i admire your confidence snap.i already have it backed.the draw is relevant .if its behind a wall of horses at the furlong pole and cant get out due to being badly drawn it will struggle to win?.. it was well/averagely drawn it would be 4/5

Think people are making too much of the draw, horse needs to be dropped in anyway so even if it was drawn on the rails wouldn't be the type to try and make all anyway

Tks The Gotchee , thought the fav was a little unlucky in all fairness , seemed to run up the back of something after about 2 furs , all the value had gone , so in effect it became a lay for me at that price...

Spencer gave the winner a cracker alright, by getting a very soft time of it on the front end. Fav would have needed to be a serious beast to win giving up so many lengths off them fractions. Hold up horses are always hostage to pace in a 5 fur dash. He could have been drawn anywhere, I would guess he would have been ridden the same, and the result would have been very similar. I would say he was the best horse in the race, but was vulnerable the way it was run.
Been concentrating on the golf (and a bit of work!), so didn't look at many races today, but Shell House looks a good bet in last at Navan.
I know its a dangerous game backing one of APOBs on seasonal debut, without info from the yard, and you would hope for positive market vibes closer to the race. Because this thing should really be a lot closer to evens, and the current 3.8 is nearly too big. But I will pay my money, and take my chance.
She shaped with distinct promise on debut, behind the decent Dazzling, and then looked to have disappointed next time. But she was found to be lame after what proved to be a very good maiden, and if she is ready to go today, she should be well up to seeing off a few disappointing sorts, and the Wachman newcomer, who would need to be both decent and really know her job to be beating Shell House.

Yeah, its a bit worrying Kav, but hopefully just lemmings following each other. The 10 mins before the race will tell a story, hopefully a different one.

I would chalk Snap down as far from an idiot to be honest Gotchee, and I don't see any excuses that he has made today?? Flagged up an 11-4 shot shot, that went off 5-4. Many would have come on and said they laid off for a profit. Not Snap. He may be full of confidence, but crucially, short of bullshit.

Well, I thought you had a bit more kop on callit? He advises nothing but favorites and from what I have seen most of them lose. He is a waffler and a joker/skitter and if you havn't kopped on to that at this stage of the game you need help.

I had my issues about Snap putting up selections the night before racing, on markets that weren't formed, and a good bet could not have been had. But he explained himself well, and I respect his views more after that. His selections/info may be towards the head of the market, but invariably they shorten, and suggests he is either/both well informed or well able to spot a bit of value.
He does call his selections certainties quite often, but that is just a persons personality. I would suggest Snap is a confident sort, nothing wrong with that.
Not that I getting at you Gotchee, just seems to be a needless clash with ye two. You yourself also seem to know your stuff, unlike most punters.
And I still think I ok on the kop on front.

It's just a style of delivery, not to be taken literally.
It would be a very dull place if everyone adopted the same yawn inducing cliched-type delivery, i.e. 'I think Crawford's will go well in the bumper, he is good at readying them. Mullin's the likely danger, will strip fitter and come on for the run' etc.

To have a forum that is worth reading it is necessary to have posters that take a view on an event and have the bottle to post it in advance and generate debate. Snap is one such poster. Given the amount of other posters lining up to take a shot at opinions I admire that. This forum is a shadow of what it was due to a few pea brains with nothing constructive to contribute.

The people i see most on here rarely offer a selection but shoot those that do down(After the event usually), No wonder many don't bother to get involved.
