really looking forward to the topaz novice chase 3.05 MORNING ASSEMBLY has always been a horse i've liked and backed..i'll be hammering this fella tomorrow..the race like the card is a cracker, but with a clear round I fancy this fella big time. VALUE AT RISK 3.35 is also a bet for me..and @limerick KYMINS WAY1.10 goes up 2 f from last week and I hope that will help him get in front..i backed it lto and it stayed on..over 2m so this extra 2 should help...i'm not having a bet in the Ryanair but its great to see OUR CONNOR back..but JEZKI could be the fly in the ointment imo...best of luck lads..who ever you punt.
Fair play to my old Mucker Michael O'Leary for putting us straight today.
Told us that Si C'etait Vrai wouldn't win and that First Lieutenant would beat Sir des Champs.

Thanks Ozy my old mucker for not putting me straight today, Backed Si C'etait Vrai though not far away and raced up the wrong side in the far rails could have been done with told he wasn,t going to win, what a dose.

Last day of the festivals and for me a chance to recover a few losses. 2.00 Great to see a proper race for a Grade 1 hurdle. I will go for JEZKI. Hurricane Fly a worthy fav but I think a fast run 2 miles left handed is ideal for Jezki and if the jumping stands up will be good enough. Our Conor may need the run.
2.35 I think JENNIES JEWEL is a great bet at 5/1. Both the Mullins horses have potential but potential it is , Jennies Jewel has it in the formbook .
3.05. This is a really good race with a few possibly winners but BRIGHT NEW DAWN for me. Was rated a stone better horse over hurdles than Morning Assembly and strung out a decent field at Punchestown.
3.35 Gordon Elliott won the bumper with a Gigginstown horse on Friday which had its first run over hurdles and was brought back to a bumper and may repeat that with FORT SMITH. Looked at the rerun of his race at Navan and looked like he was out for a run but ran on well late in a good maiden hurdle.
At Limerick BYERLEY BABE could win the mares nvice chase.
Good Luck all.

The Hard Hat, E/W 33/1 in the first at Leop. Ran well for a long way in a much better race last time out. Having his 3rd run for his new trainer, think he should be spot on today. He is no 33/1 shot.

I think Hurricane Fly is a 4-6 shot, and as such all the odds against should be snaffled up. WHs 6-4 didn't last long enough to draw others into a price war, but 5-4 is a cracking bet imo. Heavy ground, at his favourite track, with his old mate Thousand Stars to tee it up for him, he will have no excuses. The others might.
Hurricane was admittedly very poor on seasonal debut, leading me to consider whether maybe he was on the decline. But WPM knew exactly what he had to beat that day(he trained them all!), and his view that there was a huge amount of improvement to come, should prove valid.
Our Conor faces a massive test today. I was blown over by his performance in the Triumph. The way he put the race to bed, was absolutely electric. But that was a poor Triumph, and this is as good as it gets today. He has to prove he belongs in this class, and so too does his jockey. I know Inis Meain is a poor jumper, but so far he has been ridden by poor jockeys. Mullins added his name to this list yesterday, giving the clueless animal absolutely no assistance from the saddle. Can he get Our Conor winging them like Cooper did?? He will need to. I get the feeling connections would be very happy with a respectable second here, and then kick on towards March.77
I personally feel Jezki is going to come up just short of Championship standard. He seems to miss our at least one hurdle late on, and when the Fly kicks on past TS on the crown of the bend, there wont be any room for error from those in behind.
Morning Assembly too looks worth a bet, again I wouldn't have him anything over evens. He is a real staying chaser, and I just don't see anything in here today that is going to be as suited to the challenge as this lad. His win over Don Cossack has been since franked, and now with the added bonus of no Ballycasey, and Ruby in the saddle, he should tick this one off too.
I am a big fan of Bright New Dawn, and awaited his chasing debut keenly. I wasn't disappointed. But just feel that a 3m slog isn't what he wants at this stage of his career.
Carlingford Lough looked to be outstayed the last day, and I feel that and also just not being good enough will do for him today.
Foxrock also looks to fall just below this standard. He could be an ideal type for the 4 miler at Chelt.
All in all, 6-4 looks a great bet.
GL all.

