Have not seen enough of either team to be able to call it myself , lustrumm . Did pick up a coupon today in Ladcrooks , only thing I took a second look at was the "a close call " selection , 10/11 a draw or either team to win by less than 4 points . Have not done the sums ref odds on here etc , but think that might be an interesting bet .
|

By:
Lest anyone thinks I am an apologist for said firm ( whom I hate basically) they also have a 33/1 shot all correct 6 coupon , where you have to predict 6 even money ( presumably) happenings in the match . Thats 63/1 in my book , not 33/1 , do they not know we are familiar with the 3 card trick . No doubt some people cant do basic sums like that , but ....

In the winning margin markets, Lads themselves go
4/1 Cork 1-3pts 9/2 Clare 1-3 pts 10/1 Draw That's just better than 11/10 No shopping around though cos they are the best prices for those particular outcomes |
|
By:
Total points in under 44.5 at 1/1
Is that lower than normal lm just wondering if they have factored in the bad weather? |
|
By:
'Driving wind and rain '?
The forecasts I've seen suggest no more than a few showers or light rain and certainly no strong winds. |
|
By:
Clare are the value and I've availed of some of the 13/10 from last week.
|
|
By:
Thanks for doing the sums , db , looks like its better done individually then . Might have a look later .

I was in a Laddies shop at Lunchtime and they were blaring out the "Changes to All Ireland Coupon" so hopefully the early birds here got on first. I knew nothing and had not read this thread but I assume the real value is gone now on the Coupon.
Vubiant horrible Forecast is what I have. Whether it is in showers or not hardly matters unless you are going to the game. Either way Wind will be in play and so will a wet Sliothar. Neill I would be pretty sure you will beat 13/10 before Sunday as I expect the money to come for Cork once people settle into punting mode. I am certain of it in fact. I had Cork a good bit shorter than 5/6 |

Seen C****(the sombrero man) in town last weekend with the dog "painted" red and white, honestly don,t think he would have subjected the animal(and himself for that matter)to so many stares if he wasn,t at least fairly confident. That will do for me,a Cork win.
|

By:
Think Cork will edge it personally, but no juice in the prices.
On a side note, was saddened to hear of the passing of Barry Kelly's wife at a young age. R.I.P. |
|
By:
The weather predicted has arrived into Dublin if anything a little early.Probably a mixture between driving wind and rain and showery and blustery. So both predictions right as such.
BTW for anyone going to Leopardstown or punting there for that matter it is not a very nice day at all. A winters day almost |

I think these are 2 teams that are going to match up exactly with the same system and the only differential I can find is that Cork have won 30 Titles and Clare 3.
so you think the teams are totally on par and it's 50-50 yet are backing the odds on fav??? There is no other conceivable result. so basically all you betting is done on ancient history form?? gl, i have no idea who will win but i think your reasoning for bets is the most bizarre i have seen on any betfair forum and that is saying something |
|
By:
it's that old cork arrogance that we have all come to love premier!
|
|
By:
That's a pity for me lustrumm, I shouldn't be surprised, i have called this Cork team wrong at every turn since the Limerick game. I rate this Clare team very highly though.
|
|
By:
Been looking at past results today. The likes of Premier will say waste of time, means nothing etc.. I say stats mean everything, history repeats itself and tradition will be the difference tomorrow.
Who is being arrogant or cocky? me from Cork looking at the FACT that Cork have beaten Clare the last 8 times they have met in the Championship, have owned Clare except for that one brief period in the mid 90's down the years or the people supporting Clare that the team that has won the last 8 has no right to repeat history tomorrow? We shall see tomorrow but I'll leave you with one question. Seek out Ger Loughnane over the next 24 hours and ask him if tradition or history means anything? Hid bare Medal cabinet will tell you that it does |
|
By:
It's ridiculous to say that there is nothing between the teams apart from history and then a few lines later say that there is only one conceivable result (after acknowledging that there is nothing between the two teams).
Getting a near coin toss correct doesn't mean the logic used to get to your verdict is valid. Obviously history plays some part but it's an over simplified analysis and to suggest a Cork victory id the only conceivable result is foolish(no matter what the result) |
|
By:
stats are a useless tool in certain sports but they do not mean everything in my opinion
however you have basically said you think both teams tomorrow are equal and then say there is no other conceivable result than a Cork win anyway it does not look like we're going to agree so i will just wish ya good luck with your bet |

I am not taking any offence so don't worry about that.
Perhaps I am not making my point correctly which is "All things being equal History will prevail" and Cork will win. To qualify that I am saying that if I felt Clare were a better side than Cork then I would not be so sure of a Cork win but I don't, I think there is not much between them therefore I prefer 10/11 about the shot that history tells us is 1/10. Clare were the better side in the mid 90's, had Loughnane's harrowing experience to spur them on and won. But it took a team that good to surmount history and win Munster/All-Ireland titles. Is this Clare team that good. Not in my view |

I know next to nothing about hurling but did attend the cork dublin semi and sensed a surprising lack of real personal edge in the match for all the great competitive and athletic display by both teams.
Judging by Clare's dismissal of Limerick, Cork may find Clare even hotter contestants especially if the Clare players don't do anything silly and get sent off. The extraordinary confidence in front of and well away from the posts from the off in the semi make Clare a decent play for me at 6/4. |

Great save Nash,Cork in the height of trouble, nothin getting past Clare 1/2 back line and winning every breaking ball.

clear free out for Clare and then gives a free in for Cork
![]() |
|
By:
Ref must have been behind that move for Cork before throw-in!
|
|
By:
Haunted to be only 2 behind, agree that shouldn,t have been a free, thought the peno should have been retaken though as he was only a couple of yards off the ball when it was struck, however.
Lucky to be still in it and hopefully a better 2nd half. |
|
By:
Great game and gonna be an epic final 10 mins IMO. Galvin is havin a shocker! Three big moments in the first half and all decisions were brutal.
1. The free that Nash came up to take should have been retaken. 2. The double yellow card should have been a sending off. In a literal sense a draw down on the head is a no brainer. Yes it would have possibly ruined the game as a spectacle but nontheless it should have been a red. 3. A free out should have been the result but Cork got a bizarre free in. Vital decision and Galvin got it wrong again. Lookin forward to a super 2nd half... |
