After tonight's match Villa have to play Chelsea & Wigan have to play Arsenal before both teams play each other on the last day

The only realistic way I can see Sunderland to go down now is if one (or both) of Villa or Wigan beat one of the big guns this weekend and then that team loses to the other on the last day (eg Villa beat Chelsea and then lose to Wigan). Even then you would need Sunderland to get a max 2 points from their last 2 games or goal difference will keep them up.

db they play Southampton i'd have to fancy Southampton, Saints are a very decent side i make them 8th best side in the prem which may sound daft given their psoition. Then away to Spurs, i think 2 points would be a decent return and it will keep them up because of the GD, i think Norwich are in serious trouble they must win on Saturday and i'm not sure they will, Newcastle as poor as they are should beat QPR at the weekend. I think Wigan good enough to stay up, they're a better side compared to that Norwich for sure.

when you were out of the top flight as long as Stoke were, im sure the fans arent too pushed. Now that they re an established club in the PL, perhaps some of them would probably like a new more creative approach. In the 4 or 5 years they ve been back up I dont remember them having much relegation worries so fair play to Pulis for that

I think that is exactly what happened with them, i agree Pulis has done his job, i can see this being his last season in charge unless he is willing to change his style. Saying that they easily go down the following season if a new manager comes in, he'll need new players if they want to play a more attractive style.

Wigan have to get 3 points tonight. If they do I think they will survive as I would expect them to beat Aston Villa on the last day. If Wigan do win tonight I think Newcastle have a big problem.

Surely, i would not totally write off Wigan from surviving but to lose tonight was massive Jay. They had a lot out although so did Swansea  but Wigan were missing from the back and i think it showed. Feel sorry for them as i think when they play they're decent enough and i would still think they're better than a few sides a little higher up.
