Those Harrington back nines on the last day are something else.

Carnoustie
Birkdale
US PGA course has slipped my mind.

Now twice in the Honda Classic.

I had £10 on Berger at 170 before the start. Had £200 on Padraig in playoff. He cost me money but fair play to him. Plenty of bottle!

Callit , a review of Reeds bottle required....?

I wouldn't think so. A sample size of one is of no relevance to anything. He has proved he can convert winning opportunities at a high rate. That rate remains high after today. He just didn't play too well today, yet hung in there until the last few holes. Backers would be disappointed, but I would not even consider questioning  his bottle.

People like Poulter, they are a different scenario. Sample size fairly large there. Conversion rate very low.

Last couple of holes last night , he seemed to become ragged and got lucky with a couple of chips imo , today he again comes to the fore ,and guess what...Maybe hes not the player you think , not saying he wont do the business in future , just seemed to lose focus where it mattered last couple of days...

There is no player out there though that hasn't fuc ked a tournament away. Looking at the bigger picture, Reed has closed out very successfully.

How many tournaments has Rory lost from a similar position? DJ, Stenson, Rose, Phil, Bubba, Fowler, Day, even the odd blip from Tiger......Reeds conversion rate suggests he will close the deal more frequently than most. Being human suggests he will also lose a couple.

I don't say he is better than any of them listed above, but he seems to have the priceless ability of being pretty damn good at closing the deal.

If Westwood had his bottle, he would be a multiple major winner. As POD said before, consistency is the most over rated thing in golf. Dead right. Give me a winner anyday.

Honestly, couldn't wait for the final 4 holes on MONDAY afternoon before having a bet
so backed DANIEL BERGER in 5 places and Win markets on 'ere at 5's and 110's
Roll on ‘The Bear Trap’ tomorrow afternoon...stranger things CAN happen in golf !

Have no doubts about it, but THE BEAR TRAP is very significant in this tournament !

Reminder to self...
WAIT for last nine holes to have a bet in this 'CLASSIC' in 2016 Devil

Congrats to all who kept the faith and reaped the reward. Hope Deplasterer was on.
Delighted to be wrong. Am a huge admirer of Harrington but didn't think he had another PGA win in him.
Thought he would do well to get a top 10 here. Immense drama and the right result!

He was on the long list, alas he didn't make the shortlist.

490 was available pre-tourney.

Daniel Berger started the final round 9 shots back, just goes to show how the final few holes at PGA National Champions Course can change matters.

AND THE WINNER IS...

Yeah, Mike was very handy. He says he will have an option of getting just the SGB sheets available shortly. The other stuff is all geared towards the Fantasy players, and not published til Tue/Wed. No good when trying to snaffle some early value.

Harrington interview was amusing after he won.I quote "when i get in contention i can hit the shots".What were you doing on 17 first time round Paudie?
By:
Kelly
When: 03 Mar 15 00:03
Wondered at that myself , by purpose . Lots of those who bet the threes on Padraig must have been distraught at that shot , the last thing you do is hit water , there is no way back ( unless your name is Bill Haas).
By:

When: 03 Mar 15 10:21
There was a way back and he found it.

'twas the same in Carnoustie, twice he found water on the final hole but managed a brilliant up and down followed by four perfectly played extra holes.

He was and probably still is the best back nine on the last day player you will ever see.

Harringtons three majors were won with those brilliant back nines,he had that look but he was definitely clean.

It appears now the worlds greatest golfer needed some help in those major victories.

Rumour, relating to recent withdrawal, unrelated to major winning era, since denied and retracted, duly presented here, in trademark fashion, as likely truth.

Not true Ozy its his relationship with a certain doctor who dealt in steroids.
By:
wildmanfromborneo
When: 03 Mar 15 12:39
Ozy obviously has a problem with the word appears.

He is so set in his ways he just sees what he wants to see.
By:
callitasucit
When: 03 Mar 15 13:37
It didn't really 'appear' that that was the case though. Just because some jealous, limited waster comes out with it, doesn't mean it should be presented as even close to a possibility.

I'm not saying categorically that he has never taken anything, I cant know that. But just because some gob sh1te says it, shouldn't in my mind lead one to think that...'It appears now the worlds greatest golfer needed some help in those major victories'.

Dr Anthony Galea was Woods doctor,he is a steroid doctor.

He was caught smuggling human growth hormones into America.

It is guilt by association but that seems the way for all the moralists who want to tear down Irish sporting heroes.
