I backed the horse, It seemed to me the horse jumped it ok and then stumbled?, in this world of political correctness we are not allowed see what exactly happened, a dead horse means no replay.
But yet you can see the aftermath of a car bomb in Baghdad on Sky News?.
Pity, with Jezki winning who knows?, R.I.P.

I'd also echo the thoughts of fellow forumites....really sad what happened. Terrible for conditions too. Hughes, Connell and Danny Mullins.....I hope they all get a winner later in the week !

Soyouthink you obviously followed horse racing for years as you know yourself we've all seen it and its not a pretty sight a horse with a leg sideways after breaking it, but we're adult enough to know this is something that happens every now and then.
At least give us the option to see exactly what happened, and maybe give a warning for those who would like to look away.
I hate to see a horse killed or injured but I also hate been treated like a sheltered child, I should have the option if I want to see the replay of Our Conors fall?.

Goes to show you guys a news channel wont treat you like a sheltered child and shows you exactly what happened, yet a dedicated racing channel thinks all racings fans should be immediately evacuated to a nuclear shelter because a horse dies.

Horse was in front and ran away with Danny when CBB took it off him going away from the stands and down the hill on the far side. Danny was trying all he could to get him in stride for the flight and they were fair bombing it but could not win the war with the horse. Horse still seemed ok at the flight and looked like he mnight get away with it but met it halfway up, bullied it out of his way but the flight caught him again on the way down and the horse skewed sideways and fell to the side in a horrible fall. It didn't look good and the rest his history. No ones fault but I would say if they had their time back again they would have left CBB have the lead.

Falls in the top two mile hurdles rarely end well, off top of my head Macs Joy, Detroit City, Iktitaf, Darlan and Our Conor have all died in top races. All good horses too.

Our Connor was near the pace the whole way through last years triumph if my memory serves me right. I can't comment DM was in any way to blame but agree he should not have been on the horse. Truly gutted we lost Our Connor today, a real horse of the people.

He wasn't to blame. Personally I think they got the tactics wrong and wrong in advance and wrote on a different thread they were caught on the hop when only 9 declared. Horse just took off going away from the stand and they were all going too quick to the trappy downhill flight. He just got unlucky probably due to inexperience

Mr phantom..... There is a huge difference between being ridden close to the pace.....and racing a pacemaker that's making it a good gallop already.....what in gods name was he at....it's a shame all the same....champion hurdle horses aren't easy to come by.....

Captain cee bee went off like the clappers and Mullins took the lead off him.... That was the most insane act I have ever witnessed in a horse race..... I'd still love to see somebody come up with a comparable move....

Paulie did it ever occur to you that Danny might well have been riding to orders, if Hughes and Connell told him to ride the horse that way then he's hardly going to go against their wishes, Connell is on record that the reason he retained a jockey was because some jockeys would ride his horses differently than the way he wanted them ridden.
Barry might not be the voice of racing but he's entitled to have his opinion on how his horses are ridden, whether he is right or wrong.

I would like to refer to my other thread entitled "McManus Pair" In my opinion Mullins and Dessie Hughes got caught on the hop when only 9 declared and only CCB as a front runner. They both changed tactics and both suffered with the tragedy of the potential star getting killed. No ones fault but I imagine connections are cursing themselves for lighting him up so early. That is just an educated guess
