Analogy of a clown.

What's the analogy ...and who's the clown ?

Could be a cracker of a match . Despite tradition , its evens your pick , think thats about right .

Cork to win, Patrick Horgan to be the difference, but Cork are no great shakes and the winner of Clare/Limerick wins this year. they simply have the better players.
By:
Two teams that lack real fire power and cutting edge. Tipperary must really be looking at these two and wondering where it all went wrong. They have 7 or 8 players that would walk into either of these teams. (at close to their best).
By:
There use to be an old saying down Tipperary way, Kilkenny for the hurlers Tipperary for the men, basically it meant Kilkenny can play all the fancy hurling they like and can beat every other team but when they met the hard men of Tipperary they were shrinking violets, funny how things change?.
By:
I fancy Cork to win with a bit to spare.
By:
As for todays game if the occasion doesn't get to Dublin I think they can win, they will play a packed defence which is very hard to breakdown as Kilkenny found to their cost.
Cork played well first half against Kilkenny and deservedly led but in all honesty the 14 men Kilkenny were the better team in the 2nd half so from a Cork point of view I'd be a little bit worried?. |
By:
Kilkenny were off the pace all year. The Dubs will be well drilled but lack that extra bit of craft.
By:
Agree gant but todays game of hurling is not all about craft, yeah years ago craft would often out but nowadays its a much mor physical game and Dublin have that in spades, personally I won't have a bet as I can see todays game going either ways, but wouldn't surprise me in the sightest if Dublin won.
Yeah Kilkenny were not firing on all cylinders this year with some high profile injuries but they did put in the odd performance that would suggest they're far from finished. |
By:
Kilkenny are far from finished. Craft is alive and well I'm afraid and the special players win matches.
By:
I don't think the pack has caught up with Kilkenny gant more like Kilkenny have came back to the pack because of mitigating circumstances, so I don't think there is all that much craft in the 4 teams that are left in this years All Ireland, I really think any of th 4 can win it if they play to there best of their ability.
If I was to have a stab in the dark maybe Clare?, that nut job Davy Fitz but a likable nut might just get them motivated enough to win an All Ireland that is there for anyone who really wants it. But its good to see the likes of Dublin, Limerick and Clare been competitive again, well Cork are Cork so we expect them to be there and abouts so from a neutral point of view I'd probably like to see Dublin win it, I don't hate Cork as I have relations down there, but it would be so much sweeter if Dublin Limerick or Clare were to win it, Cork already have 30 titles. |
By:
the dubs have nothing to fear here.their attitude will be .....fck tradittion!we are as good as any1!..dalo has his finger on the pulse....focus on the performance and the rest will take care of it self.

too close to call and certainly won't be having a bet
can't make Croke Park due to other commitments unfortunately but hope it is a good spectacle. Not sure if the traditional Cork cockiness will win the day or if it's a red herring at this stage. Be interested to go through all the players and see what they have won over the years. I'd imagine, Clare and Limerick have achieved more at underage level. |

Just going out the door now for the LUAS. Lovely bright day with little or no wind around. Fancy Cork even more now on the day. No logic to it just feel that if the Dublin's of the World were capable of winning matches like this they would have been winning more of them over that last 65 years.
Jimmy Barry Murphy Vs Anthony Daly I rest my case. Enjoy the game |
By:
Lustrum Offaly were nobodies and why can Dublin not do the same?
By:
Very difficult to call and will be very tight but I think Dublin will edge it. They are a team that are a year or two more formed than Cork and I think if they start well may get the young Cork team in trouble. Dublin also have more Croke park experience . Tradition doesnt win matches, teams do . This is the year this Dublin team are at the height and will know this is a real chance . I think they will take it.
By:
Think Dublin are the better team and will win, no bet though.
Had a nice bet on Waterford to win the Minor. |
By:
Fancy Waterford to beat Kilkenny in the minors, destroyed by a very good Limerick in the replay but they were impressive the first match in Limerick. They scored some super points from distance. Pity there is no betting here. Think Limerick will beat Galway next week and the slight odds on is a good bet for Limerick.

Lads what is it with Umpires in GAA, do they get them from the local pub and just give them white coat. Incapable of making a correct call.

If that is aimed at me Premier i don't find it funny. I posted an opinion and in the end it duly obliged. From what i saw of Kilkenny this year they did not impress.
By:
I'd be fairly certain he was referring to the opening post on the thread, which is a little baffling in terms of logic.
Waterford made us sweat for it, job done in the end though. |
By:
Everyone down this way saying Cork will win. I am not so sure. Cork had a strong wing in the first half vs Limerick and could not make it pay. I think Limerick actually only played okay that day and won handy in the end. I think Dublin forward line could get some joy, my main concern will Dublin choke?????? Huge game for them and it is the main stepping block for me. Will wait to see how they settle before i play. If they look okay 5 minutes in i will back Dublin.
