Improves out of recognition horses yet all he does is work them on the gallops like every other trainer?

So what is the magic potion?, was Mullins on that list?

Considering it was Carlow, maybe close connections I don't know?

Sober up man.

You are worse than a fellow who always ends up pining for a lost love after a few too many drinks.  Same sh1t everytime.  Over and over again.

Move on.

Horse has abilty, horse ends up in Wille Mullins stable and seems to have twice as much abilty pretty swiftly?

I really cant get my head around what this guy does that every other trainer doesn't do?

I'm all ears?

Ozy at least I don't pine for an online fight which seems to make your day, what I say I mean it.

Take my opinions whatever way you want, but what I say I mean every bloody word of what I say, I don't get involved in some petty tiffs that seems to give you some sort of kick.

Its the repetition that's the problem.  You do realise you have started at least a 100+ threads on this subject?  Almost always when you are locked.  It's as if the previous 99 threads have never happened and have been wiped from your memory.

Good night.

Silvergreaser - in all fairness you can't go round making accusations like this on an assumption that his horses improve too much. Isn't that he's employed to do anyway.

Reason for Mullins dominance is he has 3 of the 4 biggest owners in NH racing backing him. Ricci and Wylie and to a lesser extent O'Leary. I think the only other owner who compares is McManus. Generally many of the best horses end up with him.
Report Ozymandius February 22, 2014 10:59 PM GMT

No debate here - I think the argument being made is ridiculous to be honest.
Report silvergreaser February 22, 2014 11:03 PM GMT
SYT I recognise that fact, but questions need to be asked when something is too good to be true it usually is.

Henderson was found out.

Locked Ozy hardly!
Report silvergreaser February 22, 2014 11:06 PM GMT
Why Ozy do you think Mullins and his pious contaminated feed doesn't deserve an explanation, funny they never found the source of this contaminated feed but Mullins decided the best form of defence was attack,
Report silvergreaser February 22, 2014 11:18 PM GMT

Frank I'm suppose to be under the influence or I cant be anyway sober if I ask a genuine question about the messiah of national hunt racing?.

Its all above board you know, everything he does is squeaky clean...

Considering the recent revelations I think the thread title has more than a modicum of debate in it don't you think??

tell you a story about W P MULLINS, young kid that goes to the bookies in a wheelchair, who was born with the condition, anyways was at
an irish racetrack and some guy gave him a tip for the mullins horses, cut long story short, the horse lost and mullins found the kid
after the race and gave him a roll of notes. sounds like a good man to me and see he only had the 4 winners today.

Isleofhopendreams need I say more.

He is not on the list.

The list has a common denominator.
Report Bigwillystyle February 23, 2014 1:16 AM GMT
Isleofhopesanddreams was trained by Knight a useless trainer who is soft on her horses. It turns up in Mullins stable. Anyone who thinks he would entertain such a horse off 86 running under his name unless it has 2+ stone in hand is a fool.  It's easy know who the forum
Mugs are and Silver is top of the list.
Report silvergreaser February 23, 2014 7:56 AM GMT
Wildman I was just making a connection with Pat Hughes who is Bagenalstown based no more than a stone throw from Muine Beag where Mullins trains, with such close proximity would suggest that they're very familiar with each other including Pat Hughes brother the ex vet who is at the center of this case, so its not unreasonable to suspect that a Mullins or two or somebody closely connected to them might be on the infamous list?.

Henderson might have some of the biggest owners and some of the best horses but I always had my suspicions about the guy for years, his horses were not just winning they use to win so easily that if you tied an American freight train to their tails they would still win, when the news broke about the Queens horse and Henderson was found out telling a pack of lies I felt partly exonerated.

People on here argued till they were blue in the face to defend Fenton, Dunguib and the use of the potent sheep wormer that has crystal meth like similarities.

I feel no shame about having a little gloat and saying I told you so now that Fenton is finally in the dock but whats galling is it took the Dept of Agriculture to condemn the guy while the Turf Club decided to except his **** and bull story as to how the methamphetamine like substance got into Dunguibs system, I really hope the Turf Club come out of this smelling like the Turd that they are.

