Seems to have been a good weekend for most on here hopefully we can extend it to Monday Excited

Highlight of the day will no doubt be the listed chase when Davy goes head to head with Bryan Cooper !!
I think Davy can get off to a winner in the first 12.35 for his beloved Charles with Kerrieonvic , stayed on well at Limerick over Christmas after a layoff , The Fenton one has been dissapointing so would expect it to collect ... Hopefully price won t be too short

Sterling Silver looks to have been found a handy opportunity back over hurdles at 2.45 ... Robert Tyner was quoted after his facile win over fences the last day saying there were no races for him over christmas so hence probably why he has waited till now ..11/4 tonight looks good value

Cloudy Rocks 3.45 .His  point to point win before christmas reads very impressive ( interested to what the point to point boys on here would have to say ) ... Should take all the
beating if he translates it to the track .... If he can it could be another Golantilla moment for the O Briens and they can get another touch Wink

Might pay to be the early bird in the morning on these 3 ....good luck all

Cloudy Rock is a steering job
Report silvergreaser January 5, 2014 11:51 PM GMT
I never usually back on a Monday as a rule as its usually just bookie cannon fodder muck racing from England so makes a change to have an Irish meeting on a monday to give it much needed life.

Byrnes in the first should benefit from the drop in trip but surely if The Pounds produces his narrow bumper 2nd at this track to Band of Blood on his first run over hurdles he looks the proverbial ew bet to nothing if the tissue is to be believed?, best form on offer, Deise Dasher looks a potential fly in the ointment for Winters.

I was quiet impressed with Make a Track last time and they're turning him out quickly might just take a chance on him to beat the other two. Though I see they have been nimbling away at Rupert.

I presume there will still be many willing to take on Urano again? but I think this trip will be the making of him and he was still bang there last time before been squeezed out, hard to find anything worthwhile to take him on with, could represent great value after the race?.

Sterling Stuff looks the obvious one but I'm willing to take him on with Pint of Porter who if he reproduces his Navan run would make him a live ew alternative.

The 3.15 looks wide open but I'm going to take a chance with 2 ew's against the field in the shape of Provincial Pride and Kick Start.

Good Luck.

i am more than a little surprised about the expression of confidence about the mare cloudy rock, especially by 2 forum members who I would bet did not see her close up in action on her only appearance to date. she did win by a wide margin, back in November, I thought she was hard fit that day in kinsale and did not in my view offer much in terms of scope for the future. I would took the view it was going to take some time for her to recover from the exertions. the second has since won a point, but would be a 10/1 shot in my book to win any bumper.

cloudy rock is a home bred, her dam was also handled by the same connections and she too won first time out, and thereafter in her track career, never came close to bothering the judge. it could be a family trait, that the female side as best served first time up. she was a late non runner at limerick, where I think she might have struggled to win. at odds today less than 2/1, she can win on her own steam.

I will be fishing for fancy chances prices on countessa margerita, a good honest and reliable sort, who ran to her ability when 3rd in that limerick bumper, a repeat will see her bang in the picture again. she is ridden by a more than capable lady rider, Sheila ahern.

Sorry The  Gotchee , for only getting back to you now , went to bed just after posting that last night , Toner seems to be taking his races well , so not too worried on that score ..He has been running against better opposition than Rubert into the bargain , Rubert is full of potential but I'll be siding  with Toner today , he goes on the ground , whereas Rubert has to prove he handles it ...If its a fast run race all the better imo .....Urano owes me big time after clipping heels lto , ( was coming to win his race and had just gone by the winner )  so if Toner is beaten Urano will be the one that hopefully salvages something for me ...Weather is shocking up here , will the meeting go ahead ?...

I've gone in again anyway Kav. He will probably need to putt better tonight to win, but he knows that himself, so hopefully he has ironed it out in practise. Just seemed to be pulling a few. Dusty is far from solid under pressure, Webb likewise, and Zach has never performed well here apart from 1st two days this week. But he holed everything for 36 holes, so that will always put a gloss on a round or two. It cant continue, and didn't yesterday. The -11s and -10s aren't out of it, though will need help.

Do you have Ernst backed to finish last Kav? Home and hosed there. How the **** he won an event I will never know.

I have an ante post bet I am going to do. Just trying to sort out enough accounts, so can get what I want on. Personally think it a great bet. If you want in, send me a PM, I hope to get it on tomorrow, will message you before I strike my bet. I assume price will go quick.

Studying this week's events at the moment after taking this tournament off.

I agree Spieth looks the most likely winner despite his inexperience. He has nerves of steel and his ranking of 4th in Final Round Scoring Average last year says plenty about him.

Had a small nibble at Gary Woodland at 40/1 each way. A quick start and he could be right among the leaders and he can really attack the closing holes if he is in contention.

Good luck to all who are involved.

From an exchange market that offered big prices I noticed a layer offer €150 at 50's not far from the off. This amount stood out as being significant at the time.

Just flew through the highlights there and anyone on Sterling Stuff was very unlucky. I'd say the same for Rupert Lambe backers as judging how near the 125 rated second got to Toner, I'd have really fancied Rupert to deliver had he stood up. Urano looked a reformed character there with being held up really seeming to suit him, I'd say he can take his winners of one next.

Probably a horrible thing to say, but you really have to watch these small point trainers trying to make a name for themselves and their horses. Sometimes having had a pretty good one can make them get a little above their station. They rode the thing like it was Denman so at least O'Brien was genuine as the market also suggested. If Willie sees that interview tonight I'd say he'll have a little chuckle to himself. The way he discussed the Sir Des Champs interview was top-class and he is a brilliant interview for everything except future plans for his best horses.

Is this meeting always on a Monday?, seems a strange spot for a fixture to me?
