There are many on here that will reminisce about the past and highlight the "Glory days" on here. A load of bull in my humble opinion, you either contribute and participate on the forum or you don't. There are plenty of excellent contributors on here-highlighted by recent threads and also many whom don't have an iota. I won't name the excellent contributors because I don't play games and give a token pat on the back just to guarantee a semblance of support on my latest theory.
Most theories have a grain of truth to them,I have to admit I find it incredible that a 68 year old man would continuously write up details of what he believes are bets being implemented by a former forumite on here (the accusing poster went to extreme lengths in an attempt to flatter the poster that he now writes about). So what is he suggesting that the former poster is shrewd- he has spent a lifetime building contacts and is making the game pay, fair dues to him-begrudgery is alive and well in Ireland. If the poster hadn't completely relinquished any thought of ever being profitable from this game(due to a lack of discipline, staking plan and a refusal to adapt) surely he wouldn't be highlighting it on here, but would be implementing a counter cyclical response to profit from this unique arbitrage opportunity.
As for punting, most beautiful things are very simple. As if trading on equities,if you over complicate strategies-there is ambiguity in differentiating between noise and knowledge. As pointed out by a re veered poster on here earlier in the week, anyone talking in terms of certainties in this game is in for a rude awakening. However at 1.6 tomorrow at fishers cross represents the best investment over the weekend in my opinion-completely different preposition on soft ground and is closer to a 1/4 shot.
Good to see you back DJ,without really wanting to go into anymore detail in regards the latter part of your first paragraph,i personally believe there is at least some truth there and have said so for that reason and also due to one idiot who has self confessed knows little about racing baying when the blood can be smelled. Pity Celestial Halo was taken out thought At Fishers cross would still win well with him in it,just killed the price a bit for me and not a fan of odds ons will leave it go.

Good evening Pa, some truth in what Pa??.That a shrewd poster can't back or lay(without exaggerations and insinuations being added-it's not a hobby for all and is unfair when the whole forum knows who he is talking about) his opinions without them being highlighted on here. Why should they be highlighted?? There are no dead ones in WPM's in the true sense of the word. On at 11/10 and evens on Thursday-would be disappointed if he doesn't oblige.
PA,If you thought you had potentially an edge in terms of the direction of serious volumes being traded on here, would you even contemplate highlighting it on this??

Apologies for answering a question with a question but why should they not be high-lighted? Really think it is doing the vast majority of the forum a service,no dead ones maybe but all the same the fella you are sticking up for has no scruples of taking anyones money on here(fair enough we all haven,t) but the goalposts change when someone is playing with a marked deck. In regard highlighting them i,m not sure what my answer would be,butit could possibly be a yes.

Pa,you have cleverly replied there(maybe not intentionally) making statements with mitigation included. This game has always been an insiders game-there is nothing underhand going on,everything is off for its life(anyone one not making Benji's on Irish NH this season would want to change tack)-market manipulation is present in every single market on here.
If you believe you have spotted a trend why not profitably exploit it rather than mouth about it on here??.
Is it not being disingenuous to continuously praise a poster while on here and than constantly criticise when he is not here to defend himself??

Maybe not intentionally dj but the gist applies and also making it clear we are talking about "Theories",i,d disagree vehemently with you in that the man should be almost praised by yourself, sure nothing wrong with it,he has the info.Still someone bringing it to light on the very platform that most are betting and putting in a word of warning to be careful at times doesn,t deserve condemnation either.

You're way off, give me an example of one WPM dodge this year. You're capable of independent thought but unfortunately with Wildman you're blinded by loyalty-cold facts.Good night

Not fair to throw the blinded by loyalty to Wildman ,Not for a moment saying there is a WPM dodge as you call it,what is more right in my opinion is it is known exactly what he has or not, also what others have or have not and the betting at times reflects that. Abbyssial Saturday if you are looking for an example.

