because they average a winner every two days


That's because you have about 1200 runners every two days!!

When Aidan O'Brien does his traditional Leopardstown gallop, someone be sure to stick up a list of those horses. There will be plenty of winners in there... in fact I'd say twould be best to put up everything by Galileo and Montjeu. To cover the rest of the bases throw in the Juddmonte reciprocals by Oasis Dream and Dansili. Also, put in Fastnetrock, they've stuck a lot of eggs in that basket... and High Chaperal has had a bit of a mini-revival.. best mention him too. And sure if you liked these, you'd have to put in the Darley crew of New Approach and Teofilo, sure aren't they essentially Coolmore. And I'm nearly sure STS is a half brother to Galileo, I'd have him on my radar for the same reason as Fastnet, eggs in baskets. There'll be winners in this list, as well as almost any half-decent European horse in training.

there was good race today on the AW 4.30 at wolves, have a look at the winners profile and try to understand
why it won that race, and then take a look at the 11/8 favs profile, ive always found the class 4 race's are
perfect race's for beginners to learn from.

He went off short-enough in a Tipp maiden last summer and finished mid-div. hadn't shown too much in England until Saturday night where he was a close enough third behind a well-handicapped horse of Fahey's that got a good ride from tony Hamilton.
He has only just turned 4 and is a big shell of a horse that wants either decent ground or an artificial surface. I think he is better than his mark and will win races on the all-weather. Will get back on the day he runs next (actually probably the evening before) and assess the shape of the race.

You're right of course Ozy, that was in jest which I should have made clear with a smiley. No problem with someone highlighting horses of interest here, but a bit of discussion of their merits on the day would be a help too. If the guy is putting in as much work as he lets on, we could probably use him.

Halfsin in that 4.30 is a huge brute of a thing and stole the race by kicking early,dropped from being well beaten in C2 was back in a winnable grade today.

wouldnt know about other peoples horses, said it many times before concentrate on certain races, because dont watch
any horse racing, dont really notice horses finishing out of the places. ive got my formula that works well. most
of the races, bet in are class 6 and 5 races, always good when horse makes class 4 standard, most of then never will.
thats why anyone wanting to learn more about how the formbook works would be wise to concentrate around class 4 races,
good starting point, most of the winners are through association with other runners or previous winners, make it my business to find the right formlines and the prolific winners, dont think you can teach that to someone, your brain either makes the right connections and you find the winners easily or you struggle and can never make sense of the form. always remember the good performances by horses, and remember them in my MIND PALACE. everyday check the results
and make a mental note of horses that will be potential bets in the future. employ lots of variables in working out
which ones might be potential notebooks, could be winning price, winning distance, just a name i like
whole handicap system is based around horses improving, so thats what im looking for all the time, potential improvers. HTH

That is an interesting insight into your logic. Seems to be about finding races that are strong for the grade where the prominent horses can be followed.

what about joe eile tommorow rr the former ger lyons horse now with john quinn off the same mark he won off at naas in june.....

never heard of that horse, would be shocked if that wins tomoro, looks competitive race, too difficult to make
sense of the irish from, becuase the races are not classified like the english races, just have the prize money
as an indicator. suppose has run fast time in the past and with a claimer on board could have a chance and has
run well after long break. gl

God bless him.......our races are defined by handicap ratings a 47-65 handicap would be our poorest quality race.....this is for horses rated between 47 and 65... incredible isn't

it......we also have 50-80 hcps....60-90......etc.........i sure you'll get the hang of it.......were not as thick as that lot in England you see...we are expected to know what we are looking at.....

handicaps with ranges from 50 - 80 60 - 90, much easier and better to know what class standard a race is when
you look at profiles. british standard is much better way of doing things and seems more fair judging by those
ranges. thats why dont read irish form, dont like the way its presented. some people alphabeticalize the standards

What a couple of days i've had.........after doing my conkers on Joe Eile i decided that enough was enough i'll listen to the Professionals.........no not Bodie and

Doyle.....Roadrunner and Gigalo.
First up was R&rs recommended shockingly short priced double.......Chelsea and oh it doesn't matter......

Next up Gigalo......Bretherton the stone wall certainly.....the 'top class 91 rated handicapper' running of 70 in a class 6 at Kempton...what happens?....gets run over by two yaks....how could this have happened!!!!!!!!

Think he had 6/7 winners didn't go through the card,that was the previous meeting!Yet to see anyone put up previews on the net anywhere and get results like that and all for everyone to see,long may it continue!

Our very own Scouse Tony regularly goes through the card on here.

Not considered a big deal on this forum given the quality of the contributors.  Would be forgotten about by the next day.

