Flat bred I think so I wonder would there be a question about scope. Staying hurdling route might be the way to go. Annie Power and more of That might not even be there.

He won a grade one today but I doubt he will win many/any more tbh. Might get an easy Fighting Fifth.

Hardly call Jezki flat bred,National Hunt bred through and through.

Doubt he will ever jump a fence. And I certainly wouldn't expect him to be a better chaser than hurdler, nor as good even. Very little scope there.

As I have said many times before, he is a proper good horse, he is far form being a great one.

Breeding doesn't add scope. He wont make a chaser. And I doubt he will go chasing.

Callit,Have u never heard or seen a horse make a chaser who lacked "scope"??
To my eye Jezki could easily make a chaser.
Overturn been a prime example. And thats just one example.

Nothing in the family has really made a chaser despite all having big engines.

It's not that he couldn't jump a fence but rather he wouldn't be athletic enough for top chases. True chasers typically only spend 1 or 2 seasons max over hurdles. It can be hard to make an effective change in discipline when they have spent so long trying to hurdle at championship pace.
Report callitasucit April 11, 2015 12:03 PM BST
There are exceptions Chelt. Personally I just don't see him as a chaser. A lot of good hurdlers, you find yourself saying, "I cant wait to see him over a fence".

I have never remotely thought that about Jezki, nor I doubt has anyone else. Suggests it is very unlikely he will improve for them, most likely he wont be as good. And he is not improving as an animal either.

As TTK said he has 3 campaigns over the small ones. I doubt they intended ever going chasing, and if they do now its a desperation measure. Which sounds a bit silly after he has just won a Grade One, but you know what I mean!!

All only my opinion of course.
