Sinn Fein already have two of the most articulate and intelligent TD's in the Dail in Mary Lou and Pearse Doherty.

I can see them mopping up a lot of former Labour support in the next election, and with the working class barely above the breadline the big two of Fine Gael and Fianna Fail will be looking anxiously over their shoulders in the coming years.

This is a guy  with a penchant for fakery who has become a figure of fun.
Should fit in very well to SF. FF cast-offs must be a real catch for any party.

vub i must say im shocked at this as andrews was a constant critic of sinn fein and indeed was exposed as the twitter account user who was lambasting sinn fein  and more reguarly his former party,a classic case of a career politician who sees a niche in the market under the sinn fein anti government banner......hope someone has told him if elected as a td again his wages are paid direcly to the sinn fein party and he only gets a basic wage from the paharty......

His father was Niall Andrews one of those Liberal FFers who was in favour of these ride on causes.

Chris Andrews is similar to his father and would have plenty in common with Sinn Fein especially foreign policy( my bugbear with Sinn Fein ) I think he is being genuine here.

Workriders reference is to a sixties singer.

Todd Andrews was their grandfather,a bitter man that did terrible damage to this country.

He was appointed to the boards of many semi state bodies but the one he did the most damage in was CIE closed down the Harcourt Street railway line and did it in such a fashion that it couldn't be reopened.

Another Chris Andrews was a singer in the 1960s who sang To Whom It Concerns and more importantly Yesterday Man.

good stuff wmfb......will be interesting if elected will he stay with the party long,i would be very sceptical about this move.....or is it a sign of things to come with sinn fein taking their place among mainstream irish politics and making themselves a real alternative as a coalition partner.....

I see some FG TD's have been refused communion over their stance on the abortion issue. I wonder have SF ever been refused over their policy on murdering people. I guess not as the Catholic church only care about the unborn. Once you are born it is ok to be murdered and kiddy fiddled.
