I make quantative easing the 4/6 fav to be the non runner to let CL in.

enda owes JP a turn, he put him into Micheal Flips after he paid 60k for it at Doncaster in may, bad luck intervened and the horse was put down at home last week, without an outing for new connections. pulling out QE will be no big deal.

Much more likely than that Jacksons Lady who has presumably been bought for this and other targets this summer or Like Your Style.

4/6 looks good value in this side market.

Was listening to the sports news on rte1 radio about 08:35 this am, yer man Gleeson came on saying when/if Carlingford Lough gets in to the race (McCoy declared to ride it)that it will win!
Reserve 5/1 Fav for the race Crazy
Report silvergreaser July 31, 2013 12:29 PM BST
Tom Mullins walked himself into it, well nobody has rang me yet he says to Sean Boyce, so Tom if someone rings you you'll take out Bob Lingo for no apparent reason?.

Shades of Cheltenham Gold Cup. McManus horse pulled out to allow McCoy to ride Sir Des Champ.

would you blame jp?..hes paying enough in training fees etc to max his chances of a big pot?
Report silvergreaser July 31, 2013 1:26 PM BST
Fine kavvie but you shouldn't be able to bend the rules to do so.
Report kavvie July 31, 2013 1:35 PM BST
rule is a bit stupid to be honest..it not enforceable.tell a lie and you get off.tell the truth(ala alive alive oh.young jock in sligo.)and you get nailed.
Report silvergreaser July 31, 2013 1:38 PM BST
True Kav they can give any old excuse try and disprove it/, simple solution have final declarations about 2 weeks before for these big races, whats the point of reserves anyway?.
Report kavvie July 31, 2013 1:44 PM BST
ground issues.id say they are waiting for something to come out ground related..

The soft ground loving Like Your Style has been withdrawn due to the softening of the ground!
Report BJG July 31, 2013 2:13 PM BST
Cannot believe they have taken Like Your Style out - i fancied that strongly given the ground! Odd decision
Report silvergreaser July 31, 2013 2:20 PM BST
Nothing odd at all about it BJG they were told to take it out, the stewards should not have excepted that withdrawal because it was obvious this horse will adore the ground, if no action is taken its a bloody joke.
Report BJG July 31, 2013 2:42 PM BST
U av misunderstood silver - i know they were told take it out

Wat i mean was its odd that Like Your Style was the chosen one - will love the ground

Quantitaveasing it was said several times the last few season does not like it soft and wants a decent surface so cannot believe LYS was the one to make way

Unless they know somethin we dont about him!
Report silvergreaser July 31, 2013 2:44 PM BST
Agree BJG LYS been taken out was a bit of a surprise and then to give the ground as the excuse for the withdrawal is just taking the proverbial P!ss.

Surely Carlingford Lough won't handle this ground.
Report lustrumm July 31, 2013 3:26 PM BST
Christy was always going to be the one to do the turn. I'd say all the others wanted to run
Report silvergreaser July 31, 2013 3:38 PM BST
At least the stewards asked, did you hear Hartys excuses for the withdrawal?, comical.

It just makes a mockery of Irish racing, but the owner has been doing that for years.

Pity he won, really hoping he would get beat, agree it makes a mockery of Irish racing.
Report mitch leary July 31, 2013 5:51 PM BST
a plot alright.
Is it usual for a horse to finish second in a small chase and go up 4lbs?
The winner miss pepperpot only went up 5. Quite obvious he was raised the extra couple of pounds to allow him make the galway plate.
What chance has the small owner or trainer.
Report wildmanfromborneo July 31, 2013 5:53 PM BST
Frank just me being wrong again.

He always looked to me a horse that didnt like bad ground.
Report Distant View July 31, 2013 5:58 PM BST
He probably does not wildman.

He didn't jump a fence either, but the mark catered for both of those negatives.
Report slickster July 31, 2013 5:58 PM BST
Yet another bad day for Irish racing. Just who is running the game?
Report frankalsoran60 July 31, 2013 6:50 PM BST
I AGREE he jumped poorly enough at times Distant but you can win the galway plate if a  horse hates the ground.
Report kavvie July 31, 2013 6:51 PM BST
i was hoping hed lose cause i laid him!!
Report lustrumm July 31, 2013 7:48 PM BST
Well that's what happens when the Stewardship is absent. Coolmore (of which McManus is in tight) rule the roost in Ireland

These guys can do what they like. Bending the rules with trickery and skulduggery is part of their DNA.(That's why they are tax exiles)  They may have a high profile but morally and ethically they are low class.

A horse with 2 stone in hand. Anyone with half a brain could see d plate was d aim from his first chase start in Galway. A load of pop around jobs at the bigger tracks during d winter to get experience. Any moron would have backed this. Nothing wrong with what they did. I know plenty of smaller owners who have paid people off to take a horse out! Everyone knew it was going to happen so don't see what the problem is. Ye mugsLaugh horse would have won on d bridle if Ruby was riding. McCoy can't get them jumping. We see it day in day out.

Good on ye willy, Give us one for the hurdle today Bigwilly, like the jolly but to short & think welds has too much weight in the ground.

I have backed Thomas Edison and saver on Mullins 4 year old down d bottom.  Thomas Edison has had a few spins in big handicaps and looks to be plotted up. Don't know about the ground for him. Think Mullins horse could be very well treated. Third run after layoff so should be ready to go. Ran nice race in France last time.
Report Deplasterer August 1, 2013 12:21 PM BST
Cheers Willy, I'll have a small play on Thomas.
