Hoping for a bit of 3/1 when prices come out
By:
Unbelievably the handicapper dropped him 3lb on his last run(this a 47-65 so no use) would have put him up a stone if he got any run last time, thats your danger if he gets no run again but slightly longer will help,am waiting for a price as well Dinglemick.
By:
true lapsy , surely with 11 runners fran will be able to find some gap ( hope i don t regret that sentence
) How the hell did he drop him another 3 lbs .... i really think he has a stone in hand aswell |
By:
Runs of 47 instead of 44 and Fran likely to put up 1/2lbs overweight too so prob technically be 5lbs wrong tomoz
Is massively well in all in all though if transferrin some of his jumps ability across but his price gonna reflect that |
By:
just seen that BJG ta , he was in a hack canter the whole way up the straight the last night and his previous couple of runs over hurdles showed he ll go through with it now , hard to believe he was an 18 run maiden i think before his win in Cork ... Maybe they have done something with him ....What price do ye think he might be lads ?
By:
Dont think Santa will arrive on the 11th of December.Would be 4lb wrong in the 1m4f hcap on Friday hence the entry in the 1m race thats presuming he was carrying the penalty for win tomorrow night. Will be put in about a 6/4 shot methinks.
By:
He was 12/1 on the prices this morning on Irishracing.coms tissue, thought that would be little out haha, think the world and his wife notebooked him after last time, still has a bit of opposition and his running style you couldn,t take too short, plump for around the 2/1 mark Dingle.
By:
That would be 7lb wrong so.Didnt know his mark was 44.
By:
good hopefully that might be reflected in his price then purpose
... shur thats what racing about and your spot more often than not when they are wrong in the handicap they usually get beat but its just i think this fella has a serious amount in hand .... |
By:
Who would want to lay him at a price, when everyone wants to back him,the books will be knocked over if they go anything higher than 2/1....the halford horse is of interest as well, coach bombay,a horse on the boil.
By:
You,re probably right G Hall in regards 2/1,a bot is quite prepared to lay him at all rates from 2.5-2.62 for £1.99 at the moment here, always comes to a price though when you aren,t prepared to back him even if you think he,ll win.
No prices yet from the books and even though a handicap probably be the morning. |
By:
alpha an omega 11/10
coach bombay 7/1 echua 8/1 bar 10/1 Hard to back but hard to oppose also. |
By:
Irrespective of the result tomorrow night any handicapper who saw fit to drop the horse 3 lbs after his last run should lose his job as he is not fit to do it.
By:
A poor price alright and wouldn,t tempt me, think you're last sentence is spot on By Purpose, given the track and tough luck stories there every 2nd race and his running style i,d personally be slow, if bigger very maybe.
By:
It beggars belief what he saw and what the rest of us saw.
By:
The Wildman will have a bit of fun with this.....and he'd be right.

PA
Those prices are just my opinion after having a good look at the race.Eleven runners as opposed to 13 the last day plus the extra 2 furlongs will be a help but i agree its one of the few tracks that the best horse does not a;ways win. |
By:
Thanks By Purpose,I did mistakenly think they were the first prices out and couldn,t find them, you probably wouldn,t be too far off the mark in any case.
By:
Beat me to it on the other thread Pa, nice win there with United, only caught the second half but they seemed to handle them easily enough. 11/10 at home against a team who maybe lacked the hard runners and guile to expose United's deficiencies was a good spot.
By:
Thanks Neill twas an open enough 1st half,no Irish racing and itchy fingers, that other thread is a good one as saw Alpha,s last run and wondered what the handicapper would do and like a few here when i saw the 3lb drop i was stunned as no doubt a clear passage he would be up i,d say a stone.

Will have a luck at that race Pa, (the horse has seemed a solid enough character over fences in recent times which is where I last saw him). I got too trigger happy for a while and I'm sticking exclusively to the Irish and the Saturday UK stuff plus a bit of soccer/GAA/ and the very odd Rugby bet these last 6 odd weeks. Gone way more selective altogether.
I've watched a nice few of those Dundalk meets and while there are a lot of (0-65's), I'd be hoping there is going to be a small enough pool of horses again and I'll be able to get on top of it that way. I've knocked the UK stuff on the head but I was gutted to see Hamoody (who I've followed for years since his days as a promising 2yo with Peter Chappell-Hyam) of Dandy Nicholls hose up in a claimer last Friday at Linfield in a small field, on a sound surface against opposition he could pick up and carry on raw ability. Worse still later that evening, an ex Stoute horse (by Street Cry fto on AW) won off a near basement mark for Jane Chappell-Hyam at Wolverhampton having been well backed. I know well I'd ave given it all back though as if I kept playing in those races I'd invariably be betting against opposition horses I didn't know enough about. Just found I've been leaving too much to chance and was making oo many assumptions when getting involved in that kind of fare. |