Be very short alright Silver, normally you could try and look for a f/c but doesn,t look a lot between the other two main ones,an uninspiring card but what would you expect so close to Leopardstown. The begineers looks an interesting race all the same, wasn,t too enamoured with Ned Buntline last time,Some Tikket dropping back might be an ew against him.

Certainly an uninspiring card alrght pa not to mention the heavy rain, Navan can become very testing.
Anyone remember Frawley running 3rd in the 2010 Champion Bumper behind none other than Cue Card and Al Ferof?, obviously had his problems as he was off for a long period but his 3 runs since his layoff have been absolutely dreadful so unless they're hiding something and the market speaks, best leave well enough alone, so I narrowed it down to 2, Shanroe Society and Beneficial Spirit, hard to get a grasp of the market but both should be good ew value if returning to their best form, same can be said for Robbe Kaydee and Sarah Battle in the 1.35, but I certainly won't be breaking the bank.
Might chance Rolling Star for Henderson in the Ladbroke at Ascot, has a win on heavy so ground conditions should be no problem, looks a sound ew investment at around 8/1.
Nearly all the the bookmakers have the front 3 in the betting all at 8/1, disgraceful Ladcrooks have the 3 of them at 6/1 a full 2 points shorter.

What credibility have you on here??,a monster lay on a stable on fire in the weakest maiden of the year because Ruby Walsh is a negative around Tramore??.
I would be amazed if anyone with even the most basic understanding of punting would vouch for the below statement(and that includes the Yes men)??
"Tobywong like DJ 876 seems to think its some disqualifying mark to lose your full bank in a bet,I don't probably because I have done it regularly."
Insanity: "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results".

I would never let myself be tied up by others rules.
You are now on a different tack, presumably you cannot counter the arguments I put up about market manipulation, your idea that these professionals as you see them should be allowed a free run is craven.
The statement that has you rushing for the smelling salts says more about you than it does about me,are you seriously maintaining you have never run dry here.
Longevity is the test of a punter,a test your fragile personality and stilted rules will fail.

Full bank, this is all jargon you got from some book, staking rules another nonsense, you need to have a feel for gambling and to enjoy it,you are far to wound up to enjoy it with a mind cluttered with rules.

It seems to be a generational thing, this definition and usage of 'full bank'.
The 'auld lads all think its the very essence of gambling to throw everything you have on one bet, whereas the new breed of serious younger gamblers, who have grown up with exchanges, operate on a strict staking plan relative to their bank size, and see 'full bank jobs' as the ultimate in amateurism.

I lost on Wicklow Gold because I got the race wrong, not that unusual.
In racing you get used to being wrong, get used to two year olds making a fool of you,if it was easy as DJ 876 makes out sure there would be no pleasure in it.
Whilst I accept Ozymandius opinion on "full bank " I don't accept that this new breed of serious young gamblers are all making money.

Nothing easy about this game and have never attempted to make it out to be,I don't slag people for putting up opinions-I just think your over-inflated ego could do with eating some humble pie.
As usual you're changing the goal posts-a couple of minutes nothing wrong with full bank bets.
For your opinion I have never read a gambling book of any description, only difference is that I don't think I know it all and am constantly developing new strategies (whether they work or not is another matter). You have to be flexible and adaptable because everything constantly changes
One thing is for sure,I won't repeat the same mistake over and over again for 50 years.

You will never get over your mistake on the Kilbeggan thread, you will never be able overcome your stilted approach to gambling and your rule driven policy will fail, you don't have the stomach for it.

You keep following the big boys on the ring and mouthing on here rather than concentrating on your own punting. The truth is you have already given up and are beaten psychologically before you place your first bet.

I don't pretend to be a professional,I enjoy racing and enjoy betting its a hobby to me,I certainly don't feel beaten before my first bet.
In your world every loser is a mistake but its not you will get more races wrong than you get right you have to learn to accept that.

