Listening to him interviewing various trainers annoys the hell out of me, his line of questions always seem to be geared towards his opinions and what he wants to hear.
Constantly interrupting Mullins there this evening, answering the question himself before Mullins even has a chance to speak, jesus I know Willie Mullins is not the most forthcoming but at least give the guy a chance Chapmouth.

what a moaning bunch you are?..i like the guy..ive seen him have a few arguments and imo he says it as it is..on the whip issue he was with the punters..on most of the issues in racing imo hes on the right side..whether he is a good interviewer I don't really know..all I can say is I like him..(takes all sorts)

It drives me potty, horses should only be kept apart if they're in the same ownership (even then it could be debatable).
They screwed Graham Wylie over at Christmas, racing around a kip over 2m 3f for 15k when the horses Felix Yonger had hammered over 2 miles fought out the 50k pot at Leopardstown despite this quote from WPM
After race at Punchestown Sun, 17th Nov, 2013 (1st) "That looked impressive to me. He's in the Drinmore, but that may come too quick for him. His jumping was very good at the business end. Ruby said he was idling in front which would lead you to believe there's more in the locker. We'll see how he comes out of this; I might put him by until Christmas as he had a tough race. I don't think he needs to go up in trip. I'd be happy to stay at two miles". W P Mullins
Where should Annie Power be running??In the mares hurdle only WPM'S legacy has to be considered.
I am not sure Un de Sceauix is up to champion hurdle standard and they certainly won't find out by the races he's running in.It's a certainty he'll be in Closutton on 11th March.

Tony you're not on your own many people like the guy I just find him very irritating, his ego constantly gets the better of him, like we all have opinions but as a racing presenter and interviewer its not all about what you think, he seems to forget that other people might have opinions to the contrary, so stop constantly asking questions that suits your own agenda.
His sucking up to racings top table can also be very nauseating, I don't think a horse ever wins a horse race.
All about opinions Tony, Chapmouth would do well to remember that sometimes and he then might actually become a really good presenter because he can when he wants to be, but just really needs to tone down that ego a notch or two.

I agree with a lot of what you say silver..i can see how some can take him that way..i just like him cos he says it sa it is (mostly) the whip issue over here nearly turned me off racing..it was stupid..he fought punters corner..unlike a lot of them(who I have spoke too) he earned my respect there..and maybe I give him the benefit of the doubt too much?

I agreed with him too as regards the whip issue but man did he bang on about it?.
I disagreed with him as regards the interference rules they have in Britain, he thinks the whole world is wrong and Britains/Irelands rules are the only way to go, where I think there should be a middle ground where all jurisdictions come to a universal set of rules as regards interference.
I can never agree with rules that are overwhelmingly favourable to the sinner not the sinned against, why should the sinner get the benefit of the doubt it should be always the other way round don't you think?.
He constantly barked on about this and any viewer who emailed to the contrary he dismissed them nonchalantly as is his way, no need to voice another opinion because Chapmouth is always right and everybody else is wrong.

He is genuinely enthusiastic about the game Tony that I have no doubt and can at times be quite funny, but just let other people have their opinions too Matt and you'll be a really good presenter.

Oh as for the suspension from ATR Tony wasn't it to do with slating a young Irish claiming jockey, can't remember the young chaps name, did go a little OTT with his criticism, fine I've no problem a presenter having a go at a jockey they do make errors but that should also include the big guys, so much easier to have a pop at the little guy.

HE should be over for a fair few pre cheltenham nights in FEB and march ..a good time to tell him what you think of him be it good or bad, for me he scores more positive,s then negatives, the ladies seem o have thing for him[ and he knows it]. i had a chat with him once seems to be a nice guy.
HE tried hard to get blood out of a stone where Willie Mullins was concerned in the interview but no real joy....p.s Willie would be good at texas holdem.

Wasn't the jockey that Chapman had a go at a few years ago a barrister or something? And threatened Chapman with all sorts of legal ramifications,ATR subsequently suspended him!

MATT CHAPMAN, whose absence from At The Races for the past month sparked speculation the flamboyant presenter had been suspended, will be back in front of the camera on Monday night. Chapman is fronting the Stateside programme and will be hosting Get On both on Wednesday and Thursday.
Viewers will be interested to see whether Chapman, whose favourite TV personality is Jonathan Ross, will be less outspoken on his return to the screen although ATR bosseshave insisted he was not been the subject of disciplinary action, and has just been taking a break.
Chapman was last seen on the channel on November 12 when he made a lengthy apology to Irish conditional Keith Clarke following comments he made about his riding of the Tom Foley-trained Damien's Oscar in a maiden hurdle at Cork earlier in the month.
A petition was organised on the Betfair forum demanding his return, but Chapman, a freelance, has kept a low profilethroughout despite the rumours surrounding his future. Speaking ahead of his unannounced return, Chapman said: "It's great to be back. It should be a cracking festive period on ATR."
ATR executive producer, Rob Dakin, said: "Matt is back on ATR tonight and is presenting Get On this Wednesday and Thursday. He will then be working for the rest of the month, and although we haven't yet issued the January rota, Matt will be on it.
"As I have said before, Matt was just taking a break from the channel, it was never going to be permanent, and he starts back today."

I,ve done a complete turnaround with him Silver,he isn,t a fence-sitter which i respect unlike nearly all the rest of them, really seems to genuinely like Irish racing also and presented Navan yesterday very well. His banter with Oliver Brady a while back was classic, better to listen to him then the middle of the road waffle from the majority of the rest.

No problems with Chapman interviewing or presenting but was piss poor at the commentary.Likes Irish racing a lot and gives it a good press.
Always throws a dig at Martin when interviewing him about getting one well handicapped - tbf to Martin he takes in good spirit.
