I think Blood Cotil is the bet of the weekend in the 1.00. 6-5 surely underestimates his chance. By quite a bit imo.
The form of his chase debut looks all the better for Gilgamboas Limerick romp, and he certainly meets nothing of that calibre here. I was against BC last time, as I didnt think he would stay. That proved to be the case, having travelled sweetly, he found very little from the back of the last. Again he was beaten by a superior type to what he meets today. Back to 2m today, Ruby will have him handy and hopefully master Rory O Moore early in the straight, and put it to bed from there. The form of the Mullins yard is a slight worry, but even allowing for that, the 6-5 looks well worth taking. One of these days I have to get one over on you Norn ![]() |

Agree with Free Expression. His form is rock solid compared to the odds on favourite.

Blood Cotil for me as well ,this fellow owes me big , Callit has already pointed out the +s so will leave it there ..Overall a rather poor card apart from the 2 Nov races imo..Still I'm delighted for Naas that they have got their G1...P.S .Norn give me a ring , my breakfast will be ready in ten...

Its folly to oppose Norn Iron at the moment but I thought Free Expression fell in in Navan,Martello Tower fell when travelling best,he subsequently beat Outlander in Limerick under an inspired Danny Mullins ride.
How is the form of the Mullins yard a worry,he contested two races in Mallow and won both. Tell Us More is the one he picked for this event and he has some amount of talented novices. |

His fav ran a stinker in one of them though and ended up been pulled up ,so there is still a worry around some of his...

Quite a few short priced flops over Xmas WMFB, and plenty of others ran below market expectations. Two is hardly an acceptable sample size. They are not all running poorly, he is still having winners, but the rumour of a cough in the yard before Christmas may have some credibility.

I was at Mallow yesterday w/r, I think Willie said in an interview at the track that the horse came back into the parade ring lame and might have pulled a muscle.

He wasn't fav Workrider,he was a massive drifter.
The ones beaten at a short price were in the competitive races, the ones not given solos. |

Have to agree with Ozy here WR. Why the consistent private remarks on a public forum? Ring him back and tell him what you done. Or text him. Its attention seeking and childish imo.

Norn that may be the case but surely calls can be arranged via a text message as opposed to clogging up the threads on here? To be honest it's a very annoying habit that disrupts the flow of the discussion (and obviously attracts ire from third party posters).
I wouldn't be one for banking on mares but Railway Zira looks a decent e/w proposition at 3's now. If you look back at the limerick race she was slightly slow at the first and was also badly interfered with. From there on it was a schooling job and she jumped proficiently before staying on well late. A quick reappearance suggests she came out of the race bouncing and her hurdles form put's her ahead of everything bar Tyner's. It's most unusual that Whatwillwecallher has been returned in training at this hour of her life and it suggests to me she had problems going in foal. She broke down during her last run and it's hard to know what to expect from her today. Whatever happens I think Kelly's mare is a good angle into the race. |

Poor tactics on Blood Cotil, for a horse that gets a half mile more easily detaching him way out the back is never clever.

Theres also the PM service on here Norn if you prefer to contact via the forum. Not wishing to criticise as you do make some good inputs.
I expect many will start calling Blood Cotil names after today's race. However, I think he was running behind the bridle after being hit by Fine Rightly at the first and couldn't get into a rhythm thereafter in a race run at a strong gallop. I will be hoping he runs in a 2m2f Beginners in Thurles in the near future where the layers try and oppose him. He is still a horse who has a big day in him. |

Tell The King.......... the problem I have with the ride is his position from the start............. he stays further, the pace was always going to be done for him, so why have him in fifth coming to the first fence............... Very dodgy indeed......... maybe they are are eyeing a novice handicap chase in due course and want a lighter mark??

Easygold I didn't back the horse but when looking at the race I had expected him to sit off the gallop. Ruby wasn't happy from an early stage and definitely about a mile out gave him a squeeze and he laboured to close marginally. He always looked 2-3 lengths further off them than he really wanted to be.
I would suggest that the horse has already been handicapped on his Gilgamboa run so even if he won today in receipt of weight it wouldn't have been hugely material. I wouldn't think he would best suited by 2m5f around Cheltenham. There is a heavily endowed similar race in Punchestown alright. Fair going by McKinley - not often you see one off the Flat keep galloping like that. |
