Jaysus that's bad.... horse still on the course under a cover!!Surprised

I didnt realise Pickapocketortwo was destroyed.

Even so I doubt if he was going to win but it is in some ways irrelevant, the point is they combine their knowledge sometimes they arrive at no conclusion but this time they did ignored Mullins runner ( 5/2 out to 5/1 ) and plunged on Ipsos Du Berlais from 3/1 into 7/4 and got it right.
Report Ozymandius October 18, 2013 6:10 PM BST
Poor horse is still warm and you are busy penning conspiracy tales.

Proper racing man my eye.

RIP PickaPocket and condolences to all connections.

Again Wildmanfromborneo calls it right , there is non so blind as those who refuse to see ...Sad to see any horse die , Wildmanfromborneo has no need to come on here and say r.i.p...everyone worth his salt knows Wildmanfromboreo loves his horses and one dying will bring him sadness ...Del for you to state otherwise if both silly and stupid .....

Just wondering did the rain have an effect on the betting in this race  can you answer that
Report wildmanfromborneo October 18, 2013 7:14 PM BST
Doubt it as Ipsos Du Berlais two non going days were on heavy ground,Pickapocketortwo best run was on heavy ground.

They pooled their  knowledge and landed on Ipsos the result monster drift on one and plunge on the other, the result is nearly irrelevant.

One Last Chance you were a layer of Cops And Robbers and I would safely wager you were a layer of Ipsos Du Berlais in Navan last December.

Well that is another theory up the left as I DONT lay  I just like backing the winners GrinGrin
Report wildmanfromborneo October 18, 2013 7:36 PM BST
Hope you backed Ipsos Du Berlais.
I saw what was happening but couldn't bring myself to backing him thinking surely they can't turn this lad around.

Ipsos Du Berlais 7g Poliglote - Isis Du Berlais Gigginstown House Stud P4P/2P4- RPR 147h, 134c, OR 138h I suppose you could say he’s been a bit disappointing as he has some snippets of very good form. He ran well behind Lyreen L egend in a beginners’ chase at Galway but then got a stress crack before Christmas. At least he hasn’t won over fences so he retains his novice status. He wants soft ground.

Ozymandius will never get it.

Ipsos Du Berlais last run was over fences at Punchestown on heavy ground where he was completely tailed off.

His previous run was in the infamous Navan race where he was a huge drifter and was beaten coming to the first fence and ended up completely tailed off, that was the race that the Meade men combined their punting to force Marasonnien from 6/4 to corresponding odds on.

Ipsos Du Berlais raced reluctantly and never travelled in his previous two races on heavier ground,he had previously been beaten by Pickapocketortwo over hurdles before he ever showed reluctance yet they blithely ignored the Mullins runner and punted the bejaysus out of Ipsos Du Berlais.

You got to admire them.

Pickpocket or two ( RIP )

Harold Kirk assistant to winning trainer Willie Mullins said afterwards: “He’ll be kept going throughout the Summer.”

“He’ll make a lovely jumper and he loves the good ground.”

Saying no more  on the subject

That may have been his opinion but its not borne out by the facts.

Pickapocketortwo beat Ipsos Du Berlais fair and square off level weights in Thurles on soft to heavy, this was before Ipsos Du Berlais showed temperament  that was his best run for me.
He ran up to that mark in Punchestown on heavy ground behind Shrapnel these two runs exceed anything he ever did on better ground.

It's a huge loss to racing that you never took up your Trainers Licence, Borneo, given the fact that you seem to know far more about the horses of two of the best Trainers in the land than they do themselves.
Report Ozymandius October 18, 2013 8:20 PM BST
Anyway Wonky agrees with you. You could have had him as retained Stable Jock.

Ibson De Berlais's 3 wins prior to this race-2 of them came on Heavy ground and one on soft.I am surprised you're suggesting WPM was involved in betting coup when you always state he has an aversion to gambling.(though initial post has been removed so not sure of exactly what you said Wildman)

Maybe the jockey cut him out of the loop because he certainly knows his way around this site.

Noel Meade would break the Federal Reserve-surprised he has any punters left after the last few years.
Report dj876 October 18, 2013 10:49 PM BST
Ipsos du Berlais goes well fresh-winning on his debut and running second in a hot chase behind Lyreen legend last year at Galway. His form then tailed off for whatever reason I don't know.Maybe he had a problem or a Wind Op in the meantime(Meade is fond of them). They knew he'd go well today and the rain increased the confidence (wouldn't go along with anything to do with the forces combing tbh).

The Charity race has been discussed on here-the horse was owned by Patrick and the winning jockey had won a bumper or two.

I know the connection you're implying with another offspring and I am sure there is a sharing of information whether it goes any further than that I would be extremely doubtful.

Some years back I saw a Grand National winning jockey cross a betting ring in his silks to chat to Kasper Gutman then a satchel man.

An amateur jockey is now doing similar to speak to an evil cradling.

I saw a derby winning jockey blatantly block a hot favourite today........isn't that a lot worse.......oh sorry the man who sees conspiracies that don't exist.......fails to spot one that really does.......having a few in the local I suppose.......
Report wildmanfromborneo October 20, 2013 10:07 AM BST
Its only bad when you don't know about it.

When your boss is not drinking his name he is hassling connections with phone calls including Kasper Gutman.

Your jockey is too cute to approach your man in a betting ring but contact will still be made.

It could be that Ipsos Du Berlais only runs well fresh,I think he only runs well when they punt the living daylights out of him.

Yesterday in Cork favourite all morning at around 8 on here monster drift on both the win and place markets, result beaten before they had two fences jumped and eventually pulled up when tailed off two fences out.

Devils Bride withdrawn from the first at Fairyhouse yesterday but running today in Thurles, result a solo for the Noel Meade trained Ally Cascade and a return winner for Paul  Carberry, that's what I mean by choreographed racing.

Great to hear from Mrs Harrington how well Jezki is lately,a bit over a week from the Morgiana, maybe a bit harsh but no question it seems now she ducked the clash with the Fly and while she was quite possibly right, the chords of Lannigans Ball are ringing loudly.
