He didn't run Ted Veale last year in the Grand Annual as he said 146 was too high but will he take his chance this year of 140.He is also entered in the Arkle again and in the County Hurdle (which he won of 134 two years ago beating Tennis Cap in the rain softened ground). He looks in decent form recently with a third in the **** hurdle and an eyecatching run at Christmas in a grade 1 when dead heating with a below par Vautour behind Clarcam. He would carry 11-1 in this if his stablemate was to run and 19.0 could look value in a couple of weeks.
Quick Jack would also be a very interesting runner in the County Hurdle (20.0) or Martin Pipe as his hurdle rating has undoubtedly being protected to land a pot. He has won over C+D in November 13 and has since only ran once over hurdles when travelling well behind Gilgamboa in the Pierse Hurdle last year. The English handicappers have raised him to 125 (Martin thinks is harsh) and he has showed his well being winning on the flat at Galway last summer with ease and placed in the Cesarewith at Newmarket.
Stable is obviously always interesting in big handicaps and he has plenty of entries to keep an eye on including Blackmail,Noble Emperor (Honest owner/trainer combo)living next door, gallant oscar, marinero, mydor, savello and the recently acquired and aptly named no secrets.
The interesting thing about Cheltenham handicaps in the last couple of years is the compression of the weights. It makes it a very difficult balancing act for a trainer who is trying to plot one...

Edeymi hasn't been mentioned yet, would appear to have a great chance also in the pertemps. He had a very eye catching run last time in a qualifier @ musselburgh under a 7lb claimer. You'd be hopeful he would stay given he won a big handicap over 2 miles @ Galway this year. Has also ran a cracker off the same mark in the fred winter 3 years ago. I'd say he would be the best of tony's chances @ the festival this year.
