to dictate from the front also.
I couldn't believe battler didn't win at Navan, Pa. Might have a piece of that.

I backed Battleroftheboyne in Navan and worse again i backed it the previous year again in Navan when it was 1.15 in the photo betting and still lost.

Young Dillion comes from a stable that has them ready to run for their lives first time out. They couldnt sell him after his bumper win which says it all. The fav in the race is no good either so if Elliott has his ready to rock he would probably win.
Be no surprise if "Battler"(haha)Neill doesn't find one or more too good but still if he isn't thereabouts i'd be very disappointed,given a poor run myself lately was going to leave him go but the rain batin off the window thought it would suit him more than most,we'll see,have to buck up anyway maybe the brain is a bit overloaded with elections and referendums and the horsey part has suffered,best of luck.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Young Dillon has changed ownership despite running in the same silks. She would have got him away last year if she needed to and she doesn't keep many in her own name. That the horse remains in the yard suggests to me another owner is involved.
If the ground isn't too soft Magical Moon is a horse that is overpriced @ 25's. He has run well in better races than this off his mark. He doesn't like to win but is the type to nick a place.

He got no run in that Navan race BWS when going well,on bare book has a bit to find though 4lb better in,couldn't discount him,best of luck,me bed is made though.

Some w hore of a racetrack at Chester..why do good horses go there? Good prize money? Heard AOB say the surface was good, someone else said its a good test of balance ahead of Epsom.....

The obituary of Bryan Cooper can be set aside for the moment. There was nothing wrong with his bottle at the fifth last on Le Grand Chene. Hopefully it’s the start of his return to form.

That must be right up there with the worst of bumpers ever run in Ireland. Nina’s body language the whole way suggested they were keeping it as simple as possible to try and get home. The hounds wouldn’t look at the rest of them.
Always check the weather where ever you go,12 Furlongs to 16 furlongs on good ground maybe but not in a bog also.
There are dangers of trying to get on at early prices also.

In terms of racing analysis I would say Tolmi’s posts are the best. There were a few notable posters who have left the scene for obvious enough reasons. This place resembles play school at times (see above posts).
The reason we were coupled, Borneo, was that I offered to help you up on stage to receive the award. On condition that we were listed in order of all round excellence.
I actually think the omission of New Approach is an oversight. It's not his fault that the Tralee branch of Opus Dei got their claws into him at an early age, he remains a bright fellow.
