No information as such on the race today, but was told a few weeks before Manballandalls bumper debut, that he was a very promising sort, and they expected him to take high rank. As such I had a good bet on him on debut, when well backed, but pulled hard in front, and faded in the straight. It wouldn't of mattered whether he pulled or not that day, he wouldn't have touched the very decent winner. I was rewarded next time though, when keeping the faith he won his maiden hurdle at 33-1. Was a bit discouraging they didn't back him again, but Nicholls did have a talking horse in it, but Manballandall was more than good enough, and looked to really appreciate the trip, as would have been expected. He may initially look to have been given a high enough mark, but with the step up to 3 mile sure to suit, and that endorsement from the trainer still ringing in my ears, he looks worth a bet at 14. Just hoping he is not as fresh on seasonal debut this time around. May be one to follow next time out if indeed this transpires.
Timmy gave up the outside to no one there, until deciding to yank him across to the inside up the straight, where no one ever goes on rain softened ground at Chep. In no way saying he whould have won, and may still not have got third, but jesus he's an infuriating cu*t!!