I will have to leave earlier than yesterday , i was going to go against the fly , but at those odds you'd have to back him at his fav track , our conor will love conditions , but whether he will have the ability to play with the big boys remains to be seen , jetski has done little wrong as we know , and will make the fly work , but the fly should be nearing peak fitness and is taking to win ...Had word for fort smith for thursday but he was taken out , only for his other horse to win @ 25/1 without me having a shilling on , so i will be punting this lad today good luck all punters...

In his column in Sats Examiner,Ruby/Pat Keane advised punters to back the Fly at 13/2 for the Champion before he runs today. Best price now 6s so will have a go at that, think it will be another good day for Ruby.

McCoy has never given jezki a decent ride imo..getting stuck on the inside was poor imo..the horse may not be good enough/..but you don't make a mistake like that?

Very strange ride from Katie Walsh in the last. Thought she was trying to pull it up round the final bend. Then got the stick out. Didn't seem to be overly hanging going into the bed. Strange.

good crowd there today without it been uncomfortable , ended up backing jetski w/o the fly @ evens ...Lucky to collect , poor ride from ap imo ...walked out with jessie whom seemed a little perplexed also , it fact jetski was the one to take out of the race ...left before the last and had no bet in it , fav was a poor price...

I just thought he was beaten by a better horse on the day who was given a peach and as John Kiely said afterwards they learned a lot from the last day and knew they had to produce him late.I presume you're referring to Ruby making more use of him and making it an even sterner test of stamina but Bright New Dawn did go a decent clip and it was 3 miles in soft ground for novices.

thats what im talking about.he seemed to be using up energy then holding him back jumping.strange ride to my eye.specially after how he won his last race.maybe it was a tactic but why change a winning formula..thin margins etc..

yes kav, it never worked anyway.but like you I noticed how he was stopping the horse from jumping into the lead..disappointing the horse imo..but was out gunned on the run in..and that may of happened whatever/

no ground was fine dec, I don't think there's any big thing about it just as kav says why change a horse that has won twice from the front too dropping it in when you could see the horse wanted to go to the front/..for all we know it maybe what fahy told ruby to do?..but its gone..we move on...

I posted a thread the weds before the drinmore saying Carlingford Lough was a cracking each way bet at 8/1 .....I felt after the race that McCoy gave him a terrible ride hitting the front way too soon on him . He pricked his ears and Don Cossack got back up and chinned him ... I didn t post or say anything then because i didn t want to sound like i was talking through my pocket ... Today McCoy held on to him a lot longer and hit the front after the last ...Didn t back him today , was on Foxrock .... Still think Foxrock has a big future , liked the way he galloped all the way to the line today ....
McCoy was poor also on Jezki , don t think it was the winning or loosing of the race the Great Fly probably idled a bit in front .. What a champion ...For us Loyal Jezki fans we need his jumping to improve and please God when McCoy goes for My tent or Yours Robbie Power won t be put back on ...
Top of my wish list for 2014 is that Barry Connell makes a change of Jock ..It won t be easy for him but he has invested heavily in the game and deserves better but sometimes you need to make tough decisions for the best ....He would be better off using the best available ... for example he would probably have got Barry Geraghty for a lot of his good ones this week ? ..... Bottom line is Danny Mullins isn t even average he is actually poor ...
PS Barry if you read this . Inis Meain is a Spring / Summer Horse and hates jumping out of that deep winter ground ... Don t loose faith he could actually win a Galway Hurdle for You

Great place pot dividend yesterday at Leops.e2740. Fav either won or placed in all but mares hurdle. Hard to imagine a single race can put so many out(just short of 10 winning units).Fooled by the fairer sex again. Well done anyone who collected.
