Jaysus lads could ye not see why Spain under performed tonight? 2 words Fernando Torres, he gets taken off, Spain a different team like in extra time. As for Del Bosque what game was he watching also leaving that joker on for 90 mins

Seemingly according to post in football forum Torres starts in final tonight. That is handicap to Spain straight away imo
Report BJG • June 30, 2013 9:38 PM BST
Torres and Pedro startin rather is surprising indeed - shocked Torres is startin! Improved massively wen he went off midweek

Spain team to play Brazil: Casillas, Arbeloa, Piqué, Ramos, Jordi Alba, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, Mata & Torres

Baffling BJG and agree regarding Pedro also. The 2 of them were nothing short of awful mid-week. I am on Spain outright and fancied them in 90 mins if right team was selected. Torres should not be in the squad never mind the starting 11.

agreed.  looking forward to this one.

I was looking forward to it myself Ozy and had supreme confidence in Spain if team selection was right. Pedro is unpredictable in that he can be equally brilliant and rubbish, where Torres is more predictable in that he is usually dross such as midweek (The global footballing super power of Tahiti apart)

i expect tonight you will get presented with all the evidence and clues you need to highlight that brazil will win world cup 2014.

Neither Sadlier or Whelan have mentioned the abject performances of Torres and Pedro would both for me like mid-week is what is killing Spain tonight
Report BJG • July 1, 2013 12:06 AM BST
Brazil destroyed em there in the first 45 - Torres as expected a passanger

Laughable selection and looks like it will get what it deserves! Should nt even be in the squad Grin Walkin around like he has a pair of concrete boots on so the Spanish midfield has no outlet at all

Brilliant clearance off the line from Luiz too - how he got it over the bar from where he was il never know
Report pa lapsy • July 1, 2013 12:19 AM BST
Fired up even singing their anthem, stunning ist half from them, peno miss and luiz clearance would have been such a travesty to be 3-2.
Didn,t see any other games but ye seem to be spot on with Torres being a liability.
Good match, kinda enjoy it a bit more when there isn,t any Premiership or other matches televised.

Ronnie and the other fella seemed confident picking Spain tonight
Report mr phantom • July 1, 2013 12:22 AM BST
Agree 100% BJG but even you and I could spot that and not Del Bosque despite all he has done as a coach. More abject coaching by allowing Ramos take the pen esp with the likes of Iniesta and Xavi on the pitch

A tour de force from rasil and their amazing supporters.  Delightful and I hope that they light up this competition next year.

* Brasil, or less fashionably Brazil

Whelan does not have a clue questioning who is going to replace Iniesta and Xavi? Clearly knows feck all about Spanish football. Still waiting on one of the so called experts to question Del Bosque's short comings in his team selection for both games. Brazil were fantastic though taking nothing away from them
