"Alot of soccer lads end up dropping it for another sport as they know they have little chance of recognition.

I played underage with a top amateur club but jacked it in favour of Minor county hurling....way back in time....

Hurling is something that needs teaching from a young age.It needs love and attention to detail before you can become skilled in anyway.

Gaelic football is a rubbish sport(these days). Any child could learn to be adequate at it in no time.

The skill level in soccer is without doubt higher.

Hurling is the most skillfull by far, hence it is passed on through tradition by people who love and have played the game themselves.

I do wish some of these coaches would concentrate on the skills as it is those that make the game. Strenght can be devloped alot easier but is less important.

I also wish these same coaches(we all know who they are)would stop talking boll ox about tactics in hurling.

Beat your man,win the ball, clear it,or stick it over.

It's a simple but beautifull game when played as it should."

I usually tippy toe around some of the things you said for fear of insulting people's feelings, i enjoy watching it and enjoyed playing it GAA football, but the amount of times i seen lads pick up GAA football in a few weeks because they were fit is unreal totally agree no skill at all in it. I love Hurling, it's by a mile the better game of the 2 main GAA sports.

Shocking bet, i still argue that if Swindon had not imploded that Bournemouth bet would have been toast much earlier in the season.

No, richters tipped up New York because he met a guy in a toilet from Leitrim who said he was worried.
