Most races lately including beginners and bumpers are now priced up the night before,no way i'm suggesting that it is possible to have a substantial sum on but ricks are glaring and worth for any one having a bet to take note of these markets. Whether "playing your hand early" or actually getting on is a moot point but my conclusion is they don't know what they are doing without a liquid betfair market.
A few examples(correct from memory)
Romantic Fashion 7/4,2/1- sp 4/5
The Dancing Lord 8/5 after r4- sp evs
Kindly Vinnie 5/1-sp 7/2
Patanne 3/1-sp 5/4
Jumptoconclusions 7/2,3/1- sp?

They are more and that is a recent sample with winners and losers but big discrepancies all the same.

C'mon Pa so you're suggesting a circa 5.5% move for a horse is a rick? And 8/5 to evens after a rule 4 is likewise ?

I'll be impressed if jumpingtoconclusions significantly shortens. GL
Report neill d March 22, 2015 11:48 AM GMT
Ruby said in yesterday's examiner that he thought Patanne would win, in a bumper at this time of year there is no need for me to dwell on that significance 2 yrs on or not. I'm no expert but 3/1 on that was shocking.
Report Rocketfingers March 22, 2015 11:48 AM GMT
You're flagging a horse that has already been backed ffs, i thought you were flagging up one that was wrong and you were telling us about it pre-money Cry.
Report neill d March 22, 2015 11:49 AM GMT
Haven't really looked at the rest of em', I understand he was off 2 years but still.
Report pa lapsy March 22, 2015 11:56 AM GMT
I'm not flagging anything RF except i strongly believe they are considerably "out" in their prices at times and worth taking note of.
Report dj876 March 22, 2015 12:01 PM GMT
Generally only 365 and PP price up Irish racing the night before, what surprises me is if the OP finds it so easy to identify these ricks, how come PP will stay lay him to a liability of approx. €1000 on overnight prices. (as discussed on a previous thread via the max button)

Am I missing something or has PP's software defaulted on your a/c?
Report Rocketfingers March 22, 2015 12:03 PM GMT
Sure of course, no one is going to be right everytime though, 5/1 to 7/2 does not mean the original price was a rick though.
Report Rocketfingers March 22, 2015 12:07 PM GMT
Ha he can still get €1000 on these glaring ricks, says it all dj.

jumptoconclusions was 2/1 when the thread was put up and was available at 11/4 with PP last night for a few minutes so a bit disingenuous to suggest that he was 7/2.

There are plenty of ricks on overnight prices but this isn't a new revelation and they're there for certain punters only.

Report pa lapsy March 22, 2015 12:13 PM GMT
Someone very rightly got you in a nutshell yesterday Rocketfingers that you are all that is wrong with the Irish forum, your low attention span is alive and kicking in regards your inability to follow basic betting,ie getting a k onn to a liability of a k.
I really don't know DJ,it is an account i've been careful in how i use.
Report Rocketfingers March 22, 2015 12:20 PM GMT
Pa don't attack the poster attack the post mate, now you have rightly being flagged up for starting a thread where you have tried to once again show you are a shrewdy or the self proclaimed best odds compiler on the forum, your flagging moves after they occur, anyone can do that, fgs you even flagged a 5/1 - 7/2 horse as a rick, it's not a rick. I think your looking for attention tbh. As Dj says PP will still stand to lose you a grand on these over night prices and that imo says it all really about your ability to spot over night ricks.
Report pa lapsy March 22, 2015 12:27 PM GMT
14 hours 11/4 was with PP and not a few minutes Dj,you can double check that again.
My sole intention with this thread Rocketfingers was pointing out that the books aren't getting it quite right all the time, nothing more and if you want to keep on attacking it do,no wonder people don't bother.
Report dj876 March 22, 2015 12:29 PM GMT
Where was the 7/2 Pa and nothing in your original post refers to the fact that he was 2/1 best price when you started the thread? As I said a bit disingenuous to me but maybe he was 7/2 somewhere ??
Report Rocketfingers March 22, 2015 12:31 PM GMT
God your so smart Pa, thanks for pointing this out that bookmakers don't get every horse spot on. As i said pa i would be massively impressed if you were coming on here and flagging up horses that were wrong before the move, then i and i am sure everybody else on the forum would certainly give you the adulation you are so greatly craving mate.
Report pa lapsy March 22, 2015 12:36 PM GMT
So you admit he was 11/4 for 14 hours and not the few minutes you claimed?
He was 7/2 with Betfair Sportsbook, the horses that were put up all lost except one, whether Jumptoconclusions wins or not is academic but 7/2(probably for very little) or 11/4 is certainly better than the sp he will be and is the gist of that the books are a bit out.
Report pa lapsy March 22, 2015 12:38 PM GMT
I,ve no intention these days of trying to massively impress you Rocketfingers, you are beneath contempt.
Report richters March 22, 2015 12:40 PM GMT
dj will you be lumping the 11 euro for 2 on the nicholls beast in the first at wincanton, thats your sorta price innit.....
Report Rocketfingers March 22, 2015 12:46 PM GMT
Of course you are not pa because you can't spot these ricks until after the move has happened Sad and that is why PP entertain you to that tune mate. Like it or not Pa that is the truth.
Report dj876 March 22, 2015 12:47 PM GMT
Ah Pa,that's scraping the barrel, how much can you or anyone get on with BF sportsbook?

