Meath will stuff them the fly. Jeez some pretty poor looking games there.

Meath may beat them but don't think there will be much stuffing done down in Aughrim.

Dunno about that RF.
Played each other in the champ last year in Carlow and there was not much in it until Wicklow lost their talisman Leighton Glynn through injury and had James Stafford sent off. They managed to win without Glynn against Longford, psychologically that is a huge boost for them going forward. Both sides met in the league in Aughrim earlier this year, Meath won convincingly but that will count for nothing. The Meath crowd out numbered the home support that day! I expect it to be a completely different story, Wicklow will have a huge following Saturday. I'm predicting a few lopsided games on Sunday. Fermanagh and Cavan should be a good one though. |

as arkle pointed out no team wins easy in aughrim,i only have to think of Down in the qualifiers a few years ago when wicklow beat Down by a point in extra time, down went on to contest an all ireland final a year later, which they should of won......it will be interesting do mayo keep up the same intensity they showed against galway.....
By:
this might test mayo.if they do the same thing to ross as they did to galway they might have risen a level since last year..
By:
Clare will beat Cork I think.
By:
Apologies, that is football!!

Exactly richters it would be foolish to under estimate Wicklow at home in Aughrim.
Roscommon will need to score goals if they are to stay with Mayo. That's something they've failed to do in their last four championship meetings against them. Carlow U21 hurlers beat Dublin tonight great result for them.. |
By:
i thought meath were very green in the leauge final fly.........but they are traditionally a team very like down in many ways that have 1 big game in them and if they were to come outa aughrim with a victory could ruffle a few feathers this summer......
By:
steady rock,a word of caution,i presume yre going for the hcp.if meath are anyway complacent they will get a rude awakening here,i played in aughrim.the wicklow crowd can be the most obnoxious cnts u will ever come across ,a bit like the mayo crowd.

Carrying a water bottle up and down the line for the Senior club team doesn't count as playing......you junior b and c lads get very excited.
By:
They were richters it was a big occasion for some of the younger players playing in Croke Park for the first time eg. Wallace and Newman. I would say Limerick or Offaly would have beaten us that day. Yeah agree Down and Meath do have a resemblance, both capable of beating any team on their day.
Down were seriously impressive in the second half against a good Derry side. Big win for the hurlers too! |

Richters you have to abide by the referees rules,he has been trying to stop this fight for ages.
If this goes on any further the medical people will want Richters banned such is the damage he has done to the hapless Rocketfingers. |

Excuse me all, not only did I miss the main thread, I got the dates wrong, an excellent start.
In any case, here goes again.... My main interest this weekend is the Maigh Eo/Ros Comáin match. So far this year the teams in Division 1 have ruthlessly disposed of lower ranked opposition. Mayo are available -5 against the 3rd division Rossies. They were -3 against Gaillimh who comfortably beat Ros Comáin last year. While I am wary of interpreting form lines over literally in the football I would be confident Maigh Eo can cover the five points. Thoughts Gentlemen? |
