Very feasible, though as we are a blessed with a multitude of Islands maybe i,d be more inclined in that line of thought, maybe somewhere like Garnish island as the climate would be more favourable?. Superfast broadband and sky telly would also be two pre requisites but surely this could be overcome though the locals have been complaining for years about de internet. Also a big sign would have to be erected on the jetty(Cead Mile Failte)

Fairly sick thing to be joking about.  Then again the OP and his Racial henchman in Chief Pa Lapsy (himself an immigrant ironically) waste no opportunity to brazenly showcase their prehistoric prejudices.

May God have mercy on these poor sufferers and the brave people risking their own lives to stem the tide.

Your some dope, obvious Wildman's opening post was just a skit as surely it is unfair just to take "healthy" Africans into the country.
As regards being fairly sick? I wouldn't be two faced and say it bothers me that much, there is tragedy everyday in a different part of the world, you can wring your hands away.

Evening Pa,  you back on an even keel this week?  You have been a bit unhinged of late, you even lost it with me over my spelling!
Report pa lapsy October 10, 2014 5:25 PM BST
Nah i'm a total lunatic altogether this week, i'm not usually pedantic with spelling and grammar but that word was getting butchered and it was for ultimately your own good that it was brought to your attention.

Re 'naieve' and 'naive' you are correct, the latter is the appropriate spelling.

However, there is some method to my madness.  I believe that I mentioned that I subscribe to the New Yorker magazine?  Well they still use a dieresis or diaeresis.

Are you familiar with a diaeresis?  It is a a sign (¨) placed over the second of two adjacent vowels to indicate separate pronunciation, as in one spelling of the older forms naïve.

The diaeresis is easily confused with the German umlaut, an identical sign (¨) which adds an e to the affected vowel.  Goethe could be spelled as Göthe for example.

Perhaps that is why I naïvely lapse into the more elegant naieve?

LETS COME BACK TO REALITY LADS...Key facts

Ebola virus disease (EVD), formerly known as Ebola haemorrhagic fever, is a severe, often fatal illness in humans.
The virus is transmitted to people from wild animals and spreads in the human population through human-to-human transmission.
The average EVD case fatality rate is around 50%. Case fatality rates have varied from 25% to 90% in past outbreaks.
The first EVD outbreaks occurred in remote villages in Central Africa, near tropical rainforests, but the most recent outbreak in west Africa has involved major urban as well as rural areas.
Community engagement is key to successfully controlling outbreaks. Good outbreak control relies on applying a package of interventions, namely case management, surveillance and contact tracing, a good laboratory service, safe burials and social mobilisation.
Early supportive care with rehydration, symptomatic treatment improves survival. There is as yet no licensed treatment proven to neutralise the virus but a range of blood, immunological and drug therapies are under development.
There are currently no licensed Ebola vaccines but 2 potential candidates are undergoing evaluation...IM not very religious lads but lets  hope it never hits our fair land.

How is my opening post disgraceful ?

Its putting up to gesture gentlemen like yourself who talk a good game, show huge concern, emote like billyo but know it won't affect you and yours.
You want others to bear the brunt of your conscience.

The same people are constantly parading their goodness with no consequences, its the Geldof/Bono syndrome,we want to feel good about ourselves but jings don't allow it have any affect on our lives, let the little people suffer.

Might be soon time to bump that disgraceful 'Mental health' thread.
Report wildmanfromborneo October 10, 2014 8:03 PM BST
Again a complete inability to engage,a parading of your own enlightened goodness in the safe knowledge it won't affect you in any way whatsoever.

You are the worst type of hypocrite, one that thinks you are morally superior but with a contempt for the decent people of this country who you sneer at on a daily basis.

Jaysus Frank that looks very "googley" altogether. I haven't done any research on this but my buddy down the pub reckons it all came about by the locals penchant for monkeys brains in the 70,s?????. Is there any truth in that Frank or is he pulling my leg?
Report frank60 October 12, 2014 12:29 PM BST
Some heads say that the AIDS VIRUS came about the same way Pa,[the poor monkey gets blamed for everthing] anyway an other case of Ebola was confirmed in Texas in the last 24hours ; Scared

Joe Tamba and his healthcare workers look as if they are going on strike for more money, probably deserve it but clearly not hand wringing over this too much either.
Report wildmanfromborneo October 13, 2014 2:15 PM BST
They are all ****footing around human rights, this nonsense that you can't ask people have they any contagious disease when they come into country has to stop.

Health workers are entitled to be protected, their job is hard enough already.