Great thread, WD and very astute of you to identify all these ricks. Jumptoconclusions 7/2-3/1-2/1 would have been more suitable

You'd wonder how PP made €170 million last year when they accommodate Pricewise Pa on overnight prices.
Report freddiek March 22, 2015 12:49 PM GMT
rocket, pa gets enough attention here for being a shrewd judge.

you get the other type of attention, for being an effing idiot.
Report easygold March 22, 2015 12:55 PM GMT
Your right Pa, but hey keep this low-key, these guy`s read these thread`s and we don`t want them thinking their tissue prices are close to s.p. So just let this happen, and just get the value out there. As we all know value is the key. You can back horses at a price but back horses at the wrong price t/out the year you will be a loser.
Report pa lapsy March 22, 2015 12:56 PM GMT
Thread was started with a view towards giving prices which  i thought were a bit out in future racing,i get it wrong at times but would have had no qualms doing it as it would have been an interesting thread, the negativity towards it has shocked me a bit and no point in bothering with it.
Report dj876 March 22, 2015 12:56 PM GMT

Pa.....these firms dont have odds compilers any more.....well not in the old fashioned sense at least.....
What happens now is that the prices are put up the night before as a feeler.....and they know they are littered with mistakes....sometimes intentional ones.....they know well that they arent laying these prices to much.....and they will always attract people who know more than them and are willing to give them a card mark for very little.....
A gorilla could spot these mistakes but nobody will be allowed capitalise.....
Report easygold March 22, 2015 1:14 PM GMT
Yes Bet365, but not P.P or Boyles?? I can assure u that.
Report Rocketfingers March 22, 2015 1:16 PM GMT
Spot on Send in the clowns, if someone put up 10 horses and they all lost but all shortened significantly i would be the first person on here defending him actually i would probably defend them if the horses simply shortened. Not sure why Pa actually feels the need to fish for compliments like this, would guess ego reasons, much better way is to look at the balance on your betting a/c's imo but each to their own !!

Report paulie wallnuts March 22, 2015 1:27 PM GMT
They arent really odds compilers though.....just relations of trainers etc who wouldnt know their arrse from a hole in the ground.....they wouldnt last pisssing time betting on their own opinion....

So, a forumite comes on and suggests it could be worthwile for punters to specialise a bit more in the bumper and beginner chase races as they are priced up overnight now, and may contain more price ricks than the handicaps do, in general.

An interesting point that some other enthusiasts might not have been aware of, despite the negative response......

Disgraceful treatment of pa who was just making a point of interest. Whether you agree with him or not, there is no need to ridicule and belittle him.

No suprise by the main protagonists though:
Dj - who has never had anything positive to say on here
Rocket - who seems to have little interest in sport but solely interested in fanning the flames of argument and dispute

Which of my points were unfair?

a)Overnight prices are a gimmick and only available to a certain set of punters?

b)How is PA able to get a bet on with a liability of a thousand on overnight prices for a sustained period?

c)A more honest portrayal of jumping to conclusions price would be 11/4 --2/1-- SP?? instead of 7/2-- 3/1---SP?? Clearly leaving out that when thread was initiated he was currently best priced 2/1?

d)Can anyone get a bet on with BF sportsbook

A lot of extremely basic points being made by frauds like easygob on here who charges extortionate prices to desperadoes and is constantly spamming about historical profits.

A topic on overnight prices should be self explanatory to most on here but it seems not.

How do paddy power make profits of 170 million laying pricewise pa?

This was a smug comment in which you made no attempt to tackle the issue but attack the poster instead. Everyone on this forum knows pa is one of the shrewdest racing brains on here. One of the few who still puts up selections on a regular basis. People like you making stupid comments like that only discourage people off the forum, something which has happened too regularly in the past
Report easygold March 22, 2015 3:08 PM GMT

Report TellTheKing March 22, 2015 3:10 PM GMT
Overnight prices may be a gimmick but if you don't abuse them then they can be a goldmine.

My current B365 account (six months old) is in profit of over two grand. Nine out of ten bets I have on it are horses whose SP are much shorter than the price I take. However, I was still able to have a ton e/w on an 8/1 shot last week (SP 5/2) and it didn't prevent two further bets being taken.
Report pa lapsy March 22, 2015 3:14 PM GMT
Easygold, think you have a good idea what i was trying to say and maybe you are right.
Paulie Walnuts 13.12, a constructive post, agree with a bit of study they aren't hard to spot, but still has to be done.Getting on is another thing and was in my opening post.
Going through your questions dj
A you will always get something on.
B I don't know as said an account i,ve been very careful with, never max button and not too much on a standout price, the account is in profit.
C A pedantic point really it is purely academic and was only highlighting that it was a wrong price and no subterfuge was intended on my part.
D Not really and seldom used,E9.38 was max allowed on Jumptoconclusions at 7/2, still if able to get on their concession of a free bet with a 3/1 winner is good,Haven't used it bar maybe a small bet or two before Cheltenham but getting bits on with them has a profit of E300 since Cheltenham,an account i,m getting a little bit of a kick out of.
A thread i wish i hadn't started and will certainly be doing my own thing.

The aptly named jumptoconclusions opened with the main high street bookmakers like Powers going 11/4 Boyles went 9/4 horse starts at 15/8, this rick did not even move a point in reality. Pa is now threatening to not give us anymore of this inside information, ffs you could not make it up as the horse is beaten over 10L into 3rd.
