I can see no justification whatever for a disqualification there. If I had a bet I would be livid.
Almost certainly the demoted connections will appeal. |

i cant make sense of this decision..........there was no contact and the first past post didnt vere that much.........i backed a horse at dundalk last week who came second, beaten half a length and was balked twice by the winner.........the winner veered violently off a straight line but there was no change.........

Arthur Moore indicated at Killarney yesterday evening that he plans to appeal the controversial decision made by the Stewards at the Co Kerry venue on Monday.
Moore’s runner, Positive Vibes, was first past the post in the International Hotel Killarney Apprentice Handicap, however after a lengthy Stewards Enquiry he was demoted to second, with Shalaman (who finished second) being awarded the race. The majority of people on social media outlets were of the opinion that Leigh Roche, rider of Shalaman, caused his own trouble, however the Stewards took a different view, saying that Ronan Whelan’s mount (Positive Vibes) impeded Shalaman in the closing stages. The decision by the Stewards caused much relief amongst punters, as Shalaman had been heavily backed on-course from 6/1 into 7/2 favouritism. |

The appeal by trainer Arthur Moore over the disqualification of his horse Positive Vibes at Killarney was dismissed at a Turf Club hearing today.
Having considered the evidence the Appeals Body found that there was interference between Positive Vibes and Shalaman and that this was caused by Positive Vibes drifting across and taking Shalaman’s ground. They found that the interference cost Shalaman more ground than he was beaten by and were satisfied that Positive Vibes had improved his placing in relation to Shalaman. The appeal was therefore dismissed. |
