Fair play to Sligo GAA county board

Good decision, Sligo is a soccer town as much as a GAA one, I'd say even more so and its a good move for fans of both and the publicans.

That's old news........So the divide you keep telling us about in Sligo is not true. Sport should get along and help each other out.

Going to be some match,cant wait have booked the Monday off work,come on the hoops

Rocketfingers.......It will be a totally different atmosphere but it's all about sport and the decent sports people of Sligo will benefit.
A friend of mine told me the hardcore that keep people away from matches see this as a victory.......could it be the only thing you win all year.

Don,t see anything wrong with it, AUL and MSL were all cancelled for the hurling final on the 8th sept, people just being sensible that their code isn,t being detracted from on their big day and avoiding clashes, right and all.

You know you have one of them seething when you see the word "code" being used

Sport or whatever word you want to use so,good that young people are playing a sport whether gaelic football,soccer,hurling or anything else both physically and mentally for themselves in the bigger picture which ever one it is is a bit academic,probably down to the individuals preference and enjoyment.

its great to see the two organisations coming together and maximising the two sundays.im sure it will be of benifit to the people of sligo

Awful shame the GAA didn't change the KO time for Dublin Mayo game yesterday as it was Clashing with the Manchester Derby,
Bit silly really as football,particularly when united are involved draws a bigger audience.

Kavvie already said fair play to them, i would say for if Sligo get to the All Ireland final Rovers will return the favour.

Suicide for the GAA to take on Rovers in Sligo town Gant, they could not win and had to back down.

Sligo are minnows in GAA terms but at least the supporters next week will not be segregated or escorted by police into the ground. Sad in this day an age.

It was a new low for Meath but at least they got out. Better quality pre season warm ups for the Championship are needed.
