This place beggars belief, how anybody initiates a thread like this bamboozles me. It must be the "you heard it here first syndrome" that seems to pervade on here. Surely if you heard there was a doubt about an animal, the first thing one would check is the ante post market. It can be laid at 7.4,7.6 and 7.8 for a total of 664 euro. Does anybody think that in this day and age, that people are leaving that kind of money up in ante post markets for horses that wont run.

There is going to be some contrast with the speed test MTOY encountered at Newbury(They went a crawl)and a supreme novice hurdle on soft ground, stamina test will suit Un atout,Champagne Fever and Melodic Rendzevous. I expect MTOY will go off at 3/1 +

I was thinking something similar..Has been very impressive in a couple of slowly run races but it will be interesting how he copes with the uphill finish after a strong gallop.I was thinking more along the lines of 9/4 or 5/2 though.

Tolimi The ground is going to be at best soft, some of the markets haven't corrected enough. Some great trading opportunities especially in champion/supreme.

well considering that Mondays Stratford meeting is already abandoned which is not exactly a million miles from Cheltenham suggests plenty of rain fell, showers forecast up till Tuesday.
Agree dj soft at the very best, should suit Hurricane who seemed to me to be readily outpaced on the faster ground last year, as for Jezki I know he won well last time but the horses behind have hardly given the form a major boost?, at the prices I think I'll be looking elsewhere for a bit of value.

I was only joking!!I went through the first day last night when I saw the ground softening and came to more or less the same conclusions that you did.I am unsure as to the effect of the covers which have gone down on the draining process but I would imagine the lack of a breeze to dry out the ground would mean that the ground is likely to stay softish...at least for the first couple of days. The size of the entries for the handicaps mean that it looks like it will only be possible to study them fully once the overnight decs are available so I have only looked at the Supreme and the Champion so far.
