Mordin's columns in the Weekender and Irish Field disappeared mid-October, returned at the end of the year, and have not appeared for the last couple of weeks. As to why, your guess is as good as mine.

Read in early Feb that he got a job abroad with a big organisation.
Sorry to hear we hall be denied his output but good luck to him; I had feared he was seriously ill. He has been the most influential racing pundit since Phil Bull.

I only bought the Racing Post Weekender for the Nick Mordin page. His article in the Sporting Life Weekender in May 1992 was a classic. He reduced the Derby field of nineteen to five possibles, four ran, finishing 1,2,4,11. He upped the analysis game. He gave reasons. Right or wrong he gave reasons. Good luck. He deserves an MBE.
