Nina not her greatest ride today

I would have to disagree.I thought she was excellent on it.They didn't go too quickly and she bided her time while disputing coming down the hill.She kept a bit up her sleeve and only asked for maximum when Rival d'Estruval came along side.I thought she was just getting the better of that argument when that one fell leaving her on her own in front.Sadly for her he idled a bit in front and was a bit unlucky to have such a strong stayer as Back In Focus on her tail.

The horse was out on his feet Tolmi, it had nothing more to give, if it was idling it would have picked up when the other horse got to it, it didn't as it was running on empty. Just commentators talking bluff and not wanting to be critical of Nina, esp with father in law Ted lurking about.

I backed it and disagree strongly. Absolutely nothing wrong with the ride

Both riders and horses involved in the finish deserved credit in my view ( no bet here ) , finished miles clear of the others as I recall .

Unless a horse needs to be held up which Tofino Bay does not there are only two ways of making too much use of it...one is going off at too strong a gallop and the other is kicking on too soon.Nina was guilty of neither.The gallop was even and the winner was prominent all the way which rules out having gone too fast and secondly Nina did not ask for an effort coming down the hill until Rival d'Estruval joined her so she cannot be accused of kicking on too soon.
I was careful in stating idled a bit..I think the winners momentum did not give her horse a chance to rally.I stand by my comment that it was an excellent ride.

Every time I click on the Irish Sports forum, I find a thread started by Rocketfingers and everyone in disagreement with him.

Would have to agree with others.......it was a fine ride by Nina.

Nina gave it a super ride, I was praying Tofino Bay would hold on, but not to be.  Nina was one of the top jockeys in that race btw.

if it was idling it would have picked up when the other horse got to it,WITH ONLY 50YDS TO RUN HOW WAS THERE TIME TO PICK UP AGAIN FFS
