With Ozy gone, and Snap now having decided to follow suit, two of the best characters on here have gone.
Regardless what anyone said about either, Oz was one funny fuc ker, and Snaps threads got more traffic in a day than most others do all week.
Get the feeling it'd gonna be a lot quieter on here in the future. Not much fun in everyone agreeing with each other!!

Snap takes a long break every year like most fishermen - no choice when he reaches his quota
Ozy was battle weary - fighting on too many fronts recently - probably needed to recharge Pa will be on when he sees a value bet/price |

Pa did mention in the aborted comp with Snap, that he would be away a particular week. Unfortunately I feel the other two may be lost forever  He may come back on to snaffle that 1-5 Frank....so best to act fast!! |

You can only speak as you find and i must admit that i have always found Ozy pleasant company...a sad loss imo.
If he has gone however i can only hope his absence is a self imposed one...for the thought of him incarcerated in a home made dungeon in Paulie's cellar is a disturbing one. |

I can't work that phrase out Vubiant.
The more posters the better so I lament the loss of any poster although I doubt we have lost any. Callitasucit is a top notch poster,his golf write ups alone show that but he has let himself down badly here. I also thought Snap whilst being a skitter knew his stuff. Callitasucit was a sterling defender of Snap which normally would be fair enough but it would now seem they are one and the same. His quoting of odds on Snap returning is dishonest as that is in his control. |

wildman i can tell you with certainty that they are not!!..snap had the courage to put up tips and face the inevitable ridicule if they got beaten.his one weakness is over confidence in his tips.callit is the same.puts them up and fcuk the begrudgers..both are good for the forum and iff snap is gone hes a big loss..personally i could never "get" oz so im not sorry hes gone.i hope pa returns soon.hes very good on irish racing.best here.

correct workrider but as i said on another thread a while back i think snap was either trying to ramp horses or lure people in to a tipping comp for money with people think they were taking on some spastic (snap) when infact you would be playing callit or whoever....how many times did you see snap challenge people to a head to head for cash??

Of course callitascuit is not snap crackle and pop......the people who are saying that are normally the ones who when receive abuse claim the abusers are linked.....they cant stomach the fact that more than one person thinks they are an idiot....

Just turned on the irish forum and reading this thread it seems that Ozy is not missed at all,.. having said that i can see ozy at the edge of his armchair reading this and itching to give his twopence worth,..off to see the hot fav to win the best picture Oscar ..Boyhood.

His pictures are incredibly funny.....and he is far and away the most articulate poster on here.... Just because hes not in the mutual adoration society.....and isn't part of the back slapping that goes on amongst about half a dozen or so other regulars.....makes him somewhat of an outsider on here.....but that doesn't mean I have to dislike him..... |

His sycophancy was legendary,don't you remember the wooing of Rocketfingers,the praising of his virility,the asking of other posters to join his group. He did tell us his life story the fact it was a pretend one is neither here nor there,many times he stated he wasn't a racing man. His persona here was an act,it wasn't even an original one he nicked it from the racing forum. He tried to emulate Alain Charnier with his quaffing of expensive wines in exotic places,the difference was Charnier knew his wines whereas poor old Ozymandius was drinking the wrong wine with the wrong food. Paulie you don't have to like him but he canvassed you got you kind of in his gang and loved when you attacked posters he didnt like. |

My own take on Ozy departure is , Johnjo thread , been accused in his opinion , of not contributing to a jockey suffering from PARALYSIS was the final nail in his coffin ....I have always felt Ozy had a promlem with , shall we say movement ,on here day and night in the best of weather ...Me and him have had some smashing fights , said all kind of things , him about my Daughters , me about his Mother etc , yet none of this ever made him leave the forum ... Yet a simple thing like been accused of not making a contribution to Johnjos appeal broke the camels back , no pun intened either...Take what you will from that....

I would strongly disagree here WM. If I knew you, or you me, I would be rightly pissed off. As it is, I could put it down to poor judge of character, which doesn't surprise with a few of the 'likely lads' on here, but I accredited you with being a better judge. Frank mentioned he thought it was 1-10 that Snap would reappear before the months end, I disagreed, saying I would be willing to lay 1-5. Frank could back what he perceived to be a 1.1 shot at 1.2. He would have been betting on his opinion, as would I. I have no control over Snap, or what he does. As with every other bet I place, I would have been happy to bet on my opinion. Turns out I was wrong, and Frank was indeed right, and would have collected. As for me and Snap being in 'cahoots' over any tipping challenge, that is equally absurd. Snap mentioned me as being a candidate to 'mind' the prize, as I would be one of the few on here that don't seem to begrudge his success as a punter. Pa, being one of the few others that I have conversed with off this forum, would probably have had no problem with that, or my integrity. I never put myself forward for any 'challenge', nor would I be a ringer for someone else, as quite simply I wouldn't fancy my chances. I have fu ck all interest in the mundane day to day racing these days, and certainly don't have the time to invest to a point where I would think I could be ahead of the game on such events. If it was for one of the festivals I would be willing to play, as I would think I could do myself justice. To those who question my backing of Snap, its the same as I have done in many other situations before. I have stood up for many a poster, Pa, Kav, Huddys, Ozy, Paulie, Tony, even Pre Fat.....and have also had many a disagreement with all of the same. Unlike most on here, I play the situation, not the poster. I am not a 'team member', but can have a view on a situation without worrying if I am disagreeing with someone I a supposed to always agree with. The argument about Snap has always been one and the same, which is why I have consistently responded in similar tone. I have my opinion, and I believe I am right, and will argue as such. More on here should sometimes try and play the ball, not always the man. Lose the blinkers, and simply call it as you see it. |
