See some twit resident is attempting to force Clonliffe College from making their grounds available to those of us who have found the facility invaluable over many years . Croke Park has been there for so long I doubt any resident has actually bought a house in ignorance of the possibilities associated with the positioning of their property .
I have always parked in Clonliffe if it was open on match days , it affords "safe" parking and is only a short walk away from Croker , and picnics there pre match are invariable good craic given the humanity associated with most GAA fans and the good natured banter etc . The fact that the Archdiocese of Dublin cops a few quid on these occasions does not disturb me , and the availability of worship for those interested was another plus in the days when I attended matches regularly .
Being adjacent to sporting or entertainment venues brings with it benefits as well as minuses . Residents would do well to consider where the 3000 vehicles which park regularly in Clonliffe on match days would find alternative parking .
