a decent meeting to start the summer off..and im sweet on SIR ABBOT 2.40 I liked his win in a bumper lto and as long as his jumping holds up I expect him to be the one to beat..im not sure how short he,ll be..but hopefully he,ll be backable..good luck all
Tony, I do like Sir Abbot, but it really needs farther than this, and this track could be on the sharp side?...wouldnt want to be held up as it could get out paced if its a "sprint"...better to force the pace imo & could get away with it though...

McKinley looks a banker in the opener, and worth backing at 7-4.
As i said on here before, Indian Icon is a small scopeless, regressive sort, and he is taking up a fair chunk of the market. I very much doubt he will get near the fav if he jumps proficiently on debut. Coming from these quarters, there is no reason to expect he wont.
Indian Icon may have a few pieces of soft ground form, but the rain is really falling there, and to my eye he resented such conditions on the flat at Galway last Summer.
If McKinley cant beat the rest, connections will be very disappointed.

Played Yes Sir Brian e/w at 16's in the next, His form behind Wicklow Brave & Vautour, Black Hercules isn't too shabby but he does seem to pull his races away, Hopefully he'll settle early and give me a spin for my money, GL all.

Thanks Huddy, Didn't have a bet myself though as rarely play the short ones but he did look the best by a long way to me. Trading Harry's Princess in the next at Leop, Ran well in the Guineas trial, Hopefully a bit fitter for the run and can go close. GL if playing.

What a gentleman John Oxx is, not a word of complaint after being pretty unlucky to lose that today, unlucky in the way that you often see them kept. Smullen hamming it up was the killer, how could one be 'sure' they'd have won in those circumstances I don't know. After basically robbing his best patron you'd think they'd have let that go there today. Stark contrast with Wylie at Cheltenham in the Gold Cup. Difference between sport and business I guess.

im willing to give AUTUMN SHADES e/w @8/1 another chance .after a disappointing run @wexford she is obviously thought better than that..and with 7lb coming off im hoping she,ll be better tonight..mymain bet on the card is SAILORS WARN 5.40, won on the flat last week..but with o,grady willing to run again this quick makes me think this may have been the plan?..has not won over this trip and lto was disappointing..but im chancing him

Are you down near there Kelly? Whats the ground...much rain about or forecast??
I had a good bet on On The Fringe last week at 13-8. Principally because the ground and down hill finish, wasn't going to stretch his stamina. I wouldn't be too eager to plough into him if it got bottomless.
Likewise, I will back The Herds Garden if the rains have stayed away. He seemed to appreciate the better ground the last day, until ultimately chucking it away/outstayed. Nina will be replicating her brothers exaggerated waiting tactics tonight. 2.9 would look a bet if ground hasn't deteriorated.
If anyone down there could update...Cheers.

I'm in Tralee Callit, which is about half an hour away, and we had a very dry day yesterday with only a small bit of rain last night and this morning. I read on Irishracing.com that they were watering this morning so barring heavy rain coming soon, I'd say it should be decent ground.
Heading to the track this evening so I'll put u a couple of selectins for interest.
Pollywollydoodle 6.40 wo sligo maiden hurdle by 11 lengths and showed well in handicap when 4th at listowel afterwards. May have needed the run @ fairyhouse after long break and should be primed for today.
Chute HALL 6.10 This fella is tarting to become a bit frustrting but i'm going to give him another chance. Thinks his form is stronger than the favs who was flattered @ Mallow and local trainer will be keen to win today.

Be having a EW on Psycho in the Hunter Chase myself at 20/1, Has a chase win here over 2m4f, Has chase figures of 5-1-14, Gets 17lbs(Including jockey allowance) from the fav & a first time tongue tie catches my eye.
Henry DeBromhead brings two tonight and both are worth a punt imo(Darwins Fox/Lord Ben e/w)
Gl all having a go tonight.

Never in Killarney myself, but I remember the picture they put on front of Racing Post one day last year, was beautiful.
Aim to get down there at some stage soon.
Cant beat Galway for the craic though!!
Backed The Herds Garden at 15-8. Betinternet going 5-2 for those that can get on there. Nobody is my guess!!

Away from Killarney, I think White Russian can prove ahead of her mark in 7.50 Windsor. Wont mind the rain that is pouring down, and 8-1 looks worth taking.

All the Kerry tracks have their own charm . Killarney is one of the most beautifully situated racecourses anywhere in the world . Tralee was always good for winner finding , but not in same class as Killarney or Listowel . Listowel meeting in September was always stellar , huge crowds , and the start of the year for some of the better NH horses . And great betting , not sure though these days , the bean counters are in charge following Betfair .

Wont equals want . Go to Listowel in September tony , and the mid July meeting in Killarney has always a good mix of racing , flat and NH . And evening fixtures in July , week long festival approximately , as is Listowel . And bring some good weather with you .

I've gone with a Sammy Black and Arctic Fire double today, pays 13/2 with ****. You Must Know Me has been expensive to follow and must be taken on at short odds while Sammy Black has been in good form recently. Race conditions suit Arctic Fire who should get the job done.

Good days racing yesterday lads, great to see a local winner with chute hall and my other selection was given a great ride by eddie o connell only to find one too good. I ended up backing usual smurfer as well who finished third. He ran a cracker I thought, he probably found the track a bit sharp and still has some leeway from his mark imo.
They called the ground yielding to soft at the end of racing after a few heavy showers during racing but we have a dry day so far today so it could be a bit holding for some horses.
Interesting to see both barry connell and jp mcmanus at the track yesterday, jp obviously there to see on the fringe win. Everything connell had ran well though and he is priobably down for the few days so i'd expect his runner to perform well today also.
Haven't looked at todays card as of yet but will post my thoughts later.

Too short Tony considering the O'Brien horse was apparently sick when it flopped at Gowran and Shu Lewis can go if in the right condition, going might be a bit tacky today to add into the mix so will probably win hard held after me saying that

The Crafty Butcher 5.50 People might think the trip will be too short for this one but I don't think he is short of speed by an means. Was second in a limerick beginners at this trip and ran a cracker over longer trip at punchestown. If they can keep in touch until they reach the home turn, the long stretch on the run in should suit his stamina. Local owner would love a winner here also.
Lady Clitco 7.25 Went into the notebook after good performance from the front on seasonal re-appearance @ the curragh. Ran good races since @ cork and sligo and step back down to a mile should suit imo.

I think artic fire is a terrible price lads and i'm going to chance a small lay at the prices. I think stamina may be an issue over 1m6f. After punchestown, ruby said he was a pure two miler over hurdles so this trip on the flay on what may be gluey ground may not suit him.
Interesting what punchestown says above about exotic being sick after last run, the form of his maiden has not worked out too badly and he was impressive to the eye that day.
Agrre also that shu lewis is a big danger. Love watching shamie heffernan ride from the front in small fields and this looks a perfect oppertunity to do that. Horse has also run very well fresh in the past finishing 1st and 2nd after long breaks in the past.

My double sank on the first race, though Mullins was going plenty quick enough and so it looked. If he had ridden to do You Must Know Me for a turn of foot the result may have been different.

Well done newapproach nice ride by the jockey, one bet for me Matsukaze in the 6:20,backed him at 3/1,dont think this horse has been put into a race this year, hope they let the brakes off today,Martin also likes having a winner down in Kilarney, have a feeling this horse could be a handicap snip,
