U S Navy Seal is supposed to be top drawer,i'd never back an o'brien newcomer at short odds,Be interesting to see how he gets on here,
Along came casey looks a good thing in the listed race,Same can be said of Joyeuse in the Ballyogan,
Thoughts?

One that interests me is Swordfight , Tony had word for it first time up , I went and had a look and said to him I thought its stablemate was more forward , not blowing my own trumpet btw , just what I saw ..It finished ahead of Swordfight who in my opinion looked as if he would come on for the run , so will be having a dabble on him ...Agree fully re Casey and  Joyeuse , might have a little on Sea Of Wells w/o , she showed up really well for a long way at Naas recently ...Good  Luck..

Kevin Blake really rates Along Came Casey from what I saw on ATR, should love the quick ground tonight. I'll back it too.

ive had small double ..along casey and bolgers in the last,..as I admit..unless they really stand out to me flat racing is not my forte..wr is right about SWORDFIGHT,..i got a tip for him on debut..8/1 tonight..so ive chanced 20e e/w..

GOLDEN SHOE, 11/1 is over-priced, good ground, back over a mile could be the key. Plenty of ? about his rivals in my book. Worth a small investment......... 6.50 Leop.......

Poor results from a punters point , I spoke to several guys who have been punters all their lives , and they are seriously thinking of giving up the game , lots of disgruntled punters not in the least re the rides given to a couple of favs there tonight ..One guy expressed himself totally fed up with the top stable ...Said he's skint , and would be leaving the flat stuff alone , till in his words , proper jump racing was back...Ended up getting out slightly ahead by backing the last winner @ 12/1 ...

Poor punting from people who back odds on shots full stop...... there is always value out there.......... if your good enough you will find them.........

Workrider......... how could you back odds on  shots......... surely ur wise enough by now........ My average price a year is 13/2...... and that`s for the last 7 years.........

You need to change ur approach to racing...... take it from a person who has been there and back for the last 20 years and I`m only 39.

They obviously over watered  at Leopardstown.

U S Navy Seal didnt seem to handle the ground in the second.
Our Manekineko patently didnt like it in the third.

I was tempted to break my lent and do a bit of laying of Along Came Caseybecause of the ground but stupidly resisted.

Pat Smullen was at his imperious best on Majestic Queen.

They keep giving out wrong ground conditions which makes it much harder than it should be.
Report easygold June 13, 2014 12:16 AM BST
Yeah Wildman, they did water a lot, those times are more like good, good to soft.

Strange results the last few days indeed, probably right about the watering being the reason.
Thought myself generally horses were running to form up to now but cautious times it seems for punting.
The two Weld newcomers the last two nights looked very decent, both a large price and weak in the market, didn,t matter, and while Weld will always have his soft spot for Galway seems to be a very noticeable shift away from there in regards his operation this season though probably has his strongest stable in depth ever.

Easygold , had word for the first 2 favs , Curly looked a picture in the paddock , and I was happy to take the 11/10 , She looked like a colt , U S was supposed to be a machine , ran like a car with a flat tyre ..I've been battling the books for over 40 yrs , had my share of ups and downs over the years , not as clued up as some on here , but its something I enjoy , jostling with the enemy most days is hard hard work ...Its a pastime I'd take any day over the mundane ...

Gents,
I spoke to the track and there was definitely no watering in the lead up to the meeting.

Also, contrary to what was said above, I wasn't on ATR yesterday and didn't even consider backing or advise anyone to back Along Came Casey. Backing a six-year-old mare at odds-on in her first run of the year wouldn't be my idea of a good time.

All the best.
Report neill d June 13, 2014 1:16 PM BST
^^^^Apologies, should have made the above clear, that you indeed didn't put that up yesterday.

I rated the mare and took the Tatts GC entry to mean that she was likely a cut above that lot yesterday, in hindsight maybe they were just looking at getting some easy Group 1 black type. Watering and a probable lack of readiness scuppered her, but I did think she would be a class apart.
Report Irish Whisper June 13, 2014 1:23 PM BST
No worries at all, Neill. I know what you meant, as I've talked about her plenty in the past, but others clearly picked up your comment the wrong way. Happy

Need to improve the old reading and comprehension. Lynam places his good horses very well and I should have taken note of how well backed the winner was.

You're going well of late in fairness to you Tony. Beginners/Novice Chases and Bumpers seem to be working for ya.

I just work around the fringes of the more knowledgeable people here and would not advise anyone to back anything I put up. Racing is just a pastime I really enjoy.

The track was watered, was in fact over watered and they also gave out the wrong ground description.

They persist in saying the ground was good when it patently wasn't.

All here knew Along Came Casey cannot lift a leg n any ground worse than good, twas the ground that beat him.
Report Irish Whisper June 13, 2014 2:47 PM BST
wildman,
I spoke to the track this morning and watering was never even considered, never mind undertaken. Why would it have been? It was good-to-yielding on Tuesday.
Report wildmanfromborneo June 13, 2014 3:04 PM BST
I'm not sure they know half of what's going on,one thing I am certain of was they gave the ground as good in the morning, there was no rain yet the ground rode slow, something changed the ground.

The runs of U S Navy Seal and Our Manekineko proved to me the ground was slow.
Along Came Casey was odds on solely because punters presumed there was no cut whatsoever, that run confirmed there was cut.

Joyeuse was given an unusual ride by inexperienced Leopardstown rider,he spotted the gap turning in and mistakenly flew up the rail through the slower and I presume watered ground, the winner went wide on the better ground,it made all the difference.