EX EX ran yesterday off 10.2 lbs well OVER weighted for this race and was always going to be very competitive race, was well backed
from 7/2 into 11/10, on another note backed the winner, first two home had been in sparkling form. what was really amazing
the tricast paid £1500, dont think would of taken many lines to land that. racing lately has been exceptional, lots of horses that
have been holding their form so, and mostly they have already racked up lots of wins, have not been worth putting down as notebook,
on this thread.

TEMPLE ROAD 3rd 7/1 just beaten over 1.5 lengths, has showed promise in the past and could be coming into a bit of form now,
only raced less than 20 times and won three, not a bad sprinter in these type of races. will wait and see. gl all

NICK THE ODDS ran the other day as well off 9.13 lbs another well OVER weighted, and another gamble on that too, memory serves me well
about 7/1 or 8/1 the night before and was well backed into 5/2 fav.

FRUIT PASTILLE 2nd beaten 1/2 length after missing the break, no doubt would of won the race with a good start, raced 6 times
and still maiden, hopefully should be winning soon, most likely to go off fav in a weaker race. well bred by pastoral pursuits.

dont usually mention any of the losers, not worth talking about, because these both had been well backed in their races, thought give
a mention this time, as their was potential notebooks that run in those races, otherwise never worth talking about the losers

The fastest 3yr old race this season run at lingfield although,looking at the class 2 later on the card and the pace of that race the track was quick as it's ever been.The winner harwoods volante off my to follows and runner up had been 2nd and third to another of my to follows the progressive oriental relation also runner up to alutiq previously so the form looked rock solid.
The first 4 in this race are still progressive although another penalty for winner,but showed great attitude to battle back and looking at times run at wolves,lingfield and Kempton although they are high in weights looks as though there are still wins in them.There may have been a slight advantage to be infront or near the pace at lingfield today,looking at some of todays races as the other meetings there this week suggested the opposite.Drive on and national service gave the winner and third 4-5l start from the break and although came to win the race just got oubattled.The fourth national service was out of the handicap is still only off 71 and 3 lifetime runs,there must be a chance that at least one of these could progress into top class sprinter on the aw and the most likely the lightly raced national service!!

I presume we will be seeing spreadable and don't have it then in next years July cup after they both easily accounted for the potentially group class Bretherton?

Brethertons a fibresand horse totally unrelated to any other track,as dozens of other horses that don't go on turf or poly or any other surface,basic stuff for any beginner...

A group class horse wouldn't beat a 70 rated horse at Kempton giving him 6 lbs?

How is he going to achieve his 95+ rating at Southwell?

Perhaps he won't maybe he will only be an 80-85 horse doesn't really make any difference as long as there's some value betting wise that's all I'm interested in I've got hundreds of bets to look forward to this is just one in a myriad of bets.

No interest in the Sand but I can spot a spoofer and anyone that puts up a horse as being potentially underrated next time up after bolting up in a maiden by 9 lengths,suggests he is group class and then gets beaten by 60 rated handicappers but then  attempts to claim some credit because he was well punted and now we have that he is a fibre sand specialist only.

Anyone that comes on to anonymous forum and claims to have made fortunes over the last few years (why would anyone be bothered telling an anonymous forum) and also claims to have more runners than Patrick Veitch and Barney Curley combined also fits the bill of a spoofer.

just half way through reading public enemy by patrick veitch, seems always liked to bet on good recent form horses
no one can claim ive copied his style, only had the book a few weeks. very boring in places, hope learn something by the end
of it. theirs a very good reason why people bet on the all weather, judging by the some of the books ive  read, seems vital
to have extra built in advantages and track biases, definitely get that on the all weather, especially on fibre sand. gn all

DOLDRUMS 2nd today has run twice now since going on the thread, was 6/1 last night went as low as 4.2 on the machine today
and lower IR, only few horses on the thread, can manage to highlight few of the failures for the people who are interested.

class 4 6f lingfield handicap

MAJOR CRISPIES 1ST 7/2 lightly raced just the one win so far, has raced against soem very smart types, well bred by one of my
fav sires pastoral pursuits, does get a good few prolific winners, hopefully this will be one of them.

THE DANDY YANK that run the other day, wasnt expecting much in that race, have been stepping it up in class steeply, coincidently
that race was won by a pastoral pursuits horse, FUEL INJECTION, apart from that the good horses are still holding their form on the AW.

