Brings back great memories especially two years ago another great card.
3.45 A right little maiden to start off,I liked Shell House first run at the Curragh but all she did was stay on,she is back a furlong on a track with two bends so could be caught for speed. My Titanias form over six furlongs at Leopardstown is better, she was second to Vallado who has since gone on to bag a sales race up the Curragh. She would be a max bet for me except the Oxx horses are running like sick ones. At the price I will chance My Titania.
4.45 Polished Rock is an improver and gets on well with Charlie Elliott,he has Won Diamond to beat.
5.15. We can't wait to see Free Eagle again,I wasn't as taken with him as everyone else so its a look on event.
5.45. A real good Matron Stakes, the ground coming right fot Caponata but for me its an outsider Wannabe Better, here we have a filly who looked moderate but started to improve, she is by Duke Of Marmalade who all seem dramatic improvers.
6.50 Great renewal of a great race,I think they will go a good pace and think this will suit The Fugue.
7.25. A tough handicap to finish and its an old friend Redera for me,this Chevalier gelding was winning before the transformation of the Tony Martin stable whether its the arrival of Tommy Carmody or not the stable have turned inside out, doesn't want too much rain.
I am assuming the ground will be no worse than good.
used to go every year [and thought about it this year] but since they moved it to an afternoon/evening meeting they can stick it - cannot be arsed having to rush down to Shelbourne afterwards

Surprised you're not going for Afternoon Sunset in the first Wildmanfromborneo , I noticed after the race you note booked her on here...Having spoke to someone very close to the filly , who told me not today as she would need the run I recommend you have a little on today....My other bets today are as follows ....3.45 the above strongly recommended I might add , 5.15 .Australia ..5..45.Kenhope ....6.50...Al KAZEEM...GOOD LUCK ALL PUNTERS...

^^ Presume that should to Montridge, found Leopardstown tough as well, did an ew on Oriental Fox in the 3.15 Hay, ran well in the ebor and ought to handle to ground well.GL

Sorry Oz, my judgment was clouded by disappointment. He is one that needs everything his own way though as you'll see when he got beaten at Windsor first time up. Very good when everything is right for him though, that ground is pretty soft I'd say.

That's me for the day now, genuinely thought he'd pick that lot up and carry them. They'd an unfancied one win a maiden yesterday, but I'm not sure the Hannon stable hold their form as well as the year goes on.

With Wildman in the first that's the John Oxx filly. She wouldn't be running if she wasn't spot on. Oxx is a top trainer. BTW in recent years Oxx runs more of his 2yr olds at the Foxrock venue in preference to the Curragh on which he trains. Also take note of his strike rate with runners in 2yr old maidens at the South County Dublin venue - from 54 runners he has trained 12 winners for a 22% strike rate and a level profit of just under 9euro. ( figures up to mid-june 13 assessed by Jonathan Mullen). Shell House is back out very quick and DKW didn't seem overly keen on his with chappers on atr.

wonky, please reassure us it wasn't some young lad slopping out the stable who confided in you over a pint that it was 'a lovely colt and would come on for the run'?

too late, richters, funnily enuf I saw My Titania race and thought it made ey catching progress at one point, but then Wonky swayed me with his 'strong recommendation'.
He's well connected you know.

Why are they lying about the Ground at Leopardtown. Racing has started now and no need for the lies. The ground is soft and the horses staying off the Rail are going to be advantaged for the remainder of the meeting

Again RTE missing a lot of it imo. Not saying Australia is not the better horse but soft ground Galileo/Ouija board handling the softer ground better than the High Chapparal/Polishe Gem. Agree with tony re the hype. The real gamble on the favourite was on here 1.36 to lay for whatever you wanted at the off and even shorter for thousands in running.
Winner a good horse and could be anything but flattered there imo due to the ground

Actually very interesting interview with Kevin P who said the last day she rang at Leopardstown (25th July) ground was softand she ran poor.
Ground was officially good that day I got slated that day as well for saying the ground was soft.
I am with Kevin Blake on this one and think Courses are giving punters the two's up when it comes to ground descriptions and changes

Off the rail but certainly not wide, anyone wide there(kenhope and caponata) had no chance. Agree with Silver seems good to yielding to me and the usual advantage of going wide when very soft or heavy isn,t applying.

I don,t fancy any in it really Tony,Flaxen Flares jump form is very good, not sure he,ll have the speed for it,wide open. Wonder will The Fugue get away this ground?

Yeah still raining away and they did come up the centre there. Mona Brown in the handicap earlier didn,t break too well Tony and did well to finish 3rd,could be a big handicap in her soon i think. GL with TL.

Ya ,she was impressive.Buick thought for a second he might get to the front too soon. Gosden said beforehand the ground was good with good to Yielding in places,u'd wonder if Coolmore made the right call withdrawing Declaration of War. For all she is a super mare, the standard of the Group 1 performers in the UK and Ireland this year is abysmal.(3 year olds and older horses)

Weather Watch finished well there Tony probably one to keep on the right side of. A good fist made of the card by the op. Enjoyable evenings racing which normally i usually get from jumps, but good performances from My Titania, the Fugue and possibly Australia.

Brilliant from the Wildman again, best tipster on here by miles, never afraid to put up his opinion, and more often than not he's right. Just seems to me that Wildman has forgotten more about horse racing than the usual thread spoilers will ever know.

la collina was rated 29th overall as a 2yo 2011. and 7th for fillys, beat the two colts in the phoenix stakes 2011 parish hall and power, they went on to be rated 3rd and 6th that year and won 2 group 1 races between them in the same year and in total 3 group 1's

One i really was impressed with yesterday was Agena ,green as grass in the paddock , neighing for all the world to hear , yet finished its race out very well indeed ....One to watch imo....

One thing that stuck me yesterday was the almost total Irish racing establishment madness about Free Eagle based on very little evidence. O'Ryan in his annoying contribution to the masses at the track yesterday almost had the horse as a next years Triple Crown winner such was the superlatives being issued. You would laugh at it but I feel a lot of fools lost a lot of money based on the hype.

I can't understand how Declaration of War was withdrawn due to the ground when horses who have a clear preference for good ground won on it -The Fugue and even more so Pique Sous.

I think they just got excited, and made a simple error in that they withdrew the wrong horse. Sometimes you can have too much attention to detail, and not enough attention to e-male.

I think what happened is that when connections walked the track it was indeed soft on the inside but the ground was so fresh off the rail it raced as good ground. That would also explain why horses racing widest of all couldn't get there in time as the ground in the middle (but off the rail) had not detioriated
