I'd go for Na Fianna as well gant but just hoping that they keep the focus. The clubs first ever final hope the hype around the town doesnt affect the players. They have been magnificent this year.

Of the seven matches they have played this year they have been behind at half time in 5 of them and won all seven. They like playing into the wind in the first half and you can be assured of a strong wind in Wexford Park.

Will be interesting to see how Ballinderry v Scotstown is priced after the former beat Clonoe today.

Ballinderry will be favourites but this is a very decent bunch of lads playing for Scotstown and they are a young outfit that will improve. Hopefully they will get conditions similar to the county final but at the start of November, that is unlikely.

Some run through Ulster though for either team. Ballinderry will have to beat Tyrone Champions, Monaghan Champions, Crossmaglen (more than likely) and maybe St Galls. It does not get much tougher than that.

Great soccer player is Dean.......Not the fittest for GAA and he is carrying an injury.

Not sure how to peg Ballinagh at the moment as to be honest I never really looked at that Championship beyond Cavan Gaels as there was an assumption that they would win out. I don't think I missed an opportunity in the Cavan final as I doubt any research would have led me to the shock.

Scotstown looked as well equipped as any side from Monaghan to take a run at Ulster since Clontibret were narrowly denied against Crossmaglen a few years ago and they have more scoring options than Clontibret. The trouble is their draw but they should have no fear of taking on Ballinderry in Clones, especially with a big crowd likely to be there with Emyvale also involved in the Junior Championship on the same programme.

The Hughes brothers are well known and Donal Morgan is a fringe county player that seems to excel at the lower level of club football. The midfield pairing of Caulfield and Turley are both players that have featured for the county (Caulfield in the league)and are a strong pairing at this level. Nicholas Corrigan is a former county player that can still play a role at club level and is a good first target into the forward line (despite his size) while the real stars in the forwards are Shane Carey (great for the under 21 team last year and likely county forward in 2014) and Conor McCarthy, who was singled out by Kevin McStay for his performance in that horrible defeat to Mayo in the minor semi final.

It's a well balanced side and one that could dominate Monaghan football for a few years. The prices will dictate what to do against Ballinderry but they may well be 7/4 against or better judged by the 5/1 and 25/1 quotes for Ulster at the moment. Reasonable conditions also needed to facilitate scoring.

It will be interesting to see if the Down lads can shed some light on Kicoo now. They were rumoured to be suffering from a bad does of the flu ahead of the Burren game which makes the victory even better. It was only Mayobridge that even ran them close up to that as they beat them by 2 points, Corduff by 18 points, Longstone by 18 points, Loughinisland by 19 points after their opening win over Downpatrick.

Crossmaglen are having the usual "not as good as they were comments" thrown about but there was nothing wrong with taking care of the City side by 10 points in the quarter final and you get the feeling that they have just being doing enough since then.

Truagh got it done and covered the handicap against Tyholland at the weekend in poor conditions to take the Monaghan Intermediate title. I am going to do more work on that as these games (like Keen Leader says) can be wrongly priced.

Seanie is a bit of a poisoned chalice at the moment alright.

Truagh have a very good team for intermediate in Monaghan and will probably be mid-division next year in senior. The problem is that many are young players coming into the squad from good minor sides and these games against other Ulster sides in early winter are going to be tough on them. I would say that the depth in Monaghan means that intermediate sides are a little behind other counties and they are likely to be up against it in Ulster this time around.

Distant View

Was not at the game but from listening to Cavan folk Eskra are a seriously fit team. A poor start (0-5 to 0-0 at one stage) and a couple of missed goal chances early on proved costly for Killeshandra.

I would not know much about Eskra. Centre forward Peter Hughes is their main man, kicked most of their scores on Sunday. They took Cookstown to a replay in the Tyrone IFC final last year and Cookstown went onto win the AI. Teamtalkmag.com (Tyrone GAA site) is very good for club info, match reports, manager and player interviews etc.)

I am taking a proper look through the Emyvale game today. This will be a tight match between two counties that are always strong at junior.

By all accounts Kevin Hughes has been immense and he is mad keen to win some honours for his club. Emyvale have some super young players such as Daniel McMahon, Ryan McAnespie (county minor last year and certain senior county player in a few years), David McAllister (county minor & very talented but a complete headcase) and Daithi Colton (county minor next year and a real talent). However they are weak though the middle.
