What are the numbers representing?
|
|
By:
numbers represent the pedigree value of the horses = all the sires top rated progeny
example GALILEO 530 = add 3 sires from the dam side = 393 (WONDERFULLY 923) only 16 top rated pedigree values have won this year form 123 races and 3 lowest rated have won. sometimes more informative then most of the time. |

Impressive win for Vorda in the cheverly, looks a very live guineas contender.

i'm absolutely puzzled here |
|
By:
I'm not exactly sure whats going on here myself, in the Royal Lodge Kingfisher is by easily the best sire of the 5 runners and finished a well beaten last of 5?.
|
|
By:
Numbers are representing the best pedigrees, maybe a bit too much emphasis on pedigree as form is foremost.Thats just my opinion maybe they are used in conjuction with form figures under a certain ratio.
Least tis a thread with some of the more important cross channel races. |

She's an absolute star i'd say Pa, they actually weren't going quick enough for her early. Surprised to hear they're going to America with her. She might not get a mile then but that isn't to say she won't get it next year. Not what i'd do but maybe the successes of Flotilla and Sky Lantern this year have made it fashionable.
Roadrunner's ratings are reached by adding the sire's OR to the dam's. |
|
By:
although vorda had the lowest rating on pedigree values, you could argue had the best form in the book, 2nd to no nay never
was very smart form, that horse is rated the best 2yo this season in racing post 2yo ratings. thought princess noor run well. thats two lowest rated on pedigree values winning this week, with one last week. total of five for the season from 129 races. |
|
By:
The pedigree with the highest combined OR might not be the best pedigrees anyway. A mare can be a moderate enough racehorse but a top class producer. the dam of Dawn Approach a prime example. Some of the best middle-distance horses of recent times like workforce and Harbinger were shipped of to japan because they are in no way commercial and their progeny would take too long to come to hand. No one wants a big shell of a 3-y-o that might not come in to his own till 5 and that is if he has any ability at all in the first place.
the next fella to join them will probably be Al Kazeem. |

just a starting point for the pattern races. next year will highlight certain horses in some races better than other ones.
heres two examples of races this year, where the ratings indicated very strong bets. basically will learn more about the group horses next season from doing all the races and pedigree values, therefore pick off some winners when they drop in grade as well. Nothing at all wrong with it as a starting point roadrunner, especially if you believe that horses can pass on things like genuineness and gutsiness as well as all of the physical stuff.

Sky Lantern is back to her best, bit of a messy race but can,t help but admire her come from behind style. 3 good races from Newmarket today.
Yeah Neill Vorda very good, wasn,t enamoured with her head carriage early but found plenty, didn,t see the post race quotes yet but hope the American route was said on the spur. |
|
By:
No it seemed pretty considered to me Pa, maybe they think she is just a 2yo. You've gotta love Sky Lantern. She'll be in training again next year and will be a brilliant 10f horse as well. Integral is the one to take out of that race, she should be much better next season. I'd say they still aren't sure how best to ride her.
