A huge percentage voting for Sinn Fein doesn't show us in a great light either. If it comes to it they won't be any different to the rest. I can't believe that any Sinn Fein politician takes their policies seriously. If they do they need to go back to school. Gerry was a complete embarrassment when it came to debating these issues before the last general election.

Emmet Hegarty ain't my bookmaker, hardly ever bet with him or down that end of the line - and as much as i think Emmet is alright i couldn't really care whether he got in or not

" down that end of the line " How long is this line, all I ever hear there are no bookmakers at dog tracks, you get the impression from that statement that there its like the old days a long line of bookies at the hounds.
What surprised me about Emmet Hegarty is he was a Fianna Fáil candidate. The other candidate from the satchel men ranks was also Fianna Fáil,he was successful.
Stevie Coughlan was a bookmaker and politician from the past,a Labout T.D. for Limerick with extreme views.
It wasn't an accusation." down that end of the line " How long is this line, all I ever hear there are no bookmakers at dog tracks, you get the impression from that statement that there its like the old days a long line of bookies at the hounds. What s
I'm not a fan of Ming Flanagan but I do agree with his views on the EU. The EU had destroyed this country by stealing 200 billion worth of fish, forcing us to pay the debts of Anglo Irish bank, forcing us to implement laws which we have no say on and stopping us from cutting our own turf. It was set up to bring peace to Europe and encourage trade between members to create wealth. All they have done is create the biggest financial crisis in living memory withe their disastrous financial policies and start a civil war in Ukraine. I hope he shakes things up over there and does something good rather than the nonsense he has gone on with inside in the Dail.
I also don't agree with people who give out about certain politicians, mainly rural ones, being elected. Some our worst politicians have been elected in Dublin, namely David Norris and Ruairi Quinn. If there is a problem with some of the politicians elected in this country, it is mainly the ones who have been elected by the protestants up in the pale.

Have to agree with Newapproach and can I add to his list of Dublin villains.
Charlie Haughey Ray Burke Liam Lawlor.
I too can't stand the pot smoking " Ming " but agree with his anti EU stance.
I have a solution for the turf cutting problem, let them cut what they want but make them to do it by hand. Its hard to argue you are looking for the interests of small farmers and men cutting turf to heat their cottages when you are using an industrial piece of equipment that costs a couple of hundred Grand.

Great craic making this list wildman, wouldn't disagree with any of your selections. I'd agree with you richters regarding the way he took on the British but his theft from the state and double standards cannot be ignored.
Another addition i'd like to make is a younger TD but will be a possible candidate for the labour leadership if the decide to gor for a younger choice. His name is Aodhan O Riordan. When the sunday indo sent an undercover reporter to pose as a volunteer. They asked him various questions about gay marraige and abortion. He said that his wife was from the Cavan area and the county was full of homophobes. He also said that the protecion of life bill was implemented by labour as a stepping stone to abortion on demand and assured them that Labour would bring this in.
Another labour politician who says one thing in public but lies and schemes in order to bring in laws and policies that nobody wants.
