Ireland vs UK International Point to Point – LIVE STREAM

This weekend sees the Irish Point to Point scene welcome their British neighbours for the innovative two day International meeting at Tattersalls, with GallopsLive and P2P.IE live streaming the action straight to your living room.  Run in conjunction with the Louth Hunt, the meeting will play host to a Point to Point riders challenge between Ireland and the UK, with some high quality races making up the rest of the card.

The challenge will consist of races between British and Irish riders with teams comprising of four women and four men from each country competing in a mares’ maiden and a geldings’ maiden for six year olds and upwards and will be based on a points system.  A draw will be made to ensure the allocation of rides for each team will be entirely fair.

The UK Ladies’ team consists of; Gina Andrews, Claire Hart, Jane Williams and Jacqueline Coward, with the UK Men’s team being made up of; William Biddick, Alex Edwards, Mark Wall and Joshua Guerriero.

The home team will be represented by Liz Lalor, Maxine O’Sullivan, Evanna McCutcheon and Annie Bowles for the ladies and Colman Sweeney, Jamie Codd, Mikey O’Connor and Colin Motherway for the men.  Let the battle commence!

Elsewhere on the weekend a valuable Mares only final is on the cards on Friday which is confined to 4 – 7 years only that have finished in the first four throughout the season in any Mares only point to point and will result in the winning owner receiving a bonus of €5,000 by Tattersalls Ireland which will matched by the ITBA.  This signifies the great support that Tattersalls Ireland, amongst others, continues to give towards Mares races across the industry.

Friday will also see the running of the Mares only Cross Country race with the Geldings Cross Country race on the following day.  Tattersalls’ Cross Country course consists of a multitude of fences including banks, rails, water jump and much more and these races make for some hair raising viewing.

A superb weekend of International racing awaits us, with free admission on the day and entertainment and prize giving after racing in the Tattersalls Country House.  Donations will be taken at the gate, with proceeds going to the Injured Jockeys Fund.