Your gifted a thoroughly exposed 7yr old but an eyecatcher in this race travelling as well as anything trapped in on rail with nowhere to go throughout the race.She was up with the pace throughout,the race collapsed around the pacesetters and the two finishers won and came third, from last two positons in last furlong.
Considering she was up with the pace and was still travelling best bar the winner was even more eyecatching,how much she would've found is impossible to say but would surely have been in places against progressive winner.She's probably a horse I would avoid normally with strike rate and trainer but she could be overpriced after this run with books.
She's had a couple of seconds already this season both at wolves and a few places,this run would've been a long way infront of her recent best form and she maybe worth a few bets over the next few week.Quite interesting that she hasn't run at Kempton for 3 seasons but the track seemed to suit and the frenetic pace.
Dawn catcher similarly seemed suited by the track seemed to be travelling as well as most but was on outside of your gifted but couldn't get a run either,stopped in run shuffled back.She maynot have picked up as well as your gifted very difficult to tell but she's only had 8 lifetime runs,hadn't run since November had finished a length behind poyle Vinnie over c/d in a time that was respectable.Poyle Vinnie has since run 4th to expose after being hampered,there could be more to come from her and she could well be huge prices in very mediocre races.Just to mention roys legacy another very good run from poor draw up with pace throughout and still managing to get third place there may still be another race in him when given the draw and lead!!

Star up in the sky

When I first saw this result thought the time looked exceptional for a 53 rated runner,but track was riding very quick I still think it was pretty good but with the penalty which will be 10 pound then the time is negated to what about a horse of 63 would produce on that surface.But this was only second run since September,penultimate run behind Basingstoke was the race I put on here being the fastest of the season over 7fs that race has worked out exceptionally well George Benjamin and todays winner plus three places already coming out of the race.
Today she was dropped back to 6fs and they were virtuially all in a line with 2fs to go,probably confirming they didn't go that quick early but she quickened impressively.She was a winner off 73 in august 2012 she's still only had 13 races she also could be versatile with the amount of ear;ly pace she shows,infact she has looked a little to keen she maybe even more interesting give a chance over the straight 5fs.She could turn out to be a big improver on this surface and one to fiollow

there has been few winners lately coming form the dandy yanks races, basingstoke run today for its new yard over longer
trip, finished last, was raised 11lbs for last win, there was thousands for patriotic in the same race the night before
on betfair. FRANTHETANK won its 3rd race at southwell today, its only raced 8 times.

Tizlove regardless

A very good time for a 3yr old only rated 58 1m36.21 infact I doubt any 3yr rated 10-12 pound higher than this has run quicker this season from memory.The johnstn horse has only had 6 runs,this large colt looked awkward on track and it maybe the surface even though he won easily may not be preferable.Out of top class sire tiznow,the progeny are very progressive from 3yr olds upwards and it maybe the Johnston horse could impriove for switch of surface.Regardfless of that he will still look well handicapped after this poor looking race today shouldn't be higher than 65 leaving him in the lower grade races.He could be one to watch closely as I wouldn't be surprised to see him far better than current mark,he may even go on the turf as well so could well be interesting early season.There have been decent turf performers out of the pedigree even if tiznow was a purely dirt performer!!

SWIVEL 1ST 7/4 good run LTO in a better race, you will find that on this thread somewhere, finally one of these ones wins a race.

GLASTONBERRY 1ST 10/1 very good horse and still only won 5 times, could be few more wins in the future. has run some good times

EURO CHARLENE 1ST 5/4 only raced twice and won both races, easy winner today by 9 lengths, time 128.62 slow (1.82)
trained by marco botti and OR 78, sire  myboycharlie hasnt produced any really good horses yet, hopefully this
could be one of the good ones.

WD TIZLOVEREGARDLESS won again the other night, was going to put PROFILE STAR on here after it finished 2nd recently after being well backed and then drifting , couldnt be bothered, won the other day going off 3/1, never know if this horse will ever rack up a few wins in a row, live in hope.

oh yeah nearly forgot ALUMINA racked up its 4th win a row the other day, hopefully more wins to follow, there has been few prolific winners lately on the AW

2nd FUEL INJECTION beaten a nose, only raced 10 times and won twice, well bred by pastoral pursuits,
good horse goes well at southwell, hope can continue to improve, there has been few other horses, they
have already been cleaning up.

MAJOR CRISPIES went close today again at 50/1 finishing 3rd, has gone up form OR 79 to OR 94 + plus now, since notebooked on the thread. the winner did have exceptional form finishing behind my guineas tip toormore. kings request won again the other day, tipped on this thread LTO.

ALUMINA wins for the 5th time in a row, did say there was more wins to come hopefully only 3 days ago.

a southwell handicap off a mark of 62 after getting beat off marks 65 & 63 is really a 75 horse!.......left me wondering where he got that from until i read this gem from gigalo...

'.17 slower than abi scarlet hacking up in the class 4 older handicap off 8-4 rated 71 bretherton carried 8-12 yet hacked up and could've won another 3-4ls.On those figures alone it would suggest that bretherton is top class handicapper a mark of 90Shockedcould even be conservative on todays times'.

had smart form in the book, like you say had a good time on record.

Horses don't produce times like that and become 70 horses overnight,just wanted softer ground or back to swell luckily the rain came around 3.30 just in time,think indy may well have won the race but taken out made bretherton massive value!!