Not at all every bet where I perceive the probability to be shorter than the odds is a correct bet (win or lose)-all about sufficient sample size.
I get a sense from you that when you lose a bet where you have a strong opinion-you will punt after that race with a scattergun approach and as if lady luck is in control not you ref-AJ Martin horse after Dawn Approach.
I believe that you don't believe you can win in the long run and lose focus. What I don't understand is how you are so narrow minded and dismiss other punting styles rather than even contemplating adapting.
It's as if you think there is nobility attached to old style punting,I see your Buddy finally retires as a NED next week

There was so little left after Dawn Approach that it was something to throw away,I wasn't prepared to lodge any money on here so just stopped betting here.
What is a NED?

Who am i ? 67 years of age, single, comes from a privileged background where the family made their money by renting out their farming machinery to their farm hands. Right wing, hates non Irish, or non white Irish non catholic, hates people who are not FF or FG voters, hates all the best gamblers on here, Ozy, KL, the King, Dj876, SligoRed etc etc. And really hates women and does not know what their useful for as is not attracted to them.

Anyone who bothers to point out that you 'got my age wrong' (67 as opposed to 68)is really struggling to make worthwhile counter-arguments. Throw in the token 'you don't understand' and you might as well just run up the white flag.

I have a big interest, Pa, but I am not an expert and i don't follow it in minute detail. Therefore my opinions would be abut as much use as, say, Tony57's, for example. I wouldn't want to lead people astray and anyway my opinions on making horse racing betting pay are well known.

Now, you can either call that patronising, or factual. I am not one who cuddles up to other posters just because we both like racing.

The most recent of the 7 being a 33/1 good thing.
All from last weekend and documented in black and white on the United thread (feel free to look them up) and the 33/1 also highlighted in a thread on the rugby forum.
Any feedback?

3 of the 6 were horses actually. one footy, one rugby and one reality.
For me a bet is a bet, I don't feel any more macho winning on hosses than I do winning on Figure Skating.
Regarding what I know about horses, you ask me this on average once a week, so please try and absorb my answer this time. My Father had hosses (mostly Flat) and was an avid race goer, I went everywhere with him and loved it. I follow racing closely but don't live in the UK/Ire, so don't attend race meetings and am therefore not connected to information flow. I am not talented/dedicated enough to win at the races without inside information, very very few are, as is evident here. So I know enough to know that I know f*k all, and gamble accordingly on the nags.

All there in black and white, Dickie, verify away.
Funnily enough that's the second 33/1 winner I put up there in last few months, (1st was Rui Costa in Cycling World Champs) and I would put up very few selections. Selective quality rather than quantity

If his track record is anything to go by,all tipped after the event.
Those awards did some damage,Ozymandius went berserk on the Award thread( there for all to see )Dj876 was so angered he returned after he disgraced himself and typed that opening post which is gibberish but managed to end up the rambling by unequivocally recommending At Fishers Cross as a bet at 1.6 as it should be a fours on shot, got both aspects of the market wrong and naturally the race wrong.
Normally you wouldn't highlight it but this is the gentleman who is never wrong, this is the man who scoured my posts for months got one where I recommended a layof the odds on Wicklow Gold at Tramore,it didnt half win but this was the nearest thing to a success he had.

Not into weekly tipping per se, Tony, there may be one opportunity in a month or 5 in a day.
I'm not solely a footy better either. I put up a few reality winners on here and they were ridiculed as for most of the old timers it's only hosses what count. For me its the bottom line.
I'm not looking for a platform either, thanks.

I ridicule those who ridicule others...you and Pa choose to take delight in Kinger losing, then I will happily have a go at you both (and yes i realise that he may have started the spat, that's irrelevant).
Also those who tip daily and walow in praise when one comes in, even if they are down pverall on the day, I think that is worth drawing attention to and choose to do so.
Otherwise I like to think I give praise where praise is due.
