I wonder do any posters have any comments on the price prior to the race today?

It was disgusting to see posts 5 minutes yesterday after the race informing us what a terrible price Stand Guard was and a lack of respect for the time and effort Snap took to make a valid contribution.

The vultures tend to wait until post race, before they have a go usually dj!

  pa makes a fair point..snap left himself open for that..when saying what he did..its after the race yet he just criticized what he did himself?..ive never passed comment on his punting..hes very good at what he does..as for passing comment on a unraced bumper runner..i have put a few fto winners on here..snap has put up fto maiden runners..?just cos how someone bets is not for you..gives you no right to say that's its all wrong?

You seem to struggle with the concept of something being profitable over an extended sample size. If you put up ten 2/1 first time out bumper horses and six win this does not vindicate your flawed process.

The variable you are most dependent on is luck because your selection process lacks even a degree of logic. The variables that exclusively persuade you to have a bet such as trainer comments, course strike rate and a breeding knowledge that does not extend beyond acknowledging the sire would not be sufficient for most punters to give it a second thought let alone a bet.

The example of Pa lambasting a selection after the race should not be dependent on a previous poster's actions. It is illogical thinking and information cascades like this that are the ruination of valid information as it ensourages herding behaviour.

The latter point is not relevant to these markets (extremely relevant to others though as my point is a general one) but I find his behaviour irksome.

Well it is in part(previous poster actions) now dj i think you are on a very lofty moral pedestal at the moment(14.11 post) but maybe you can see Tony,s initial post on the Wexford thread was a query. Being the fine fella you are with the fierce wonderful original thought process you posess you can see the difference between a query and the definitive statement yesterday that the horse WILL get the day off to the best start. That is the other part while i like Snap as a poster the language(fill your boots,hose in etc) used is plain wrong as it is only an opinion and shouldn,t ever be presented as fact before an event.

As I said the ruination of valid information does not apply on here (but your behaviour is an example of it) but that seems to have went over your head, it applies to what develops from information cascades and sentiment dominating fundamentals.

snap,i have no problem with your question..but it was after the race?..you made the point that people have a go after the race?..ive said I HAVE NEVER had a go at you..and I would not..but you cannot get away from what is looking at you snap..it is hypocritical..ive seen you put up horses that have been making there debut?..(a question dj also did not answer)i'm not carrying on as were going in circles..theres no bad feeling snap..but I think its fair what im saying..of course its only my opinion..and we are all entitled to that without falling out.

I very rarely, if ever back a horse first time out tony, just find there is too many variables. And there are enough variables as it is without punting a horse you've never seen run before.

I also wasn't referring to you as the one having a pop tony.

My question would have still been as relevant pre race, so just as it was posted post race makes no difference to my mind.

Snap was merely politely questioning and I would imagine his motive was to gain an insight or perhaps to even aid a fellow forumite.
