Yes it was ironic and quite sad that such a large number of people from Wexford voted as you say "for a developer as a protest against developers. To think that the people of that county showed everyone in 1798 what they were made of and then their descendants voted MW into the Dail - very sad.
You would welcome Deputy Daly as opposed to the alternative rumours.
Amazing that the transfer of his Vineyard in Italy to his brother as payment of a debt didn't attract more stringent attention.
Ironically we need property developers at the moment (as well as the accompanying access to capital) because there are currently 8000 properties per annum being constructed (4000 of those one off)with a growing demand of approximately 35,000 units (biased to areas with professional employment). There will be cries of property bubbles again where it is simply market forces, bubbles in tulip markets, bit coins and gold are understandable but when an asset derives an income, there isn't any excuse for ignorance.
Even though policies such as levying non-developed land in prime areas are being implemented and even with an increase of Nama properties on the market, a lack of attainable capital and excess demand should ensure exponential appreciation in the Dublin market over the next 5 years,no harm as the recently formed REITS offer great exposure to the Dublin commercial market.

Yes there was some effort up through Carlow Kildare and Meath. There was also some up as far as I can remember up north in Antrim in particular. Sincere apologies if through my ignorance I have left out some counties but I do know that the crowd in Castlecomer pissed on the gun powder. History should be one of the most exciting subjects to study/learn but the system/teachers in the so-called good old days ensured unfortunately that most pupils hated it. Many when they couldnt remember a particular year got the lard beaten out of them.
