An ordinary maiden hurdle but a race that managed to encapsulate all that's good and bad on this forum.

I knew he'd be having a whinge.  He can never seem to properly enjoy a thread where KL or DJ put up a winner and the forum has a right touch.
Report richters October 17, 2013 8:49 PM BST
ozy the only touches you are landing is on yourself ffs......

i thought it was great.nothing bad about it.ew rick,.every one who got involved got a pay out.i had 75 ew at 20/1 nice pay out.what was bad about it?.
Report wildmanfromborneo October 17, 2013 8:56 PM BST
The good bit was the brilliant race analysis from DJ876 and the different angle taken by Keen Leader again successful.
Report kavvie October 17, 2013 8:58 PM BST
so who or what was bad
Report Ozymandius October 17, 2013 8:59 PM BST
Was the bad bit the fact that you are too stubborn to take advice from other people and therefore weren't on?
Report kavvie October 17, 2013 9:01 PM BST
oz let him answer for himself
Report Ozymandius October 17, 2013 9:02 PM BST
ok, sorry kavvie, my bad Plain
Report wildmanfromborneo October 17, 2013 9:03 PM BST
The bad bit was the Forums most notorious after timers contribution.

Ozymandius landed with his usual over the top sycophantic post,he then pretended he got the Trifecta up but then made a cardinal error by correcting another poster who said it was 4/9 he chirped " evens on here " he forgot about the non runner.
The second favourite was withdrawn,he never noticed and as he never backed it didn't realise there was a deduction, this risk averse non betting fantasist tripped himself up once again not unlike his legendary pretend bet on Spain.
Report freddiek October 17, 2013 9:06 PM BST
ozy, do the boys on the man united thread know about your 'Cambridge degree'?
Report freddiek October 17, 2013 9:07 PM BST
don't forget he tipped up a lay of Leinster and they pissed home
Report Ozymandius October 17, 2013 9:08 PM BST
It's true re the R4, I didn't notice there was a non-runner.  Hadn't even checked my balance at the time I was congratulating DJ.

Only mentioned I got the Trifecta up when someone pointed out it would have made good sense.

Is that it, Ducky?  Is that really all that's troubling you?

Kavvie, loads of after timers on that thread...in fact all of us.

Seems like Borneo would like us to declare our wagers in advance?

What a killjoy Laugh
Report wildmanfromborneo October 17, 2013 9:17 PM BST
The point is Kavvie we know you to be a gambler and you might in conversation say you backed something and it wouldn't necessarily be a winner.

Ozymandius and Rocketfingers are two insecure fantasists who pretend to be punters which is why they pretend to back winners.

These are also the two gentlemen who tag teamed Pa Lapsy in an effort to hassle him off the forum,I hope they have failed as he is similar to DJ876 and Keen Leader is in his ability to unearth winners.

Another attention seeking thread by wildman, no well done KL, he even could have wrote this on the other thread instead of starting this thread. I think he's jealous everybody is talking about KL and not wildman. As for his 2 brainless stooges ......

Well does Ozymandius know you as he put up those pictures for you, makes it easier for you to understand..

A horse has never been done for not trying, always jockey, trainer are done for not trying, horse may be banned as a result but never have i seen a horse done for not trying, maybe you can point out an example for us?

Derring Rose.

100% not true.
Report Rocketfingers October 17, 2013 10:36 PM BST
Just off the phone this second to one of the connections of that horse (Not naming names on a public forum obviously)and said 100% not true Wildman.

Sad Mad Bad.
In more ways than one.
Report pa lapsy October 17, 2013 11:44 PM BST
Peter Savill(ex chairman of the BHB) is the main/only connection for Derring Rose, horse ran late 70,s early 80,s if i remember right twas an awful tail swisher and could have won at 66/1.
Stunning logic for that 4.50 race today and fair play to them both.
Report wildmanfromborneo October 18, 2013 12:00 AM BST
We knew Rocketfingers was once again trying to pretend in Ozymandius like style that he knows all these important people.

Peter Savill owned Derring Rose he also owned Celtic Swing and his decision to skip the Epsom Derby and go for the French Derby instead was met with this headline in The Racing Post
                                                                SAD MAD BAD
Naturally Rocketfingers didn't get the reference earlier but then he has proved himself incapable of following the most basic threads.
Report neill d October 18, 2013 12:08 AM BST
Wasn't there something off with Celtic Swing's front legs or something?, he also liked cut in the ground. They must have worried about him coming down the hill on quick ground. Great race is the derby but from their perspective it could have ruined that particular horse, as it was...there wasn't much left anyway.
Report Distant View October 18, 2013 12:40 AM BST
It ruined Pennekamp that year anyway Neil D and also forced Spectrum into an extended layoff.

Celtic Swing was never the same horse at 3 despite an impressive Greenham win from Bahri. They did well to win a classic with him amd he would have really struggled on that surface at Epsom.
Report neill d October 18, 2013 12:47 AM BST
Before my time DV but I read a few articles about him in the RP when he died. He was one of the great 2yos I gather. Its funny really, bloodstock people love precocious horses that don't go on whereas the racing public are a lot more discerning or bloody demanding!!
Report Distant View October 18, 2013 12:55 AM BST
Was not bred to be a star at all and really surprised them.

Won the Hyperion in super style from none other then Singspiel.

The ground at Doncaster might explain the huge winning distance that day to some degree but it was still very impressive.

We still ended up with a Derby winner than managed to win the King George and Arc so the void was filled.

Sad Mad Bad himself was a useful enough type for Mary Reveley back in the days when she was a real force. He was probably as good a horse as Savill had over jumps around that period.
Report pa lapsy October 18, 2013 9:59 AM BST
Can,t understand why Rocketfingers is saying he has been on the phone to the "connections", really can only be Peter Savill or F W the trainer,if it,s the latter i,ll have to apologise.