look* ffs

By:
just seen this now..i had a good few quid on him last time.had good word.i assumed the way he ran he was not wanted..im astounded the handicapper dropped him 3lbs.does he think he cant win off the mark he ran ion that nite?his pulse rate hardly moved id say!!
By:
You have to look at it Neill,it was something else, knocked UK racing out myself(maybe Sat or a big meeting) an awful lot of work to be going through vids, never through my gambling life i,d thought i,d say it but much prefer the Irish racing now and a lot easier to do your study better as obviously less racing and a smaller pool of horses, less bets and being confident beforehand is my aim and analysis of the losers to cut mistakes. Think your last statement about getting involved in that fare is very true, easy to start afresh and try a different angle, you,ve a good knowledge overall and not dissimilar to the way i used to bet at one time but i made a concerted effort to cut mistakes, really think thats the most important thing.

By:
just watched it there, he had loads left for sure and you could see he looked well capable off that mark even without taking into account his NH ability.
It brings home again how tight the jocks all ride at dundalk and at all Irish racecourses I guess. There is no quarter giuven and you can see why plenty of our flat lads do really well when they go ton England. Agree with all of that Pa, the way I was playing had become unsustainable, i used to always put time aside in the afternoons but can't do that now so things had to change. really looking forward to the Summer now and the evening Irish Flat meetings. always loved Leopardstown of a Thursday evening. |
By:
ive backed plenty of "good things" at dundalk that got stuck up the inside...........the place is a nightmare

By:
Horse wasn't wanted last time. Drifted to 6+ on here. No chances will be taken tonight. Will come down the outside. This 3 pound drop is rubbish. It seems to me every horse on 47 is shown on attheraces site as being dropped a further 3 in future. Will get a 10 Pound + rise after tonight.
By:
He wasn't dropped three pounds for his last run. 47 is the minimum mark a horse can race off in Ireland and has been for a few years. It doesn't matter if they are rated 44 or 34, if they get a run they race off 47.
Also, to suggest the horse "wasn't wanted" last time out is just madness. You can count the number of winners that Coakley has had on track in the last 15 years on one hand and to suggest he'd stop a fancied one is outlandish. Good luck to anyone backing him at a short price tonight. |
By:
Opened at a best priced 7/4,seems to be money for Echua which given his trainer is notable, also can be argued he is also not badly handicapped.
By:
As a footnote badblokes are going 11/10 against pp,s 7/4,the 2nd worst price is 11/8, a fairly big discrepancy which is in line with what that firm are doing in regards Irish racing in at least the immediate past.
By:
Took the 7-4 myself Pa. Fran Berry could find trouble in a nuns knickers, but I reckon I could get this one home tonight!!
By:
Pa did you see the price they have Henson?, 11/10 with 9/4 freely available, absolutely shocking, they also have Millar Beach at 6/4 with one bookmaker going 11/4 as I type.
By:
3 s was wishful thinking out of me lapsy
.... 7/4 powers that will do , all duck or no dinner this christmas ![]() ....... I see ladbrokes are at it again only 11/10 .....I think the general opinion on the thread is it should win and if the only thing holding you back is worried about getting a run in an 11 runner race , well then 7/4 is a very backable price in my opinion and if you are off the opinion that he has at least a stone in hand the 3 or 5lb " wrong " shouldn t matter especially in this lowly grade .... Remember Inis Meain rated 44 running off 47 in Killarney during the summer of last year ![]() ![]() Good luck |
By:
Took 7/4 myself Callit, Dinglemick really wishing this one for ya,don,t want to see Christmas cancelled in Dingle and probably in another few places as well, know you are saying it a bit tongue in cheek.Very best of luck with him. Echua is a prominent runner and hope he doesn,t get first run,Francis Martin would want to be on the ball.
Silver they are chronic and should be offering no prices without at least a bog,it is wrong. |
By:
As if Millar Beach wasn't short enough at 6/4 they even trimmed it a little bit more to 11/8.
By:
A horse who has run 19 times on the flat without winning is a hot favourite. He lost because he was unlucky. Pass.
By:
* 19 times on the flat (turf) plus 5 times on the all-weather without winning.
By:
Its about time somebody in Dundalk used there head moving the rail on the home turn,Franny surely can't get this one beat now..??
By:
^ haha A very welcome development.
By:
11/8 on here now. very tight.
1) Echua ran into a good one at Wolver but followed up there in his next run. Top class form. 2) Coach Bombay represents the cash machine Halford/Foley combo. |