I have my suspicions about many other trainers where too good to be true is apt, a certain female trainer in Britain, a Yorkshire based journeyman who suddenly found a holy grail, a son of a former multiple grand national winning trainer who also suddenly found that holy grail, a former Irish based trainer now based in the north of England who seems to have unearthed some sort of rocket fuel such has been the remarkable improvement in his fortunes, not to mention a Northern Irish based trainer who people barely ever heard of but now is training loads of winners both sides of the Irish Sea.

When something is too good to be true it usually is!, but never fear horse trainers the fawning media would never dare question your methods they'll just adorn you with the usual label "genius".
Report silvergreaser February 23, 2014 8:49 AM GMT
I better correct myself before some smart ass corrects me, Closutton Muine Bheag which is the Irish for Bagenalstown.
Report kincsem February 23, 2014 10:45 AM GMT
Successful trainers are good at getting rid of the duds.  They have no problem filling the boxes again.  Then get rid of the new duds.  Do this a few times and you have a yard of possibles.
Report wildmanfromborneo February 23, 2014 11:06 AM GMT
To answer your question Silvergreaser,I don't.
The improvements in these horses he gets from other stables is too stark.
Report silvergreaser February 23, 2014 11:22 AM GMT
There's a lot of trainers down that neck of the woods on the Carlow/Kilkenny border wildman, you have Tony and Margaret Mullins who train side by side on the Goresbridge side of the border, Pat Fahy is close by, doesn't Tom Foley train down Bagenalstown way too?, even Jim Bolger is close by among others.
Report workrider February 23, 2014 11:26 AM GMT
Silvergreaser , asks a question , lo and behold , he's an alcoholic .Shame on ye who belittle a man for what is in all fairness a reasonable question .I don't believe Mullins puts anything untoward in his feeds , but i do feel that Silvergreaser has the right to ask the question ..This is after all a forum for debate ....
Report wildmanfromborneo February 23, 2014 11:26 AM GMT
Tony Mullins trains( if that's what you call it ) in Gowran
Tom Foley trains in Garryhill.

You have left out Carlows most famous two trainers, the two that are up to their neck in this current controversy.
Report silvergreaser February 23, 2014 11:32 AM GMT

Tom trains in Duninga which is the home place.

Infamous is right and can't train a winner now since the local vet got collared.

How is Silver allowed to still post.

He dreams about the O Brien children and has made some disgusting remarks about Vincent O Brien.

He needs to be on some sort of register. Surprised Betfair forum is allowing a thread that basically slanders Mullins name with no evidence or proof what so ever other than the opinions of a man who ranting are bordering on a fiction novel.

Report dj876 February 23, 2014 6:04 PM GMT
Greaser is perfectly entitled to his opinion on the topic and should feel some what vindicated by recent events.

Would anyone dispute the thread title if he replaced horse racing with Mullins?
It's rife throughout racing and impossible to truly monitor without thorough and unannounced stable testing. If they know what they are doing, they're not going to be caught on race day.

On a slightly different tangent, nice boost to Wicklow Brave's form today from the stable in (with) form.

Amazing there hasn't been much discussion of the previously mentioned common denominator and the most unlikely of Don Corleone's?

Fiction? have you been living in a cave for the last few years ruby?

I asked a simple question do we really believe everything Mullins is doing is all above board?.

No evidence maybe? apart from supposed contaminated feed?, but doesn't stop me from having my doubts as to the legitamacy of something that has for a long time had more than a look of something that is far too good to be true even allowing for some really wealthy patrons.

Do you want me banned ruby because I dare question something you would never ever contemplate because you believe the myth the media buys and sells?.

Head in the sand and then get all pious and look for a poster to be banned because he dared say what he thinks?.

As for my disgusting remarks about Vincent OBrien I'd really love for you to enlighten me on that one?, as for the O'Brien children all I asked was in my own style are they actually allowed to live outside the suffocating clamp of their pious fathers image?
Report GANT007 February 23, 2014 8:04 PM GMT
They said the same about the Kilkenny Hurling team. High achievers always create suspicion.

The day of the trainer spending the night in the pub and stumbling out before noon to the gallop is long gone.
